I watched Katie Couric during the 2000 and 2004 elections, and both times when it looked like Bush was winning, the unmitigated hate was quite apparent on her face. You could see it in her eyes.

Katie Couric is my new hero! She deserves an award in journalism for not giving in to this uncooperative interviewee who is trying to con American into electing her as VP. Couric showed a quick wit and an ability to ask hard-hitting, yet important, follow-up questions while not accepting anything but straight answers. Couric is journalism at its finest.

What tmz and the conservative whiners here don't understand is that Couric is using Palin's own empty rhetoric to make her point.
Palin went on fox news a week after her hysterical interviews with Couric, and said what the mccain campaign TOLD her to say -- that she reads (among other things) The Economist.
Of course, this is about as likely as George Bush's claim that he reads Camus for pleasure.
