in the manga this part is called 'The lust' which may be refer to a theory that ulquiorra lusted for orihime and wanted her for himself which is the whole meaning behind his fight with ichigo.personally i don't think he 'loved' her but you can't deny that she changed him and he grew feelings for her even if they aren't as strong as love. he was lonely and she gave him the 'heart' he was looking for'

The only reason why I still cling to Bleach is in hope that Ulquiorra will come back and give time for his character to develop more. @tokko456 No. I think he just finally understood the concept of love which was unknown to him and since Orihime was always kind and loving, he associated the concept with her.  So I don't think he fell in love, but understood what it was finally.

He basically just meant that he grew to understand her feelings, her faith in her friends and loved ones. He finally grasped the nature of the human heart. That's all it meant. "Her heart.. was in my hand" means nothing more than "I finally understand"

The only meaningful and emotional ending Bleach has ever had. This scene is not only sad because Ulquiorra was my favorite character, but because his chracter grew as his life went on. He grew from an emotionless monster to a being of understanding at the time of his death. I've really lost a lot of interest in Bleach with him dead because he was such an amazing character. Grimmjow still missing doesn't help much either.
