Drummer Dave A. was 10 times better than any of their other drummers since. He's sweeping and smooth---yet, still has heart and soul. His pregnant pauses do not encroach on any of the other members; but rather support, and serve them. His drumming is foundational and makes all the other members look better...
Dave Kruesen came up with such awesome drum parts.. Dave Abe. was able to make it 10x better.. I love matt cameron, but he "simplifies" parts that are meant to be technical but purposeful, the songs sound DO much better with the Daves playing on drums..
I remember this was the first time I was exposed to PJ when I saw this live in 1992. I've been looking all over for this video and I'm grateful to see the performance again. Thanks so much for posting it.
@JohnFO5 Brother. one of the best comments ever ! They should have never dropped Dave...Wow, yes, the energy is mad sick good...Thank god Eddie and co are still with us...and yes Dave Ruled !
@ThePhysicsGun He's an excellent drummer, of course; not putting him down. But, to me Dave is just more rocking and I enjoy his style more. He seems to fit best with this early era of PJ better than any other drummer.
such a powerful version... ouch!

I bet Eddie Vedder didn´t know back then that he would be considered a living cultural icon in 2011.

I remember watching this on SNL in '92 and knew right away after watching that this band was amazing and I had to see them live.

My God, this is so ridiculously rocking. Is it possible to listen to this and not want to jump around the room? Wish PJ still had Dave on drums.
