  • hundreds and hundreds of hands online? calling oop with T3o? instinctively knowing your hand is good? No, all the draws just happened to miss. Live poker makes you want to laugh.

  • LOL, Kostas is the biggest fish.

  • Nice call indeed

I think Jason considered the human tell

    this is not possible online

    I think

  • aaaaaaaaaaaa so fucki**g beautiful ! I love poker !

  • i thought the guy from france would of punched him in the face while shaking his hand because what he did at 3:00

  • title kinda spoils the tension of the video

  • Retarded Frenchman

  • Let me explain the logic behind the call.

a)Insta all in - No time to process how/what the river card affected Mercier. If he took a while then shoved or bet, Mercier would have probably laid it down. Basically, timing of the all in. Mercier knows he didn't have time to think the new change in board texture through. Therefore, most likely a bluff.

b)If Mercier thought that his 5 was good on the turn, that river card changed absolutely nothing. He has to follow through on the river.

    c) Euro donk

  • fag call

  • Then as chance would have it he was @ the Grand Opening of the Poker Room I work at, and he was nice enough to discuss the hand with me. He is simply one of the best players around and a great guy, a lethal combo and he deserves everything he has.

  • True story, I was in a $1500 event down here and pulled off a sick bluff on Jason. He raised cut off 2.5x and i flatted out of BB w/67 off. Flop came AQx 2 diamonds, I check raised him when he made what looked like to me a c bet. Turn came a diamond, and I bet 1/4 of my stack, he had around the same and flatted. River paired one of the x cards, I sent in 1/2 of what I had left. He tanked for 3 minutes and laid it down. Those 3 minutes I was in hell trying to figure out wtf I was thinking.

  • @NoHoldeMeBack LOL wtf would you check raise 6 7 off you're so bad. You just made up your mind from the flop to go with it till the river regardless of board texture changes and that's what donks do. GG

  • @MegaROFLPWND actually you are 100% wrong. When he called the flop it was obvious he either floated me or called lite. The turn being a 3rd flush card made my check raise look more believable. When he called the turn I was not sure where I was at, but I had him on a high Diamond draw so when the river paired, I figured it was mine to take. I did not shove cause I felt like it would look like what this guy did, and my bet seemed to get the job done.

  • @NoHoldeMeBack anybody can bluff. It's just that essentially making a move on that board with 6 7 off... There's nothing +ev or profitable about it risking your whole tournament life out of position.

  • @MegaROFLPWND Yes anyone can bluff. My move had nothing to do with the cards I was holding, it was about defending and showing that I was not going to get ran over. 2nd, I risked over 1/2 my stack, not my "tournament life". This hand was very profitable it terms of my stack, and my image that I was not afraid of anyone. This is not your simple Bluff, it was a complex hand against one of the best players in the world. If you sit around and wait for AA, that's great.

  • @NoHoldeMeBack I also played w/ mercier at foxwoods, pca 25k and 5k where I came 2nd he came in 3rd. It's better to play better players in position with complete air than out of position that's all.

  • @MegaROFLPWND Of course its better to be in position. I thought the timing was good since no one had shown any resistance to him coming over and running over the table. You know there is sooo much more to poker outside the cards.

  • @MegaROFLPWND But its been my experience through the years that hands like these can be the difference in cashing. With having to show the hand, it made everyone second guess who I was. The typical "random player" is not capable of executing a bluff like this one. I proceeded with my play based on Jason is a great player, and that he was more then capable of putting me on a big hand based on the way I painted the picture. Anyways, don't really need to defend myself to anyone.

  • @NoHoldeMeBack Dude.. I will pay for your plane ticket to Vegas, if you promise to bring as much as you want to gamble with me.. You just got called by a pair of 5's!.. lol..

  • @roo7227 You did not read thread. This is not me. I was discussing a hand I played with Jason were he did not call. Learn to read troll.

  • @NoHoldeMeBack I know how to read, as evidenced by the 2 posts I HAVE WRITTEN.. See how that works, brother?.. BTW, offer still stands, I'll buy your plane ticket to Vegas, if you bring and promise to lose at least 10K.. I'll get you a room at the Bellagio, too..

  • @roo7227 That goes to show how ignorant you are. As long as you PROMISE TO LOSE 10k, you mean bring 10K to play. Learn how to communicate.

  • @NoHoldeMeBack So, that's a no then?..

  • the way koskas betted way too much and doing it so fast it had to be a bluff but only good players will notice that good one by mercier

  • Fresh fish!

  • 2:40 No watter in his bottle :D

  • @memberAAA haha yes ... i do it often too if im nervous lol

  • @memberAAA good read

  • Flop goes check check on the flop

Guy overbets the flop on the turn

Goes all in really fast on the River and stands up and paces around frantically while starting and trying to be intimidating.

Sounds like a bluff to me unless he's doing theee ole reverse psychology method by trying to give the classic signs of a bluff to hide the strength of a hand. He couldve easily had 8,7 right there and hit the trips on the end. That's what I wouldve put him on and I wouldve folded

  • instant jam on the river is stupid, it sorta makes him unable to rep the 8 as that is the only thing that he is reping, no bet on the flop would make him have small chance of having a J and. and instant jam pretty much just makes his hand too polarized, and actually not able to rep any strong hand either cause you'd think abit with your strongest hands too. dude fumbled and jason had the good skill of picking up on that

  • @geneticlottery Except he checked in the dark before the flop.

  • Hundreds of hundreds of hundreds of hands online. Haha, yeah maybe a bit more than that, wouldn't you say?

  • I would have gone all in on the river that fast if I was holding JJ, to disguise a bluff and I would have pwned Mercier

  • great call. Too bad he's gonna die of alcohol poisoning :(

  • must be a slowroll, the moment the guy stood up mercier would have known he had nothing, lol.

  • "That's what I was thinking in my head too..."

  • great call but very bad play by frenchie

  • the call was more incredible because this was a break out for Jason...yeah, he was doing well as treysfull on PStars, but this win and specifically this call made all the difference...that and killing Dario with some nastiness lol...

  • wtf is a "middle pin straight"...goodness gracious these Euros...

  • @NLHEGambler1

Its a hand where you have 4 of the 5 cards needed to make a straight, god you yanks lol :P

  • @survivalisme88 Not just 4 of the 5, but you need one card right in the middle of the straight as opposed to either end (aka open-ended straight draw).

  • @JMcH

An open ended straight draw still requires 4 of 5 cards :)

  • @NLHEGambler1 We call it a "gut-shot straight draw" -- where your straight can only be completed by one card in the middle of the straight. Can't imagine what they call an open-ended straight draw.

  • pretty insane, i woulda been like "oh your chips, i love your chips!" pouring em through my hands. pretty insane tho, that insta shove is the give away, would anyone really shove like that, ever? tho i probably woulda folded...

  • bad reaction by jason, poor sportsmanship, but still makes better tv, and hes not a bad fella normally, good call

  • The reaction is over the top.

  • I'm definitely calling, but only based on Koskas body language. Had it been replayed and been an internet hand, or been against a better player that gave nothing away, I'd muck without question. But you can tell blatantly that Koskas doesn't want a call.

  • Not sure I would have called there. Maybe.

Either way, thats a tough call to make with bottom pair unless you have a solid read. Mercier obviously felt good about his read and made the call. Great job.

  • jason mercier suckx and i cant stand his face

  • This is not an incledible call that all in was stupid, could see he was bluffing

  • I could make that call- he played it too quickly. SO SO bluffy.

  • All in was too fast

  • the power of the cinco!!!

  • koskas, u gotta check raise there buddy not just raise ridiculous amounts

  • Tbh, I think Koskas played this well, albeit for a very quick all in move. Pretty much anyone else would have folded the winning hand (me included), which meant this was a damn good (and gutsy) bluff imo, and whereas I usually agree with the general consensus of comments, I disagree with the 'Koskas played this one bad' feeling here.

  • haha at first when he won this hand he was like "yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah i raped you" and in the end "thank you" lol

  • thats not really a impossible call. bcoz mercier had chips, even he lose the pot, he still had 1.3m chips. and koskas just made a terrible play.

  • Koskas played bad,but still it's excellent call by Jason

  • brilliant call....unless he was behind....lol.

  • I didn't know Daffy Duck was a poker commentator?

  • French always lose

  • commentator has an annoying lisp......

  • Outstanding call ! Idve folded in a flash, so easy for opponent to turn over 7-8 or A-J, KJ.

  • if he bet half of the pot in the river , ht take the pot

  • I call this on 1$ sng on pokerstars 7 days a week twice on sundays.

  • I would have folder faster than a fat man sitting on a cheap chair. Jason must have had a read on this guy or figured that the guy missed his straight and bluffed. Wow. Daniel Negreanu said that Jason was toughest player he ever played against and this hand shows why.

  • i would hav folded like a mother i think for that money i would just sit out and watch lol

  • It's a great call - but Koskas's body language screams weakness, especially the snap jam on the river. Imagine if he actually had top pair or a similarly strong hand - there's no way he would have played the hand like that.

  • its a brilliant call

  • live read much...

  • Enter barre Adresse You Tube :

Sexy Girl and Guns - Ferrari and Supercars - Poker 2012 Two Party

  • easy to reed him, but.... loooooool what a bluff and what a call wth that spot by mercier, Nice vid!!!!

  • The guy was shitting bricks...

  • 3:08 WHAT IT DO!!

  • @nova1128 Someone already posted that. I mean come on...

  • the fist pump and scream is a little excessive?

  • one of the easiest call , for people who knows poker ;)

  • @blinddaterix one of the stupidest comments from some who knows nothing about poker

  • @stankeyleg00 lol , do u see how that fish went all in? :) watever...u don't know sir these kind of things about poker. i play since 2004 by the way, and winning (but that's a dif story) end of conversation.

  • people don't usually instabet with a good hand, that's why betting fast is a tell for bluffing. When you have a good hand you think about how to get the most money possible

  • This discussion lacks the fact that he bets 220k into a 187k pot IMMEDIATELY as the 8 hits on the turn. What can you really put him on here? Koskas' demeanour is just another ball game...

  • if you sort of think about it, he's repping more than just three eights. mercier calls on the turn means mercier either has a draw or, well, an 8. So he's made his hand into 9 7, 5 7, a boat, or any combo-bluff. i think mercier is a nice player and he seems to be a nice guy.

  • i love looking at the comments on great calls like these and see all the youtube sharks that write "standard call" or "easy call"

  • @dan11588 haha me too, they play a few hands on Zynga and suddenly they are pro's

  • I feel like Im watching a nature channel

  • Mercier is fantastic poker player

  • yeah, it´s a call like a boss

  • wtf? u see the 8 and am all in lol!! fuck u moron

  • mercier is a fucking beast.

  • seriously i think easy call , koskas showed that many signs that he was bluffing , flat call preflop check in dark , over bet the turn more than the pot , then quick shove on river as soon as card hits table normally indicates a bluff / picked off well by mercier

  • @mrbooyeah easy call hahahahahahahaha seriously

  • @dothequack yes was an easy call , played texas 23 yrs now and could easily make that call ... im a winning player live and online / and got the stats to back it , sharkscope me if ya think im taLKIN SHIT / MRBOOYEAH / PKR POKER... PEOPLE WHO CANT CALL THIS ARE THE 80% MUPPETS THAT LOOSE TO ME DAILY HAHA

  • he didnt know that this was not pokerstars

  • LIKE A BOSS!!

  • jason mercier runs extremely well 2 say the least but he can play aswell great call sir

  • hundreds of hundreds of hundreds of hands online LOL hope he means per hour...

  • koskas looks like drug addict

  • yup, four handed is great.

  • 2:40 drinking an empty bottle... fail

  • Mercier is awesome but he looks like a crackhead he needs to eat more lol

  • yes koskas played this hand very bad but i bet that most off the guys here screaming that they would have called are talking crap.

sitting behind your computer with no pressure at all watching a hand where you can see both hands is nothing like the real situation.

No matter how bad this guy played this hand, 90 % off the internethero's probably would have folded this hand.

  • @1984socrates Way more than 90 percent would of folded, no one could or should normally be thinking of shoving with bottom pair, but then again koskas's All in looked like he over bet so much that it could of been an outright bluff, great call

  • @1984socrates 90%? i would say 99% :p

  • @1984socrates 99% buddy, not even 90...

  • @1984socrates 97.8%

  • @1984socrates PRE FLOP lol

  • @1984socrates: True story, i'm not going to lie, I like to think of myself as a superhero in the Poker world, but my hands go up here it would have been folded.

  • EASY CALL

  • When i watch videos like this one... I feel I can be a fucking pro.

  • The title should be: incredibly bad bluff by Eric Koskas

  • its an obvious read. lilke obvious.

  • Comment removed

  • and this guy is a pro.. omg!!

  • @GinXYZ So i guess u would have made that call easily wouldnt u? :P

  • !awesome!

  • HE IS DRINKING FROM AN EMPTY BOTTLE!! LOOOL HES ABOUT TO BLOW UP HAHAHAH

  • @superaxel1981 hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • How did this donk make it to fourth? He's full of tells.

  • @enzown he's an online player

  • lmao "what it do, what it do!"

  • What it do!!!! 3:05 lol

  • What it do!!!! 3:05 lol

  • how did koskas last 10 minutes in this tournament never mind end up with almost on mill in chips??

  • stupid bet, stupid call

  • wow commentator's lisp is so bad he even pronounces the "f"-sound like a snake

  • it's actually an easy call with such a horrible bluff!

  • OMG what a fool, why did you have to stand up? :O

  • Whew! Glad I watched this. Now I know not to raise with 10 - 3, then push all in, with absolutely nothing. Good teaching moment!

  • amazing how bad some of these "pros" play sometimes.... this guy shipped off his entire stack with 10 / 3 deep in a big tournament. wtf?

  • koska keep on playing in pc poker..not live...

  • More like millions of hands online, and it was a great call by Mercier who is one of the best if not the best NLH tourney player around right now. Why is it negative comments always get the top comments? Koskas obviously played it like a donk but he was blinded by trying to outplay Mercier at all costs and it cost him, a seasoned pro like Mercier can pick up on these things.

  • One of the commentators is giving me a headache ;S Please bring in people who can speak properly :(

  • "Remember, these guys play hundreds and hundreds of hands online".

    Lawl.

  • what an old crook ! lol If I would have been mercier I would have just stared at him thinking '' You motherfucker .... '' after seeing the card

  • look at his face its obvious that hes got nothing LOL

  • when he stood up, I think he gave it away

  • #7 #7 #7 #7 #7 #7 #7 #7 #7 #7 #7

  • Not really as much of a good call then a good attempt of reading the body language of Koskas, but i guess thats how poker can work :L

  • 2:40 drinking from emprty bottle

    2:58 handshake FAIL

  • i would have re raised the all in

  • Kind of made it a little obvious when koskas went all-in then stood up...

  • Koskas is a loose player , but bad time to make a bluff

  • the board didnt make any sense, he didnt play it as trips, and that final 8 really screwed him, the non believer wins ! not that hard of a call imo

  • This French player made horrible acting

  • IS FATHER MERCIER<3

  • "WHAT IT DO?!"

  • brilliant or stupid call..? ok brilliant

  • terrible poker playing by Koskas

  • @sutro19 he shouldnt go all in .. it was unnatural

  • @sutro19 if he bluffs an eight ...

  • @sutro19 It's called bluffing

  • @99sjur i'm not saying that bluffing is bad playing. at the beginning Koskas just called instead of re-raising, and checked on the flop. then all of sudden he went all in, and starts to stand up. I mean, come on? Sit the fuck down. Don't express feelings when you are playing. He starts to walk around like a twat and drinks out of an empty bottle at 2:42.

  • the all in is too quick

  • @extremleise actually the quick all in is fine, it's standing up, moving left and right nervously that ruins it. I mean ok even if you're short stack against someone with a much bigger one, if you all-in so fast you better appear more confident

  • SI es muy buen call pero también es verdad que se le nota el farol, da muchas pistas y Mercier si pierde aún puede sguir jugando... pero buen call ojo.

  • Typical european poker player. Too aggressive with hot air, and they get owned in the long run.

  • @Tehui1974 there are about 50 different countries in europe, all with completely differential cultures...if you really think there is a "typical european" then...well I don't know what then, go figure :) ...

  • @lordhuebi Yep, I admit I'm generalising. But having played a lot of Spanish, Italian & Eastern european players on line, they do tend to be rip, sh!t & bust players.

  • @Tehui1974 don't get me wrong though, it's a terrible play...it's typical fish, not typical european...cause again, there is no such thing

  • @Tehui1974 Ridiculous statement...

  • Koskas was far too demonstrative in his actions...standing up immediately, pacing, continuously drinking. His eyes and body language suggested that he was desperate to win this hand...so desperate that he's probably bluffing. Mercier took his time to fully read that and it paid off for him.
