I just don't see him picking Mitt. There was too much mudslinging in the primaries, that it's kinda hard to believe Romney's actually a true supporter. I don't think the Huckabee supporters are doing the right thing here, Huckabee does have a lot more than just evangelical support. People just cannnot get past the fact that he used to be a minister. It doesn't matter that he was one of the best governors of Arkansas, and the nation. He is a very fluent speaker and knows his facts.

I hope McCain does not choose Romney. The Evangelicals need to get all the blame for what will happen next. All the failures that will happen in the next few years need to rest squarely on the the shoulders on the phony Evangelicals and expose the Ted Haggards, Jim Bakers, Jimmy Swaggarts and the rest of the usual suspects that are driving the Republican Party into gutter with their brainwashed and uneducated followers!

Yeah, but religion brings good things. Hope for a better tomorrow, for example. Do you think that without faith the United States would have been able to become such a great country so fast? We have overcome challenges that many believed were impossible, stomped out diseases that threatened humanity, and so on.

Where do you get this number of 2.23 million people? Both the Old and New Testaments are important, and each has important morals. The Old Testament is, however superseded by the New in many areas.

The War on Terror is not a religious one. Everyone hates war, but when a nation is under threat, there is only one way to respond. Also, Iraq and Afghanistan are being "liberated", if you will.
Adam and Eve did not only have Cain and Abel. After that, they had several more children.
The references in Genesis of US and OUR are part of the mysteries of The Bible. One assumes that God is either more than one being, or that God is conversing with someone in the eternal realm.

Say what you want about Huckabee, but the guy really was a wiz on the trail. To do what he did on his budget really was quite an achievment. No disrespect to Romney, he's a good man, and highly intelligent, but he just couldn't connect with average people. I think it has more to do with class warfare than religion, but I won't rule anything out.
I think McCain will pick someone who helps him in a swing state like Charlie Crist. RI Gov Carcieri would be a good pick for other reasons though.

Gov Romney would be a great benefit to Sen. McCain's ticket. He has had to work as a conservative to get bills passed in a state referred to in upstate NY my home as, "The Peoples Republic of Massachusetts". I work for a nation wide company and generally there are few complaints from Massachusetts Health compared to some mid-southern states, I also deal with. This is a good man for government. We don't hold Jefferson's deism against him.
