  • heat it best way

  • Next time, try this. Keep the car level and on the ground. Set up the removal tool ( a stronger one) without a cheater bar. Position the removal tool at the 3 o-clock position. Use your floor jack under the removal tool and jack away. No hassle, no cheater bar, no problems. Use the entire weight of the car and the ease of a jack.

  • went through two snap on 3/4 inch impacts and it finally broke loose. broke the anvil on the 1 st gun

  • Fuck i got the same probs with me celica i wanna smack the bitch in the face

  • So this was a year ago, what DID work?

  • Im doing it with my crx right now, was looking around for tips on how to get it off, haha

  • look at my axle nut video

  • my cousin drives a 91 honda CRX-HF, and once we had to change the axle. I used my snap-on CT4850HO and a 32mm 1/2" Drive socket. The car was jacked up setting on a stand and the wheel was removed, I held the hub in one hand while I removed the nut with the impact using the other hand. Don't believe it I can show you a video.

  • this was a really cool u tube video the way they should be

  • That's when you set the parking brake and get an impact wrench. Having the same problem with a car I am working on. But setting the parking brake keeps the car from moving.

  • That's a nice breaker bar

  • cut the nut with a angle grinder go not to far of corse.. than us a hamer and chisel to seperate it i have got the same problem :P

  • 84 Tercel SR5 - Just bent my breaker bar, and yes while heated with a torch. Impact wrench = no go as well. Finally had to cut the nut on BOTH sides and chisel that mofo off. Took about 5 hours.

  • i had one like this on my acura..

snapped my 3/4 breaker bar and nearly broke the 36mm socket..

    what a joke.

i ended up cutting it off with a dremel. made 2 cuts, one one each side, then beat both sides off with a hammer and chisel.

fuck the kids with air tools..air tools are not regular tools in most peoples garages..they require a decent PSI air compressor as well as the tool itself..

the guy in the vid exerted more force than an impact air anyway..

  • @thatsmybucket haha just broke my dads 3/4 bar and nearly his draper expert socket lol. word of warning i am using aircraft tools so these are used to high impact and they aint doing it!! oh and he aint got the impact as air does but hey. im gunna cut em both off

  • grrr i remember that on my crx shit was on there i broke 2 bars! lmao

  • tried holding the brake?

  • nice breaker bar extender you got there

  • i had to cut the axle in my integra and hammer it out the other way

  • Don't you just loathe crappy tools?

Personally I'd use an impact, 3 sec. & success

  • you idiots. U could of gotten hurt. I did the same thing with a 36 mm axle nut off a Subaru. my 1/2'' 18 "" breaker bar snapped, it threw the end into my arm. After that episode, I now only use 3/4"" sockets/breaker bar for 30 mm and over sizes. :)

  • Dumbasses !

  • DId you have to unstake the nut to remove hte spindle nut. I am thinking of using an impact wrench but my impact wrench is not strong enough any ideas

  • Head to the gym, son!

  • I have an axle nut just like that!! O.o What a pain!!!

  • LOL! thats how my car is to me right now.

  • PB BLASTER!!!!!!

  • I FIGURED IT OUT! took me forever. We bent 2 thick bars before we thought of this. Put the brake pads and everything back on have someone get inside car and hold brake pedal down while you do it. We bent 2 thick bars before we thought of this. came off easy.

  • Hope my crx isnt like that

  • I had this problem with my 91. i finally just got the torch out.

  • It would help if u guys put the wrench sideways for more leverage so gravity can u help.

  • spray some kroil on it first.. let it creep in then have someone step on the brakes..

  • try a tourque wrench??

  • Torque wrenches are meant to accurately apply an amount of torque to a fastener. They are not for the removal of bolts.

  • I heard a windows mobile phone int he background lol

  • no its a blackberry and iphone

  • @westendpimp2003

Yeah man,its the battery low noise.

  • this aint that difficult a concept people....head the nut up with a torch. to use an impact wrench to get it off...all that happened here is the nut rusted itself to the shaft...heat and impact work wonders in a situation such as this

  • didnt work either..

  • @JDM94civic or you buy a better breaker bar not one that bends also i got an impact that can take wheels off of a grader with no effort and its a half inch it probably could have done the job i was always lucky when i did mine because every time i needed to replace the transmission witch was oftin the nut was always easy to take off

  • @rocket3551 impact wont work unless its rated at 2000lb

ive tried on some. but what will. heat with a welding torch for a shit load until it glows red. then quickly. and i mean quickly freeze it with some freeze off or water hose. do this a couple times and it will come off pretty easily.

i did this after breaker 3 of those breaker bars. luckily autozone took them back

  • axle nuts+rust = bitches. lucky chuck norris lives across the street.... used his hands

  • put some W-D40 on that shit lol

  • didnt work haha..

  • Have someone in the car hittin the brakes and use the same tool but dis time hop or kick it.. it should break loose worked for me

  • hey my ass have some one pump the front brakes hold it in and then breAK IT LOSE.OR STAGGER 2 LUGNUTS AND BREAK IT LOSE THAT WAY.

    FUCKING NEWBIES

  • how the FUCK if get that tight

    shoot them in the head..

    please

  • it finally came off. it broke three snap on air guns, four breaker bars..

  • Thats for men not for kids.

  • hu? for men?whats so for men here ?just a freaken axle nut lol

  • y u just didnt step on it from a angle

  • fuck it man.. im tired of working on that damn car.

  • Gonna need an impact gun. Even with that, i had to gun for atleast 30 sec to a min before it came off lol

  • get a big huge chisel and a hammer , make a notch into the axle nut and then smack away until it breaks loose !

  • my saturn was the exact same way
