hey man, very nice seeing someone reviewing this amp i´m about to buy one without beeing able to try it first so its nice if someone else doest it for me ;)
one thing though, the cam-mic doesnt really seem to be able to capture the sound of the amp very well, and it ofte soudns distorted, maybe you could try to plug a proper mic into your camera next time (if the cam allows for it) or use an recording interface....
hope you don´t mind some constructive criticism :D
U KNow. this is not what i thought it is based on this review. i dont think it can perform heavy music like metal. but id bet this amp when cranked could get a nice brown sound EVH attitude on it
I just got to try a TT50 head recently. This vid is pretty good for the clean and semi-distorted stuff, but it doesn't really do justice to the amp's metal capabilities. I agree with vanmaiden08- if this amp does not have enough gain for you, you need some guitar lessons, not a "metal" distortion pedal. You have to play around with the knobs, but for metal, the sound IS there.
The TT50 is my favorite amp next to my JVM. I've read comments all over the Internet from morons who have never actually played one and they sound so retarded.
The TT50 is a superb amp with plenty of gain on tap. If it doesn't have enough gain for somebody, then they don't know how to play.
Great clarity and articulation even on high gain. Enough tightness and a great clean channel.
Great review. Maybe you can post another video for the amps lead tone so they can hear it in a solo.
Good reason too, both of them follows the same pattern. Basically Basket Case is Canon in D#/Eb (in my case though it's E, since my guitar wasn't a half step down like on the record).
hey you are playing great

It looks like he bought the amp and is "reviewing" his own amp as if he was some... I dunno, reviewer! Great amp btw...

A good brit sounding amp with a nice clean tone.
It's a little limited when you buy it but if you change some tubes and choose a good cab (I don't like Laney's) that amp sounds really great.

Actually, another reason that the metal stuff doesn't do it justice is because I can't do metal. Nor is my guitar very metal...

hahah well said.

I had this amp a couple of years ago. Great sound. Didnt think it did breaking up sounds. Great for gain though.

how much are the for a small practice amp?

Great review. After watching you play Basketcase, it reminded me of Pachelbels Canon in D, except after the G5 - D5 it goes to A5.

Laney amps are hard to come by in the USA., but sound great!
reso1349 4 years ago
Yeah and tey are also very expensive too, I'm afraid.

You're standards of jazzy stuff is extremely off.
Metalcritic 4 years ago
It might be, I don't listen to jazz. Basically what I based it off, is just like a general chord prgession which one guy labeled as jazzy...

Great review Gabe-meister, how often do you use this amp compared to your Rocker 30?
Also, you should smile some more while you play! :D
UGMwoit 4 years ago
I know I should smile more, but hey, can't help it.
I don't use it very much to be honest. The amp belongs to my band and is used by our other guitarist.
TheTavernTv 4 years ago
sounds like a really great amp man!
and i didn't think it would be that versatile at all
cheers!

nice amp! :)
pokgaizai 4 years ago
Nice really thorough review lol, and its no mesa but it seems to be able to get pretty heavy and nice bass response imo.
yoyodunno 4 years ago
Yeah. It sounds heavier in real life though. Keep in mind my guitar has PAF style humbuckers, so with heavier pikups, it gets heaveir
I wouldn't say this is an amp to buy if you only play heavy stuff. But if you need versatility I highly recommend it.

I love your cheeks man. They look very pinchable.
