I am grateful our country was able to say (this time), "I am against the war but not our warriors" but that doesn't seem good enough. I didn't write the words to the slide-show, but I do completely agree with them. I don't think it means that Soldiers get angry at civilians for being against the war. It's just hard for some of us to come home and see people protest against what we're doing over there. I cannot speak for every Soldier, but it's kind of like a slap in the face to see people with signs like the one in the slideshow "For what noble cause?" - especially when we were sent over there to help the innocent.

I know that there are soldiers who are going there for protecting civilians, and I respect them for that, but I also know that some went there and committed war crimes, and everybody knows that. I would love to be pro-peace, but that's just not the way it is. There are bad guys out there, and we as Soldiers have the duty and honor to defend against those "bad guys" - so when people protest against us, it hurts. I didn't go over there to kill people, my husband doesn't deploy to kill people, we go to fight for the freedom of the people.
I'm not sure why, but the reply/commenting this is being screwy. But you are right, being against the war isn't being against the Army - it's just the way that some people go about "being against the war" is often seen as offensive, because we are fighting for our country - and when people from our own country don't support us, it does hit a nerve. There are some things in this Country that I will never understand, a person that becomes a professional athlete has the opportunity to make millions of dollars for PLAYING A GAME, but the person who spends countless hours, blood, sweat, and tears making it safe for those athletes to play that game cant even get a simple THANK YOU from some people in this country. An individual soldier is just doing what his job entails. And if that means fighting for what his government sends him in for then he will do it. My husband has been serving in iraq for almost a year. He missed the birth of his son, and has only got to see him once when he was a month and a half. He is alomst 10 months old now. This video makes me very sad, because our troops sacrifice so much, to make our country what it is. I am truely thankful to all soldiers, for everything you do.

I didn't write the words to the slide-show, but I do completely agree with them. I don't think it means that Soldiers get angry at civilians for being against the war. It's just hard for some of us to come home and see people protest against what we're doing over there. I cannot speak for every Soldier, but it's kind of like a slap in the face to see people with signs like the one in the slideshow "For what noble cause?" - especially when we were sent over there to help the innocent.

Don't get comfortable with your family members being home. They aren't coming home because Obama thinks the war should be over, or that they need a break. The ONLY reason troops are being taken out of Iraq is so they can be transfered to Iran!!! We're about to witness the worst war america has seen since WWII. The death tolls will be very high.
I support our troops, I do not support our government nor its EXPLOITATION of our troops and their families!

@beeny95 See your completely missing the point of the video. It is not the individual soldier's decision to go fight. It is up people a lot higher up on the military chain of command. An individual soldier is just doing what his job entails. And if that means fighting for what his government sends him in for then he will do it. I bet you don't have the stones to do anything remotely risky for the sake of others.

My husband has been serving in iraq for almost a year. He missed the birth of his son, and has only got to see him once when he was a month and a half. He is alomst 10 months old now. This video makes me very sad, because our troops sacrifice so much, to make our country what it is. I am truely thankful to all soldiers, for everything you do.

Supporting the war and supporting our troops are two different things.
War is brought up by the clash of various geopolitical ideologies.
Soldiers don't decide to go to war, they are just doing the job they chose.
They don't pick where to go, our leaders do.
Always support the troops no matter if you do not support the reasons you think the war is being held.
And yes you can both not support any war and support the troops.

Thanks for putting this video up. 1 lost 6 in iraq recently, my whole family is military based. A good portion of my family is decesed now. I train hard everyday and after my junior and senior years im joing the ranks. Take my place as the 98th member of my family in the military. Thanks and good luck out there to our troops. They need our support and wishes. Prayers and love to all soldiers.
