  • Don't worked to me.

    There is a hot pixel.

Do you know where can I get the Canon Service Software for the 60d?

    Thanks

  • it worked on my 60D ,i could not find the camera body cap so i did it with the lens ,and on a normal position

  • Thanks very much! It worked for me! Now the pixel is gone!

  • i love you man... that's dope... i paniked big time.... now i just have to get my videomaterial right.. grkajödlkfjasölkjfadösklfjasö

  • Thank you mister trippy.

  • Praise you fine sir!! Thankyou very much

  • Youre the best guy ever and if i was gay i'd marry you. if it were legal also.

  • Wow! Thank you so much man! I had a cluster of about 3 or 4 near the center of my sensor, and I do a lot of video work, so it had to be fixed. After the re-mapping, they're all gone. Now, I know that it wont work every single time, but hey, worked for me!

  • Worked perfectly on Canon EOS 550D. You just have to switch the camera to M (manual) mode, so the software displays manual cleaning option in sensor cleaning menu. Otherwise you'll have only automatic cleaning option which doesn't solve the problem.

  • fantastic tip!

  • Worked on 5D Mark II , had 3 or 4 bright green pixels in one spot, and they're gone). Thank you a lot!

  • I´m from Brazil and I would like to thank you. Fantastic!!!

  • Hélio. Yout explanation os fantsstic. Congratulariam! O am triângulo to buy a canon d 5 for 900 euros. What do You think? Thank you

  • Worked like a charm on T3i. Can you please mention this option is available only on Manual or AV mode in your description? It would really help others...

    Cheers...

  • Thankyou so much! You've totally saved me loads of money. I owe you :)

  • Seems to work! o.o :-)

Thank you so much! This helped a lot...

Take a look at my Channel if you like ;-)

  • OMG Charles.... you are a life saver!

  • No shit Sherlock! That's the most basic thing you can do with a camera... Wont work for video though.

  • A hot pixel is just stuck, it can still work. A dead pixel won't be fixed by doing this.

  • Worked like a charm.

  • Thanks sooo much

  • Holy shit this worked! Thank you. Saved me sending it off.

  • thank u. god bless:)

  • I cant´belive it ! it´s works !!!!!! I was very sad because my 7d had a red pixel, I found this video on internet, I did what you explain and now the red pixel gonne ! Thank Charles, thanks from Costa Rica !!!! ( did you know how to fix the ugly noise at iso 100 ? ''')

  • Oops nevermind I was in movie mode hehe.

  • Damn, my T3i doesn't have this feature...

  • @Noomba88 It should be in there. I have a T2i, and I used the manual sensor cleaner to fix a hot pixel.

  • yup - anxiety attack, swift google (first hit - congrats) and the white pixel in the middle of my 7D is now GONE. Awesome. Thanks.

  • ....and?

  • I just got a new Canon EOS 600D with a hot'n'stuck pixel. I was not in the mood to get back to the store and try to make a DOA (Dead on arrival) on it, since the company have 3 times to try to fix it.

Well...your video helped me solve the problem myself! Great! =) Thank you so much.

Btw..is this affecting the over all image quality around that area that was fixed, and what is "remapping" really? =)

    rEgs, Fredrik

  • Thank you very much, Charles. Your video helped me a lot. I had a red pixel right in the middle of the sensor, where most faces are in the picture. It really bothered me because it is brand new and I had bought it in Canada (I'm in Brazil now). Anyway, the red pixel is gone.

  • You are my hero, it worked on my 60D! Thank you!

  • Thank you man, thank you a lot! This works for mine canon 60d...all done in 2 min. Unbelievable! I'm happy again :)

  • Just tried it on my 5dmkii....I'll run some tests, and hopefully this works...red pixel, and my fingers are crossed.

  • I remembered that I watched this vid when you first made it and now it helped me fix my camera! Thank you Charles!

  • I was suffering because of a dead pixel on my new 5D, read about a guy who had to send his 7D to Canon 3 times to get the problem fixed. I saw your video and was skeptical that it would work, it looked too simple. It worked on the first try!!! Thanks a million. The Internet is great thanks to people like you. Thanks again.

  • white pixel on 7D... and it's worked! thank you!

  • well, it helped me to fix my blue spot on canon 7d, thx

  • Worked on my T3i that I just got for Christmas. One stuck red pixel is now gone! Looks like Canon remaps the sensor while you pretend to clean it.

  • Worked like magic,

I was already planning to send the camera to the lab.

    Thank you!

  • Funcionou certinho para mim, ha alguns dias apareceu um pequeno ponto branco (hot pixel) no canto inferior direito das fotos e videos da minha 7d. Fiz o que o cara descreveu e o pontinho sumiu.

  • I believe it worked, thanks!

  • Dude you rock!!! I did a night shot of my buddies G35 with my trusty 60D and I noticed a dead pixel after the shoot in post. I cringed at the thought of using my S95 as my workhorse for my new photography business I just ventured into. Thanks ever so much

  • Thanks for this tutorial. I had a couple (two or three) red dot on my 7D. I have done this trick several times, but one, stubburn red dot, just won't come off. Too bad :-(

  • I can't understand those guys who dislike this tutorial. It works for most of us. If it's not working for you, you should not be frustrated.

  • Great. It works on 600D. Make sure you remove the lenses and put the body cap, also switch to manual mode (M) in order to have the manual sensor cleaning option. Do exactly what you are told and chances are great. Thanx for the tutorial,

  • HOW DO YOU FIX DEAD PIXELS ON LCD TVS?

I'm putting this in all caps because I've been looking everywhere and I can't find any good video results.

  • yay it worked :D thank you sir!

  • This worked for me! Thanks a million. So glad to not have to send out my camera over the holidays!

  • AMAZING! Had a white hot pixel for a year in a lot of good movie footage. That is now GONE! So simple it is stupid. I am just wondering what is actually happening to make this work. I like solutions, but I would like some understanding of why too. Regardless, many thanks. Gotta like Google, eh?

  • Thanks Charles really helped me out!

  • Why you couldn't do that with the lens on?

  • Thanks - worked like a charm :) On a side note; isn't it awesome how we can find an answer to virtually any question online? Fantastic resource, indeed!

  • Thank you so much! Worked for my 550d. Take care! :)

  • What was wrong with how he put the cap on the lens on the table?

  • thx a mill!! worked on my 5D2 just fine! Greertz from Bas, Amsterdam _ The Netherlands

  • what do u do if it doesnt work?!

  • Neat, that worked.

At higher ISO, it will reveal any unnoticeable dead pixel at dark area. After doing Trippy's tip, they just magically disappear.

I really want to know how Trippy knows/discovers that trick. Coming from Canon repair specialist or what?

  • Thank you very much, For the first time, I think It is too easy to get work on it but when I followed your steps. It worked. Amazing! Thank you.

  • you look like bam margera

  • WHAT A RELIEF!!!!! It worked on my 7D, it had a white dot for a while, i thought i was ruined!! Thanks a lot! Long live the internet!

  • Thanks. It`s really works!!

  • IT WORKED FOR MY T3I !!! THANKS A MILLION !!!!

  • IT WORKS MAN! I LOVE U!! WORKED FOR MY T3I VIDEO, AT 60 FPS I SAW THE GREEN PIXEL AND NOW..IS GONE..THANK U MAN

  • Probably a silly question... but was wondering if you would know what might be causing my 7d to have noise on low iso like 100... seems like I can see very many small dots even through the view finder and then they appear as noise in my images?? Any suggestions would be an AWESOME help.. Cheers.. P :o)

  • Fixed mine too. 550d only 6 months old. I was fuming to find a hot blue pixel just off centre on the image. Did this "fix" and its gone Thanks so much. :)

  • God bless you man!!! Fucking worked for my 550D, I had 2 dead pixels now it seem to be zero. THANK YOU!

  • man you fixed my cam ! thanks a lot!!

  • Worked perfectly also on my 7D.

    Thanks dude !

  • i am using canon EOS 1100D and i follow all your instruction but unfortunately the dead pixel does not go away

    so damn bloody sad

  • Thanks.

It worked for my Canon EOS 550D.

    I'm so very happy :)

  • HELL YEAH! It worked for my T3i!

  • Dude your a legend! Worked like a treat on my 60d...

  • Is that a minecraft character in his name on top of the video...?

  • YEAH! Thanks a lot!

  • YIPPI it worked i have a 5d Mark II and iv spent a lot of money recently on mysetup i saw a dead pixil and i felt if iv got a disease or something saw ur video did the trick

    thanks a lot

  • Hello Trippy, I've been heavy into video with a T2i that I've had for almost a year. Yesterday, I saw this big dead pixel that was never there. It was much worse in video than in still shots... ruined my day...I know, I know, get a life... but then I came across your video, tried it and it worked like a charm. Thank you SO much for this vposting. It really helped me out. I'd have never have thought of that and its much appreciated.

  • worked for me on my 60d. :D THANK YOU

  • Didn't work for me and my 7d... Red hot pixel in the center of the screen still there :/

  • @KupraR

hey man i have the same problem have you been abe to fix it?

  • Love you! <3 solve it!! You got a subscriber! ;D

  • You are a star..i had been doing this treatment but i had been advised to do it slightly different .i had been keeping the lens on with the lens cap.taking a 30 second exposure shot and then checking for bad pix.then doing a manual sensor clean for one minute before turning off .wasnt told to leave for 30 seconds after either .i did your method and seems to have worked.out of 10 shots found only one bad pix ..but ill keep doing it if it annoys me again .if i ever meet you i owe you a pint dude .

  • Worked! Thank you :)

  • It doesn't fix. It basically covers up the bad pixel by the surrounding pixels. But it's still better then not doing it unless you can get Canon to fix it.

  • Thank you!

  • Thanks, it worked. Saved me a lot of trouble.

Now I wish i did this before the video shoot.

  • Worked for me on my 550D thank you!

  • I'm posting this on my Canon 7D Facebook group.

  • Awesome! Worked for me. I just experienced a "hot" pixel from stuff I shot last night and was considering sending my cam in. Thanks again!!!!

  • Awesome advice!

I have a Canon T2i that was littered with hot red pixels when taking night photos.

I tried the method used in this video and it worked!

    Thanks for helping. Fantastic!

  • Worked 2 times on my 550D. Excellent!!

  • Thanks! worked on my t2i

  • thenks

    worked on my 7D!!!

  • THANKS, WORKED PERFECTLY WITH MY EOS 600D!!

  • it doesn't work on my canon T3 i'm gonna cry, now what can i do?

  • @uvola Have you tried more than once? It has worked for me 2 times on a 550D, or could it be that the T3 has no remapping process when cleaning the sensor??.

  • @uvola

aside from crying what did you do since mine wont go away either

  • I have a nikon dose anyone know if it works?

  • This worked on my 7D!!!

  • what if mine has a red dot, instead of a white dot like you said, on the same spot of every picture? is that also called a dead pixel?

  • worked thanks. now i can go back to super clean footage.

  • Thank you amigo you save my life!!!!

  • I bought my t2i last summer. I saw this video when it was uploaded.. but I had no reason to listen to the instructions. But about 30 minutes ago, I caught a white pixel just sitting on my face in a video.. I've never been more devastated by a tiny white dot in my life. lol

  • Great advice! very usefull, I was losing myself wen I found a black dot on my 550d videos, and try everything to erradicate this "dead pixel" when just was dust on the sensor!! all this pixel persecution make me forget the basic solution using the blower to clean the sensor

Was not my problem but your video rocks and sure makes lot people happy again, Thanks!!

  • Great advice! very usefull, Im with tripylsd, why doesnt put anything about this kind of solution in the manual! I was losing myself wen I found a black dot on my 550d videos, and try everything to erradicate this "dead pixel" when just was dust on the sensor!! all this pixel persecution make me forget the basic solution using the blower to clean the sensor

  • Thank you so much, I just got the T2i today and saw a bright red pixel. I tried this and now it's gone :)

  • Good, this works for me (60D).

Why this isn't in the user manual? :\

Theres no mention about remapping the CMOS doing this.

  • @tripylsd Because Canon wants you to send it to them so you have to pay a small fee :D

  • Im am amazed that ...and astonished in these days that... these issues can be clearly scene G...in an effort to be complete...you don't need to search out on the street when.............. .........you've got cool friends like these

  • @NJevaNJ

Hah, slap af, det var mere ment som, at han ikke er skide heldig med sine kameraer ^^

  • Fixed my T2i! For some reason my T2i had a hot pixel only in the video, and not on pictures. Anyway, it fixed the video. How does that happen to only the video though? Doesn't the camera use the same sensor for photo and video???

  • Fixed my T2i! For some reason my T2i had a hot pixel only in the video, and not on pictures. Anyway, it fixed the video. How does that happen to only the video though? Doesn't the camera use the same sensor for photo and video???
