  • I don't know why we give the Indians (NO OFFENSE) the $3,000 / month to get piss drunk, while the "white men" of Halifax did such racist shit to the blacks of Halifax and to Nova Scotia. They should give that $3,000 / month to the blacks of Nova Scotia for the way we treated them.

  • @Ian74263 u should give $3000 to both cause they did alot to both races

  • I met a person from Nova Scotia, he was really racist, now i know why.

  • My poppa was born in Havre Boucher in 1927. Raised in Antigonish. His Great Grandfather grew up in Africville. He used to tell me stories all the time of the quiet grace and music of this place. So nice to randomly stumble upon this. Thanks for posting it.

  • I am white and my Dad preached at the church there when he was going to Pinehill University.

My sister lived on the hill just above Africville and had a very good frind that used to cut thru her yard on her way to work. It was sad when the government displaced them in 1964.

  • There were 2 major resettlement areas. One is an urban ghetto downtown near Gottingen Street. The other is called Preston on the outskirts of Dartmouth. There's only one road in to this community and it is separated from the city by a few kilometres of forest.
