  • Oh, yes!! I've been trying to find this for awhile now. It was in my 'favorites', but yt deleted my channel. I absolutely LOVE this song.....

  • you are fantastic! very talented! :)

  • Very good work. You ought to be making a good living from it. I also love the quality and textures of the film. Please tell me what kind of video camera/equipment did you use?

  • Can't help myself.

Listening to this over and over again.

    Loved this song!

  • How can I not love this? You just touched my soul.... I wanna cry now.

  • great song !!! very inspiring,thanx Molly !!

  • oh man!what a haunting melancoly melody!very splendid!thank you Ms.Molly for sending!

  • exactly Molly... the Beatles were famous for putting in off key changes in a progression.. i dont hear anything wrong with any of it.. and being he wrote it, he can do anything he wants to with it.. and screw all the naysayers

  • enchanting

  • Great job. A great use of tension and resolution to convey the mood.

  • Yes, exactly what I was going to say! ;)

  • Great minds and all that lol.

  • Bravo Derek :)

Good hookup Molly - brilliant actually :)

  • JD Justice brought me here. And he is right. This is a great song. With all these weird single tones (don´t have the right word) that make it so special. Brilliant. I wonder what was first. the playing or the lyrics? I guess you compose on piano.

    Love it.

    best wishes. André :-)

  • I should have read JD´s comments.... So the dissonant notes make it so special. I took the song among my 9 top faves.

    It´s truly so great. That´s it. :-)

  • Wow! Thanks JD for sharing this. I love your voice Derek and the music is beautiful! Great find :)

  • Thanks to IDjustice for the heads up...brilliant tune man...peace...

  • Very nice! I agree w/ JD on that unexpected dissonance - it makes the song! But try to NOT accent it - it has enough bite on its own (in later passes it blends a little better). Also, that note may be a little out of tune on your piano, which makes it a little more jarring than it needs to be. Play it a little softer, but definitely play it!

  • This is very good!!

    Thank you JD for sharing!!

  • very nice! *****

  • I'm really floored by this song. It's just.... excellent. I love that unexpected 'off' note, it perfectly sets the feeling expressed in the lyrics.

  • Derek, I checked your website and eight (8) songs are listed on your CD 'buy' page -- but 'Mine' (this song) isn't listed...!

I really really want to purchase a recording of this song -- is there anyway I can find it?? I think this song is perhaps the best original song from an unsigned artist on all of YouTube. And I am not being the slightest bit sarcastic.

    Thank you for the music.

    JD

  • Brilliant talent :o)

  • Derek, where can I buy this recording?

I noticed it's not on your website.... thx! :)

  • jd, i haven't got the whole online purchase thing going. It's on my cd (which is on my website). I need some advice on selling mp3's like you do... what's the best way? Cheers!

  • Link an ebay Sell zone from your Ebay account into your website. check with xara Web desinger librarythey have such stuff. Just get the software. By the way your website is not available as it seems

  • absolutely amazing like i said before, but i would take out this dissonant note, it breaks the harmony in a way...

  • I have to respectfully disagree and say that the dissonant note is one of the best parts of this awesome song.

  • OK =)

I guess you hear a lot of jazz...

for my ears (i hear and make a lot singer-songwriter-pop and classical music) it sounds kind of arrested for the harmonic devolution (but only in the intro)

but i don't say, that this note makes the music worse, it's a beautiful song! :)

  • I will say because the harmonic build-up is underdeveloped at the beginning the dissonant note is not appropriate; however because it is part of a larger idea and he correctly follows it with step-wise motion the dissonance adds a lot of character. I love it and would love to hear it developed more..especially the blues riff at 1:50...
