hi how are you getting the power supply for the stereo and amp?? because in my stereo i am using 5 car Batteries 2 Boat batteries, and 3 Battery chargers, so when im Getting 16 volts with the chargers at full power.. but wen i turn it up the voltage drops alot like to 11 volts What can i do??
connecting the pos to neg and neg to pos doesn't blow it out. it just goes backwards instead of forward and forward instead of backword and it doesn't sound that good
@rawiristone For an amp that big, I would not recommend using a computer powersupply. As ATX computer power supplies are designed to have an even load. As in, if you look at the molex cables there is 4 wires. Those 4 being 2 negative and 2 positive. One is +12v, +5v, -5v and -12v. With all these louded, the PSU will run a standard voltage of about 12.2-12.5v. However when hooking up a car amplifier, your only using +12 and -12v. Thus the load is not even and your standard voltage is now 11v
@rawiristone Not only that, it looks like this amp is putting out some really good power. I doubt hes using a computer powersupply to run it. And if he is, then he could possibly damage the amp and or have clipping. Youll have a hard time finding a computer power supply that will power an amp like that without spending more money than its worth to just buy an amp made to run on 115V/220V
no all i did was take the yellow wire witch is you positive 12 and one of the two black ones just twist the acc and power together and put them to the yellow wire and the ground to the ground and you set!
do u no how to repair amps

use the boston acoustics woofer cooker song to blow it. hey, at least you try to blow it fair and square, not by plugging it into a wall socket.

that's called reverse polarity. in case you want to reverse mount the sub. it won't make it burn out faster.
