@ugguyan3131 e flat and d flat make some sad songs... But really it's all the musician. Some of the saddest songs on a harp i've ever heard were on a d major. Look up the song 'Digging my potatoes.'
amazing playing! well im a guitarrist, and today i had the amazing idea of maybe buying an harmonica, i went to guitarcenter and this harmonica seems the best, its 30 dollars etc. Well do you think i should buy it? i would o leanr a new instrumemt, thanks alot
sweet man...i've always wanted to buy a minor diationic...they've got the darkest but sickest sound...i'm more of a major diatonic kind of guy myself...i dunno what do you think...should i buy 1?....darn things aint cheap...
He does it AGAIN...!!! Just when I thought I had seen him work a blues harp...the man does this INCREDIBLE piece of classical music. All I have left to say are three words...MAR...VEL...OUS...!!!
I've been focussing more on the blues licks cds (beginner and intermediate/advanced) which will be
out early this coming week. Those should help you move on to the next step. ALso, i'll be releasing a building blues solos and improvising on the harmonica CD very soon.
Can anybody helpt me? I can't get this video to play. (A couple from others won't play either but most do play) I tried the utube instructions to un/reinstall the player but this still won't play :(
I can hear some reminiscences of the great Howard Levy Do you use to listen to him ? Theses harp sound really great in your hands Wonderful playing as usual !
I have heard him play on the Bela Fleck cds and love his playing. I've never tried to recreate his sound however. He truly is one of the greatest if not the greatest player alive. Thanks for the compliment.
That's a D Natural Minor Lee Oskar (not to be confused with the D Harmonic Minor Lee Oskar).
I really like both of these alternate tunings. The Melody Maker tuning is also very handy (a combination of Paddy Richter (another favorite) and Country Tuning).
just got a Dm Lee Oscar as my first harp. coming in the mail. Tho all the teachers on youtube say a C harp is the way to learn...

This is the kind of stuff I always wanted to play, but every harmonica I've ever gotten my hands on was Tremolo.

just a smidge glassy at 1:08, or was that on purpose? Not meant as a criticism, this is as close to musical perfection as I can fathom.
