  • this was old

  • Seems like it was a nice liturgy. Thanks.

  • I believe that would be Fr. John Gatzak, who was the

2nd "host" priest after Fr. O'Brien on "Celebration Of The Eucharist".

  • I am not sure; I left the region and after my military duty I moved to the DC area. I know that EWTN has the corner on the market as far as cable, but I don't know what's local to Hartford anymore. And you're right -- the TV channel that came to our church *was* WTXX! But wasn't it the same priest who did a lot of outreach on any television program -- youngish, Italian, feathered hair?

  • Thank you for posting this! I rememeber this show well; the same folks came to our church, St Anthony's in Bristol, where I was in the children's choir for a different mass. This show revoluionized Mass for shut-ins like my grandparents. The fact that it was weekly and not 'canned' made a difference. Plus, with local priests, they felt very much a part of the community. Again, thanks for sharing!

  • Glad you enjoyed it. We had a lot of fun working on this show. After 18 left the air, I recall Channel 20 WTXX carried the Mass for a number of years. I am no longer in the Hartford area ( I live near New York City now), so I am wondering, are any of the Hartford area stations carrying a daily Mass today?

    Thanks,

    Kyle

  • Kyle - I am starting up a daily "Liturgy of the Word" built for YouTube over the next couple of weeks. I'll have the Catholic tag and Mass tags set. Steve

  • Yes, the Hartford archdiocese still carries the Mass. I watch it often.
