  • He was pretty skinny back then!

  • If it wasn't such a Bowie rip-off, it would be something notable!

  • If you don't know me by now...

  • I cannot believe this is Ricky Gervais! Awesome.

  • I wonder if Karl Pilkington has seen this :)

  • @chaplinfan101 LOL I know! I want to know too. I wish we knew that. I'd love to see his reaction. Does anyone know?

  • Oh God. He's so gorgeous. I don't care. I think he's still sexy. His arm muscles, laugh, humor and brilliant mind (he's so smart!) are too much to handle.

  • I'd of done him then, and I'd do him now. lol

  • @DamiensBabyBear So would I xD

  • Seona Dancing is actually memorable until today, mostly Filipinos, because of their iconic song "More to loose". Their song is one of the most recognized Eighties' New Wave hits.

  • It reminds me of Jermaine from Flight of the Concords doing Bowie. LOL.

  • Wow... aaahahahaha

  • Its not actually that bad of a song!

  • Ricky Rolled!

  • he called him a c*nt with that bleep, lol

  • Yeah, he definitely listened to his Bowie...I think it might've been bigger, had it had a bigger hook. In terms of looks, he certainly didn't have anything to be ashamed of, he looked like the typical 80's pop star kid - which can be a double-edged sword, because back then you had 13 in a dozen of those.

  • pretty fine :P

  • i like him now better than on that time. Chubby is cute isn't it?

  • hot hot hot! I have a new crush :)

  • I love Ricky Gervais! He is awesome! I find him attractive then and I still find him attractive haha I love him ^^

  • Mid to late 30's ;-)

  • he should be proud of this! the song sounded pretty good, for a distinct 80s vibe, and who would have known it - he was fit!

  • he looks a bit like david bowie

    lol

  • what a mullet...

  • thats a rad chorus

  • he was sooo so hot

  • There's a lot of Steven Kilbey in there too.

  • I don't know why he's so embarrassed about this!!!! I think it trumps most sh*t that was being churned out at that time!!!

  • Oh my... He's sooooooooooooo HOT!!! Then again, funny guys always have something about them... But look at him, wow!

  • ur so right i love him then and now lol :)

  • I never thought I'd drool over Ricky Gervais, god he was hot

  • I love the sound of Brit pop of the 80s....Ricky Gervais could ve made it big as a singer!!! But im glad he s a comedian, he really makes a difference

  • even the worst end of 80s music beats most stuff now!

  • he's so hot!

  • "I'm not ashamed how I looked then, I'm ashamed how I look now"... haha

  • I actually like that song, I don't know what to do. Should I have grown up in the 80s instaed of the 90s.

  • @BulgeVision yeah but you would be 10 years older now!

  • I totally want Ricky's tie. LOL!

  • Comment removed

  • hehe

  • It's probably just me but I think he looks so Bowie in this. He could've totally passed as Bowie's twin or something.

  • I still find this utterly surreal. But I still like it. ^_^

  • OMG! Ricky Gervais is so fucking awesome. I just found out about his 80's pop past today and was shocked. I fucking knew he could sing. He sounded too good when he did that mock music video on The Office. I just knew it. When I saw the Bitterheart video, I couldn't believe that was Ricky. He was so fucking hot. I loved his androgynous look and his beautiful eyes. Besides all that, Ricky is still awesome then and now. I'm rocking Bitterheart on my iPod. Viva La 80's!

  • i got chills when they played that video

  • Why did they show the clip from Bitter Heart? I mean it's not bad but More To Lose is the best track by far!

  • @JMR83 More to lose doesent have a music video, thats why

  • @PatrickIngham21

But there was a live performance on Razzmatazz.

  • @JMR83 They always like to use music videos for some reason

  • So good. Gervais is win on so many levels.

  • nicee boddy<3

  • 0:22 hahahahaha.

Sounds so creepy when he says, "Bitterheart."

  • "what happened to you?" hahaha. he used to be a pretty decent looking cat. had that classic 80s sound too.

  • bleep myself

    ha!

  • About every single interviewer tried to bring this video to Ricky's attention - to embarass - why! I wouldn't be - he was gorgous then and hey, he's got it now - intelligent, funny, attractive - don't get much through from him about himself but that is how it should be - he has a life of his own and should keep it that way.

  • Bahahaha! That's so awesome

  • Ricky, so good looking!!! Like a pixie or sommat, pixie bowie numan cute.

  • looked sexy back then but now hes super cute! :D.

  • that's a really good song and he looks gorgeous!!

    Gervais is awesome

    xD

  • Great song!!!!!!! Massive Bowie influence....

  • Yes, and he looked like Bowie too.

I love those teeth, I can't help it, and if loving those teefs is wrong, I don't wanna be right!

  • I actually think this is pretty good.

  • Lol, I love Ricky Gervais.

I think he's one of those luckily talented people who can do just about anything.

& I love how Richard says "We've got to finish the show now haven't we?" at the end.

  • If these two muppets doing the interview had done any kind of research they'd know the band is pronounced Shawna Dancing. You can tell Ricky Gervais thinks they're fuckwits right after she incorrectly corrects the bloke just by the look on his face.

  • he was so hot

  • leoniesmith1982

Yeah, I still havent worked women out :-)

  • I love Ricky... now and then :)

  • Gervais wasn't bad, it was the other guy who stood there like a lump. Three or so other pretty boys, it'd probably have been a hit.

  • i thought is was actually ok,

i suppose he was always talented in one shape or another

  • He looked kinda like david bowie when he was young

  • Aw, poor Ricky.

  • I really fancy him in this video!

  • i know! he looks so good! lol

  • Strangly its pretty good. He actually made 21 songs but only 4 were released. The other 17 are still in excistence on tape at the record studio but will never be released.

  • we should go back in time and buy his records so we can make him famous.

  • lol. i agree. i actually like the music... lol.

  • Well I thought he was well fit in his day.

  • Why don't Ricky release this on CD!?

  • i don't know whether this is sad, but after seeing that clip i actually sought out that band's complete recorded output (like 4 songs i think) from some record shop in manila (which i think is the only place the band charted, oddly) and i kind of secretly love it. ohh, poor ricky. *facedesk*

  • He was good and cute. Maybe like most British groups they become more famous in the States for some reason.

  • Typically British (bah... English) to constantly BRING DOWN A PEG those who are famous. I think it's really good that Ricky Gervais had his moment with Pop. The world is full of talented people trapped in the wrong job or situation anyhow...

  • I can see Jay Leno doing the same thing! Watch for it, because Ricky's got a movie, "Ghost Town", out and he'll come on the Tonite show to plug it! I can't wait!

  • OMG!

  • He hates seeing this haha!

  • i'll end the angered cries & the twisted joys that rage in a bitter heaaarrrt

  • no harm to see rickey brought down a peg...ee gets all red hahaha!!!
