If he got his engine centered the plane probably wouldn't fly nicely. It normally needs right thrust because of torque and this plane in particular some downthrust to fly straight and level.
True ;-) however, my P47 amongst other models I have, have their engines 'angled' in order to counter torque effects. To have the hub centered, the engine is fitted a tiny bit higher so the hub, pointed slightly downwards, seems to center nicely. You know what I mean? (apologies for the somewhat poor English but I'm Dutch)
But still this particular Yak11 is an awesome plane with this radial! Keep it in one piece and safe flying ;-)!!
Such a great aircraft!! I just checked the pictures on JTSO, incredible! Once I decided to buy exactly the same aircraft and let the idea go due to financial circumstances but believe me, after viewing your photoalbum... it tempts again! I love the metal finish! Awesome job my friend!!
My actual building project is the F100...wich will be in metal finish too...and very much precise finish...already 1 year of work and 6 months yet...a project for nuts...like me and i hope like you :-)
I will publish all my work on the website...and soon in english version :-)

See on jtso website all the details. I have built a new enfine cowl with a large spinner...the plane is faster and the engine visually centered :-)

@FABA100 Ah, OK? Is the space within the engine cowl too small?

@FABA100 Is that just the light at 0:25 making the prop look like its bent? Very cool model--Congrats from the USA!!

Merci !
