Actually the the Catholic church is the Oldest Christian church. The theological definition of Christianity is that one must believe that Jesus is the Messiah. Christians is a term of the early church so you really can't say that Catholic is not Christian.

As a Catholic I have to say, Catholics never disrupt other's church services and we only protest public events. We are never told to do it ourselves, and the Church rarely if ever sanctions protests.

We are saved by Grace Alone and nothing else. But it is what we do with that Grace that will determine our soul's destiny. So faith in the Church comes into play. Our faith WITH works will make our faith alive.

When you see the apples; however, you know what kind of tree it is. If a person is saved, he will shew forth good works because he has the spirit of Christ in him. The kind of faith that saves is a faith that shows forth the works of God. Even devils believe in Jesus and tremble (James 2:19). Many people believe in Jesus but they won't follow Him. They have a faith, but not the kind that saves. If a person has true faith in Jesus, the Holy Ghost dwells in him and will cause good works will show forth in his life.
F) The good works confirm the faith by which the person was saved. James 2:21-23 uses Abraham as an example. Abraham believed God so when God asked him to sacrifice his son Isaac, Abraham, out of his faith in God, offered up Isaac.

@MrTruth111 If you fail to call Mary the Mother of God, you commit one of two errors: either you deny the divinity of Her Son outright (like the Arians), or you deny that He really took on human flesh and died for our sins (like the Nestorians). If you say that we are wrong to say "Ave Maria," then you say that the Angel Gabriel was wrong to use that same salutation (see Luke 1:28). And we never call the Pope "heavenly father"; we call him "Holy Father."

Actually the the Catholic church is the Oldest Christian church. The theological definition of Christianity is that one must believe that Jesus is the Messiah. Christians is a term of the early church so you really can't say that Catholic is not Christian.

The Catholic Church tried to take credit for what the Lord did. The Old Testament was written by Moses, David and Solomon, prophets, seers and kings. There was no "church" of any kind to claim responsibility for it. God inspired individuals to bring God's word to the people.
God the Holy Spirit inspired them, perfectly and accurately, to write the words of God for the church. The church did not "inspire" anything.

Open a history book pal the Catholic Church, i.e the Church of Christ is credited with the New testament. Remember Jesus said when someone sins against you let them know, if they do not listen take two or three witnesses, if they still do not listen take them to the Church, and if they do not listen to the church treat them as a pagan or tax collector. The Catholic Church is very biblical. It is the only church around at that time. James White the Protestant Apologetic as admitted as much. He even admitted that no one at the time practiced Sola Scriptura. That was invented in the 16th century. The body of Christ. Notice you said I believe. Quote scripture not what you have been told. Satan does have faith God like Christians do, FAITH that God is all powerful- that He cannot undo the ressurection and so must only settle with dragging as many souls into hell as possible

Also Rick, notice NOWHERE in the Bible will you find that people are saved by faith ALONE.
The key word is ALONE. It does not exist within the Bible, yet Protestants, and their erroneous sola scriptura mindset, will disregard James 2:24 which says:
24 Do you see that by works a man is justified; and not by faith ONLY.
Because of this, Luther tried to get rid of the book of James from the Bible, because it went against his personal ideology of being saved by faith alone.

The Vatican attempts to justify their MANMADE traditions with such Scriptures. Clearly, Jesus condemned manmade traditions.

The distinction to be made is that an IMAGE or MODEL is not necessarily an IDOL.
Looking at an image or statue does not mean we automatically WORSHIP the image, as humans don't also worship PHOTOGRAPHS of our loved ones.
We look at the photographs of our loved ones, and remember THEM.
Humans value photographs for their SYMBOLIC MEANING, as Catholics value statues of our Lady for its symbolic meaning.

If you think an image of Mary is akin to worshipping her, then equally, I can conclude that any person who has a SINGLE PHOTOGRAPH of a family member or friend is idolising the photograph.

Images of loved ALWAYS inspire thoughts *independent of God, is what youre arguing.
I strongly beg to differ.
Images of loved ones are placed at funeral graves and vigils for the deceased. Normally, when Christians gather together and remember their deceased with images of the deceased in front of them, they ALWAYS think of the deceased in terms of where their souls are, and hope that God will allow them entry inter heaven. Therefore thoughts of God and loved ones are not mutually exclusive.

Catholics don't worship the models and statues in our Churches either. They are there for symbolic meaning alone, just as the bronze snake was initially symbolic for the future salvation Christ's death would bring.

Pee's argument is that an image of a loved one has NOTHING to do with thinking about God.
I have refuted this, by pointing out that photographs of the dead are placed by gravesides, and during vigils.
The people who gather by such vigils do so to remember the deceased and to hope that their soul will be happy with *GOD*, therefore photographs of loved ones and thinking about God are sometimes linked.
By pee's logic, those who attend such vigils are automatically idolaters...

Your initial premise is that creating any graven image is sinful ALWAYS, yet God PERMITS it in this instance.
Either you think it is always wrong to create a graven image, or isnt.
And if you dont think it is always wrong to create a graven image, then it is perfectly licit for Catholics to create images of Jesus, Mary, the Saints and Angels as long as we dont WORSHIP them (as the people of Moses didn't initially), as the first commandment dictates.

Actually "Sola Gratia" is totally Catholic.
We are saved by Grace Alone and nothing else. But it is what we do with that Grace that will determine our soul's destiny. So faith in the Church comes into play. Our faith WITH works will make our faith alive.

A) Good works are the fruits that grow out of being saved. They do not make you saved. An apple does not make its tree an apple tree, it was already an apple tree before any apples appeared. When you see the apples; however, you know what kind of tree it is. If a person is saved, he will shew forth good works because he has the spirit of Christ in him. The good works don't make him saved only the blood of Jesus can do that.

The kind of faith that saves is a faith that shows forth the works of God. Even devils believe in Jesus and tremble (James 2:19). Many people believe in Jesus but they won't follow Him. They have a faith, but not the kind that saves. If a person has true faith in Jesus, the Holy Ghost dwells in him and will cause good works will show forth in his life.
