dang i just got my 3gs replaced and now its 4.1, any downgrades? A guy at the apple store said he could jailbreak it no prblem and then i asked how and he said legally i cant tell you! so i know there is a way but how?

my battery crapped out on me a few day ago so I bought a new original battery and installed it last night. now my iphone (3gs) is stuck on the low battery screen. It's on 4.0.1 jailbroken with jailbreakme and unlocked with ultrasn0w. I have the SHSH saved for 4.0, and I just changed the host file of iTunes. (i have iTunes 10) can I put my iphone in dfu mode and restore it with 4.0 firmware? i dont know if I need to restore or if this new battery I got is at fault but is the downgrade possible

You SHSH should be saved in cydia server then , so u can downgrade it , anyway there is no harm if u try , but i think it will work for u .

Yes u lose them , but i think u can back up them , i really dont know how , check for videos on youtube about restoring with back up ..

u can use an old backup, but it has to be of the old firmware.

my itunes wasnt able to use the 4.0.1. it used the old 3.1.3 back up

Last week i did the same process with m friend 3G and when i tried to get out from recovery mode using blackra1n it was jailbroken and this is what we wanted , just set ur phone as a new phone and jailbreak using spirit or blackra1n .

I guess that u can downgrade to 4.0 BUT both r similar .

If u restore it normally yes u will lose ur stuff BUT try to find videos about how to restore without losing applications .

if u didnt have the the 3.1.3 SHSH so I am sorry to tell u that u cant downgrade , and the problem that u jailbroke before using spirit so u cant jailbreak the 4.0 firmware now , spirit will release soon a new version that supports 4.0/1 what u can do is wait a bit .

Read the description , and please do some efforts watchig some videos , I had my iphone just for 3 months now , and i learned everything from Youtube , sorry for telling this mate . We press shift and restore to chose the firmware we want from our desktop and the iphone should be in DFU mode so iTunes can not recognize it .

LoooL , nobody can give u his SHSH because it is not possible otherwise all the problems will be solved . No way to downgrade without it , so restore again using iTunes and keep where u r and wait for jailbreak..

I wrote in my video that I need to know if u saved ur shsh in cydia server or no ? . when u restore did ur iphone be in recovery mode when u got that error ?

ANYWAY , dont panic when u get any error (if u have ur shsh saved before in 3.1.3 then ur downgrade is done even u see error number) just get out from the recovery mode .

Sorry to tell u no , BUT may be there r ways to jailbreak it , and when done save that SHSH in cydia server using Tiny umbrella (there r plenty of videos in youtube about that)

If u have ur phone jailbtroken before and u pressed the cydia option (make my life easier) then ur SHSH is saved in cydia server in the firmware u have at that time , u can save it by urself using Tiny Umbrella , if u had cydia before u can see something like i showed in this video (this device has SHSHs on file for iPhone OS: 3.1.3 )

When u got the error 1600 , was ur phone in recovery mode (did u see the cable and iTunes logo in the screen) ?? because whatever is the error the process of downgrading was done and u need just to get out of recovery mode (if u have ur SHSH saved before of course)

I have no idea but I think definitely no. Bacause the iPhone 4 is not supporting the 3.1.3 firmware and u couldnt save thatSHSH before , and Apple stopped releasing it before even the release of that iPhone

when u run blackra1n , the screen will be black instead of the recovery mode , dont wait for it , press the home botton and the sleep botton together TILL U SEE THE APPLE LOGO then release them , may be u will see emergency calls only , turn ur phone off then on , then connect it to iTunes and activate it.

If u have already did the SHSH for 3.1.3 then it is already saved . ,u can use tiny/umbrella just to save it again in ur computer or to save the firmware u have it now . If u did the shsh before u upgrade then it should be downgraded, try to save it in computer using umbrella as i showed in the video , u lose nothing anyway ..

NO , u dont need to downgrade iTunes , make sure that u r in DFU mode (ur screen should be black NOT with iTunes and cable on screen) DFU mode = Press home botton and sleep botton for 10 seconds then leave sleep botton and keep pressing the home botton for 8 seconds .

I heard many people talking about other errors BUT it is better than telling u that the firmware is uncombatible , although that error i guess u downgraded successfully .

Tell me after the error is ur iPhone in recovery mode ( it asks u to plug it to iTunes) , if so ignore that error , shut iTunes , try to get out from recovery mode using blackra1n as i did .
