Okay I call bullshit. How in the FUCK could an Evo beat a GTR? Not only does the GTR have gobs more horsepower and torque than the Evo, it's lighter. They usually use Porshe gear boxes as well.
I love Evos, but there is no way on fucking earth that it would beat the GTR unless it was strictly tuned for the strip and was pushing well over 530hp and the driver of the Ultima is extremely inexperienced.
@mattxhand First off, the EVO could easily have more HP than the GTR. GTRs can be built with the recommended American Speed engines range starting as low as 300hp. Secondly, rear wheel drive with big horse power = hard to get off the line especially when you're not on drag radials and not a professional driver. Thirdly, the video cuts out very early. Who is to say the GTR didn't overhaul the EVO once it got going and was able to put it's power down? Tuned EVOs can easily run low 9s, GRTs can't!

The GTR is a kit car. It has many options available, namely the engine. The BHP figures comming from an Ultima are using large american corvette engines etc, not tuned jap scrap which can get the same acceleration etc out of 1/2 the HP.
I've drove an Evo VI. Horrible cars. Horrible tacky jap things. But they aren't slow, in fact they're fooking fast and would have my 321 BHP M3 anyday.
Ultima gtr > Evo ...stock... both cars heavily modified then its anyones game. I'm sure some wingnuts can cram a twin turbo LS7 and into a Evo while cutting out some more fat to get it close to the wieght of the utlima... Real Q is what do you wanna be seen in? IMO Utlima gtr is allot more sexier and shows your pride in what you drive. Since you have to build it yourself
You could take the engine out and the wheels off and the EVO would still weigh more than the Ultima!! The Evo IV weighs between 1300-1500kg depending on the spec. The Ultima is just under 1000kg. The Ultima doesn't have a "stock" configuration either. The body/chasis is a kit, and you put what ever engine you like in it. Common engine specs range from 250bhp to 720bhp using the recommended engine/supplier but you can find many examples on youtube with up to 1600hp.
Hey I can also put two motors in the Evo and a jet engine on the roof and see how far you can take it,also I don't know of many 16 year olds that can afford 30k plus for a car and insurance to boot you need to work a lot of hours to pay one to twelve hundred a month for a car,the Evo is a serious car for real drivers.

i come from a background of driving fast cars the shop i used to work for had a 10 sec. 1/4 mile evo. it was really fast. then again it was not an evo anymore. it had the fightex motor in it. the ultima gtr. you guys for get that its a kit car the hourse power can range from 300hp to 800hp if you go with the motors that are recomended by ultima. sure you can fit diff. motors but im just sticking to those.now put stock evo280 hp ultima 300 hp sorry to say ultima wins thats if the evo is stock

1) The Evo's big brother is not the Veyron. Bugatti has nothing to do with Mitsubishi.
2) The Ultima GTR 720 is quicker than the Veyron. Not overall faster, but it's quicker to 60, to 100, to 150, and 0-100-0.
3) I have driven three Evo's. All of which have nothing once you push them past their limit. Again - drag strip's for faggotry. The Evo is not the best car for the money, but go on thinking that in your little world. ;) Have a nice day, kid.

Don't underestimate those evo tuners either. AMS has evos dynoing over 1000hp now and run low 9's high 8s in the quarter. Put those two cars on the track, see what happens then. 45psi evo will have to stay above 7k rpm just to be able to spool out of a corner

On slicks. Not street tires. The GTR does it in 2.6 on streets with fewer horsepower. It's a simple power/weight ratio. The GTR is about 1100 lbs lighter. The 'Vette is a hopped up street car, the GTR is a streeted up race car.
