So, the wealthy owner of a novelty factory plans to sacrifice millions of children on Halloween night in a celtic ritual that involves stealing a rock from Stonehenge,putting small particles of it inside the tag on Silver Shamrock Halloween masks,and setting them off with a commercial jingle. The masks make kids head melt and produce bugs and snakes. Also,the wealthy owner of the novelty factory has robot henchmen.
That's the best plot for a movie I've ever heard of.
I remember my mom bought me this movie when I was young cuz I told her how much I loved scary movies, especially Halloween. Anyway, I thought she made a mistake when she got me this one instead of the "Michael Myers" ones. I had wondered what it had to do with the series since it had nothing to do with Michael Myers. I found this one to be weird and creepy but still liked it. Personally, I think they shouldn't have included it into the series and just called it "Season of the Witch".
wouldn't have been great if the magic tv signal turned the kids into knife wielding murderers? it would have been more plausible than bugs and snakes coming out of their heads, and it would have made up for the lack of michael myres-turn all the kids of america into michael myres instead! now that would have been cool.

This movie blows. It takes a good concept and does everything it can to make sure it doesn't work. Why are they showing a montage saying "Be home at 9?" Don't they understand what Time Zones are? How is one random loon able to get the Commercial off TV just by screaming? How is on call able to get it off of more than one network? Why do they all have the same number?
You can drain an ocean with the plotholes in this movie.

2nd. This film rocks. the reson no michael meyers is because the series was suposed to becom an anthology series with a new film each year with a new independant story involving Halloween. Sadly barely anyone understood. This movie is a true cult hit though.

Agreed!!!! The concept is even better than the original. The thought of a madman inventing masks that would kill children on Halloween is creepier than some guy with a mask chasing after his sister.
It's really worth watching. The ending is actually one of the cooler endings for a Horror flick. H3 is unfairly ripped on because it has the Halloween name but no Myers.

3: Atkins is drunk throughout the whole film and running his mouth about who knows what, however still very entertaining to watch Atkins fuck bitches left and right and kick the shit out of everyone. I doubt it will be. People just want Mr Myers even if the film's crud. Resurrection was gonna be a Myers-less film but then they were scared of alienating the audience. I think no.3 is pretty close to Kneale's screenplay but with added gore. He just asked to have his name taken off it. The Stonehenge thing is added but feels like a Kneale idea. :)
Halloween 3D is coming in 2010 ! I really hope it's some sort of retake on the season of the witch story and not another Myres slasher flick . I'd love to see a darker remake, something closer to Nigel Kneale's original screenplay .
Love this movie. More imagination in it than all of the others that followed put together. H20 was ok tho'. The first 3 are the best in the series but I love 1 & 3 equally. Mikey Myers was good once but don't forget the bloke's nearly 50 years old for chrissakes! Put him in the Old Folk's Home for Serial Murderers. 2 more months to Halloween, Silver Shamrock. :)

@iheartsoapoperas The sad thing is that in the original screenplay Michael Myer's mask was said to have worn a silver shamrock mask the night he murdered his family, so Carpenter could have easily included him in the film if he wanted to.

Well, just incase you didn't notice, the movies are entitled "Halloween" and not "Michael Myers Takes On..."
Michael dies in Halloween II, and to give the title more meaning as well as continue the series (John Carpenter was conteracted to produce a third), Halloween III was done as something different to create a (semi)yearly anthology of halloween-themed movies.
The movie did ok, but the slasher craze was taking off so it didn't get the feedback for a real fourth.

It's really worth watching. The ending is actually one of the cooler endings for a Horror flick. H3 is unfairly ripped on because it has the Halloween name but no Myers.

I doubt it will be. People just want Mr Myers even if the film's crud. Resurrection was gonna be a Myers-less film but then they were scared of alienating the audience. I think no.3 is pretty close to Kneale's screenplay but with added gore. He just asked to have his name taken off it. The Stonehenge thing is added but feels like a Kneale idea. :)

Halloween 3D is coming in 2010 ! I really hope it's some sort of retake on the season of the witch story and not another Myres slasher flick . I'd love to see a darker remake, something closer to Nigel Kneale's original screenplay .

Love this movie. More imagination in it than all of the others that followed put together. H20 was ok tho'. The first 3 are the best in the series but I love 1 & 3 equally. Mikey Myers was good once but don't forget the bloke's nearly 50 years old for chrissakes! Put him in the Old Folk's Home for Serial Murderers. 2 more months to Halloween, Silver Shamrock. :)

@iheartsoapoperas The sad thing is that in the original screenplay Michael Myer's mask was said to have worn a silver shamrock mask the night he murdered his family, so Carpenter could have easily included him in the film if he wanted to.

Well, just incase you didn't notice, the movies are entitled "Halloween" and not "Michael Myers Takes On..."
Michael dies in Halloween II, and to give the title more meaning as well as continue the series (John Carpenter was conteracted to produce a third), Halloween III was done as something different to create a (semi)yearly anthology of halloween-themed movies.
The movie did ok, but the slasher craze was taking off so it didn't get the feedback for a real fourth.
