  • Cool! (: Thanks for the video

  • Mike -

Was there a geometry car in this train's consist?

  • @DonGomez007

This train was used to measure the deflection of bridges to make sure that they are safe. No Geometry car. The FRA had already inspected the track and bridges and deamed them to be safe.

  • @railroadvideoguy Thanks, Mike ...from what I can discern topographically, the areas (in the beginning part of your clip) can be double-tracked to run commuter trains on.

  • @DonGomez007

The video starts near Caufield lane. The new crossing at Caufield lane is double tracked per SMARTS request.

  • Glad to see some people along the tracks were excited! All the best wishes for the NWP to continue to grow!

  • i knew i heard a train go by my house. Awesome! The trains are back :) they pass near my neighbor around 5:00

  • Good gracious!!

I live here in Petaluma! If only I had known of this train, I would have come out and documented it on camera. How fortunate I found your video!

  • I hope you make more videos of this line. I love to watch it unfold under my eyes. Thank you !

  • There is more on youtube just search for it.

The last train was a work train that carried new ties in 2009.

  • Great to see the NWP back in action again. Could you post a video of the train at trackside? Was this really the first train to go over the line since 1997?

  • @cforssi No, a work train carrying new ties went through in 2009.

  • Awesome video.
