@Struckworld Some word of advice: Stop looking at other generations through rose-tinted glasses and pretending to be some 60 year old jaded guy and mentioning your age on youtube as though it gives you some sort of merit for being 14, hating your own generation, and listening to such 'sophisticated' music.
If you don't have a single friend at school it's not because of what you like (I liked many of the things you did and still found many friends) it's how you come off.

The only person who even comes close to Scorsese at picking incredible soundtracks is Tarantino. Goodfellas, Raging Bull, Kill Bill, and Pulp Fiction have the greatest soundtracks I've ever heard.

That tracking shot through the back of the Copacabana nightclub is so damn memorable. It is in this scene that Henry seduces Karen as at the same time the lifestyle as a GoodFella seduces Henry. This song perfectly enhances the symbolism of this scene. Scorcese sure does have a good taste when it comes to picking music for his films.

Michael Madsen's notorious ear-slicing scene in Reservoir Dogs while dancing to the tune of Stuck in the Middle With You, or Travolta and Thurman twisting in Jackrabbit Slim's to Chuck Berry's You Never Can Tell are fascinating choices. Michael Mann, Jim Jarmusch and Paul Thomas Anderson could also be added to the list of directors with a magnificent use of music...

@ridlazz921 And let's not forget David Lynch, the "this is the girl" scene in Mulholland Drive for example, when 'the girl' is singing "I've told every little star". Lynch really managed to create an air of mystery here, by sharply contrasting the innocent sound of the "sweet" song with the weird atmosphere surrounding the eccentric people in that scene. A unforgettable piece of cinema too.

@B0bbyPeru No love for Kubrick? Paul Thomas Anderson in particular owes a lot to Kubrick regarding the use of music. The first music you hear in There Will Be Blood is actually a mixture of 2 different cues from The Shining and 2001. and the ear-slicing in RD set to Stuck in the Middle- possibly a nod to A Clockwork Orange? Otherwise, dead on, my friend, directors who understand how to use music make great movies. Think how different the Copacabana scene would've been without this song...
