at the risk of sounding a bit like a 12yr old kid getting into d&d / magic the gathering for the first time - you are awesome! i just purchased MoM last month and have steadily been getting into it. thank you for explaining in fantastic layman's terms. i found the manual to be easily readable/understandable of course, but it is really nice to see someone explain it via audio and video. also, i saw your portrait on b.g.g. forums awhile back - saw this video, and said "hey! i know that guy!" haha.
@devianaut Thank you you for watching, enjoying and then letting us know about it :) I share your same enthusiasm for board games, and I hop eoy uhave a great time getting into MoM - just don't let it CONSUME YOU ;)
@stoolsboy Thanks for the kind words, and we are glad to have your subecription too! If you like this, check out out new channel, we have several new videos there playing different games: youtube(.)com/watchitplayed
You may want to throw a link to the new channel in the video description too... Flash video notations don't display on some mobile devices, like iPhone/iPad.
Thanks Rodney! I discovered your videos some weeks ago, and it's really nice to have a look at a game the way you do it, i have to admit i bought Lord of the rings LCG and this nice Mansions of Madness some time after i watched your related videos ;)
@nightrealm666 Thanks Jay. I'm glad to hear that our series helped you make a decision about what games to buy. I hope you have a TONNE of fun playing them :)
@mralamao24 Your wish is my command. We started a new channel after this series wrapped up called WatchItPlayed and we've done several other games. Come on over and check us out!
I just got the game today! But I have some questions, in the set up when it says Puzzlebox(?) that means that is the Puzzlebox from the locks with the octopus right? and in Story 1: The Fall of the House Lynch it says something about (?) and the lock sign so that means I add both lock to the stuff?
@gamergrounds I'm going from memory here, but I think I have this right. When you see the word Puzzlebox, it is referring to a card called Puzzlebox. On that car d it will tell you which "puzzle" the players have to solve.
The (?) is just there to remind you that something is an obstacle. If you could be more specific about which room and option you are trying to set up, I could see if I could clarify for you. Thanks for asking!
@WatchItPlayed I all ready have the answer but it was like this "magic phrase, Clue, Puzzlebox (?) Locked Door (lock sign)" the investigators have to solve both problems to get the reward and they can do it in the same turn right?
Hi Rodney and Andrea! Keep up the good work with these nice video's! They're informative and fun to watch. I have a question about the game, I'm going to play it for the first time with two other player and myself as the keeper (so that makes a total of three). I'm planning to start with the first scenario, my question is: how many investigators should be controlled by the two players? Are two investigators enough? Or do you recommend to play with four investigators?
@baakmartijn I think 2 investigators are enough, and frankly, as you are all playing it for the first time, I think you'll find it easier. Of course you have the wisdom gained by watching this series, but still... haha.
Once you are all comfortable with the rules, then having them pick up additional investigators could work nicely (it certainly changes things, as you will be able to accelerate your attacks with the extra threat).
Thanks for your quick reply! We're going to play with two investigators then. I'm really looking forward to playing it, by the way it looks I think this game is a great deal of fun. Good luck with making more video's in the future and my best wishes for Andrea; I hope you're going to beat your dad in many games to come ;)
@Disthron That would be neat, but terribly hard to cooridinate with my schedule. The series has grown alot though, since this came out. Due to it's popularilty, we new have a dedicated channel called WatchItPlayed. Check it out sometime!
@krzewinacandk My main help was going online and looking at the colors others had used to paint the figures. That helped get me started. Other than that, I watched a couple painting tutorials on YouTube, which also gave me some help.
Just wanted to say THANX for putting your time in making these videos...just bought this game yesterday...after looking at the manual i thought to myself "CRAP!!!!" But thanx to watching your videos i pretty much picked the game up...without you guys i would have been lost...Keep it up.
@narbeh1984 Thank YOU for taking the time to tell me how this video helped you. That is my favourite kinf of feedback. It can be a challenging game to get all of the rules figured out for. If I've helped, I'm very pleased!
I bought this game a couple of days ago after watching your videos, though i must admit its a pretty steep learning curve for me as the keeper. Do you summon monsters in every scenario given & if so, what are the rules to summoning? I looked through rule books and couldnt find anything specific for it, I was playing The Fall of House Lynch. Tips would be greatly appreciated before i play it properly with friends!
@FunkyFox40 As the Kepper the Scenario will give you a certain number of Keeper Action cards and these will specify what actions you can do (including which monsters you can summon). Each Scenario uses different monsters, and not all of the monsters are used in each scenario. For the Lynch Scenario I believe you get a card that allows you to summon a Maniac. Also, certain events in the game may bring out monsters for you as well.
@WatchItPlayed Thanks a lot, thats a big help, I started questioning myself half way through the game, turns out i was doing it wrong. Thankfully i dont have to correct myself on the internet like you do :P
I took your videos to my workplace, the guys there loved it. You got a small fan group in Brazil right now (even tough most of them didn't understand a word you said, but they were amazed by the game).
So far, MoM is the very first game I ordered from another country and your video really gave me the feeling of how this is gonna be when it arrives.
@drowmetal I've been fortunate to get a lot of very nice feedback through this series, but this is certainly one of the nicest! I am so excited that this video series helped you make an informed decision. I hope you and your friends get to play it lots (and you get to have fun driving them insane and killing them off... in the game, I mean!)
@drowmetal Oi!

I think for something like this you should set up somekind of stream. Like Ustream or something so people can see what's going on.
Seems like a cool idea though.
