Too bad we can't hear it but it's interesting and only tow misconceptions in the text. Emily's father did not discourage her social activity. She had an active early social life. The reclusiveness began in her twenties and was more due to "life being so shocking" to her. Also, her father verbally advised her not to read the books that HE bought her!!! Isn't that shocking? He was trying to be a cool 19th century dad while upholding his "propriety."

This was so fun to watch. I teach ED to my 8th graders... I love how you have fun and still represented the story well.
