If I play mostly urban games with my friends, should I first buy a pistol then after I get used to it move onto a rifle? I'm working two jobs so money isn't that much of an issue. I can buy a pistol right now and by the time spring/summer comes around I'll have made well over $2000(I'll downgrade to 1 job over the winter because the business closes during the winter thus losing one income but retaining the other).

The best way to start Airsoft is with a simple, easy, decent quality AEG. Pistols are good, but even in CQB, they aren't quite enough when you're up against players who can dump hundreds of rounds down range in seconds without reloading.

Look at ICS, Tokyo Marui, G&P, G&G or King Arms for decent rifles, and then buy a pistol from Tokyo Marui later on.

"blowback" simply refers to any type of Airsoft gun that features some sort of recoil mechanism to simulate real guns more.

Gas blowbacks are powered by gas obviously, and Electric blowbacks are AEGs with some form of weight attached to the mechanism to give it recoil.

As you can CLEARLY see from this video, player mostly use standard electric rifles, with GBB pistols, and spring sniper rifles.

In fact, only people living in the absolute North West of Scotland are any further than that. So distance or "not having a site like that" isn't an excuse.

Similarly, in the UK most sites allow players from 14 and up, and some allow from 10 and up, so age is also not an excuse.

@hivrhivr Best setting is obviously when each shot you fire flies as straight as possible for as long a distance as possible.

Finding that setting is different for every gun, every FPS, and every pellet weight, so a TM M4 shooting at 280FPS with a 0.25g pellet will have a different setting to a CYMA AK47 shooting 400FPS and using 0.3g pellets.
