  • 0:43 Fist Pump xD

  • Now THAT'S what I'm talking about!

  • Every time he sees a bad guy its like BAAAAM!

  • Poooowdered Toooooast Maaaaaaan!

  • They don't make them like this anymore. It seems like a majority of the toons today are targeted to the ADHD demographic.

  • Space Ghost was the coolest! Definitely one of the most underrated superheroes if you ask me.

  • The scene where the saucer craft ejects and blows up the robot ship is the only animation sequence that you'll never see in any episode of 'Space Ghost'. This was actually part of the 'pilot' which sold the show to CBS. Much like the animation sequence in the 'Jonny Quest' closing where the tribesmen are throwing spears at Dr. Quest's jet... that too was part of the 'pilot' which sold that show to ABC. You will never see it in any episode, yet both of these examples are amazing animation!

  • Why does the monkey wear a mask? So the other space monkeys won't discover that he's really another monkey?

  • SPPAAAAAAAACE GHOOOOOOOOOST!

  • Seems like Mr. Ghost should meet Brewster Rockit, SpaceGuy !

  • Did Space Ghost rip off the Green Lantern?

  • @MrAdvancedAtheist no, he ripped off space... and ghosts :P

  • @MrAdvancedAtheist lol green lantern ripped off space ghost.

  • I think he's better off doing his talk show =)

  • he's a ghost IN SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE!!!!!!!!!

  • God, I love that theme.

  • thank god for boomerang

  • MIchael Bay must have loved this intro as a kid. :P

  • The hell with the cartoon, the intro theme is funky as hell!

  • Space Ghost is kind of an Outer Space Batman,SG has his meta power bans and BM has his utility belt.

  • Great design work on this animated series by artist Alex Toth.

  • @thunderbay63 If some of the fans didn't know,Alex Toth did the model sheets for various Hanna/Barbera cartoon shows. Super Friends,Herculoids ,Samson and Goliath ,and Johnny Quest.

  • @thunderbay63 ANd the episode to see is the one titled "Nightmare Planet", where it looks like they handed Toth the script and a single instruction:

    "Go nuts."

  • Space! Space! SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE!!!

  • 0:42 Why did Zorak explode?

  • The way they yell SPACE GHOST reminds me of POWDERED TOAST MAN!!!

  • @BrockTheBrick Thats because Space Ghost and Powdered Toast Man are voiced by the same person, Gary Owens.

  • @thedrknghtno1 Really? I always thought Powdered Toast Man was voiced by Billy West. Never knew that.

  • Now, this is how to hook the male cereal set demographic (ages 5-12): use lots of primary colors, limit the vocabulary of the voiceover to a total of two words, show almost nothing except Space Ghost zapping something or using some crazy powe; include a cute, older-sister type blonde and a monkey, and have nothing stand still except in the instant iss about to be blown up by Space Ghost.

  • Hahaha i find it so funny that both Space Ghost and Birdman have to dramatically scream their name at the beginning of each episode.

  • every time something blows up it makes the same soud LOL

Space Ghost for ever and not Birdman he is bald LOL

  • 0:44 oooo i want a farting laser too! :(

  • I think i'm getting Senile! Even though I watched this as a Kid, I now find this video HILARIOUS!!!.... Everything gets blown up.. Ok, the old man with ray gun.. but Zorak just opened a door and WHAM!!!!! he gets blown up. Too Funny (tears in my eyes.. lets look at it again.. shall we)

  • Now THAT"S Saturday morning!

  • SPAAAAAAACE GHOOOOOOOST!

75% of this intro has Space Ghost killing random aliens.

    Which is awesome!

  • @KDavisJr86 YEA! Killing aliens to a cool jazzy beat. SWINGIN'!

  • I like his new tv show better.

  • I saw this before I saw Space ghost coast to Coast. :D

  • thje 1st super hero i idolized..i even pretended i was him :)

must have been 5 or 6 back then !! i am 22 now and if they showed it now i wud still watch it

  • 1 Lava man did not like the Phantom Cruiser.

  • HOLY SHIT!

    BRAINWAVE!

    MEMORY WAVE!

WHEN I WAS 4 AND 5 I WATHED THIS, PROBZ YOUNGER, HOLY SHIT! OMG, BEST SHOW EVER, I REMEMBER THE MONSTERS, OMG I LOVE U THE PERSON THAT UPLOADED THIS

  • To the executives at ABC,NBC,CBS and FOX,please spend the money to make good Saturday morning cartoons like Space Ghost and all of te Hanna-Barbera cartoons and Looney Tunes instead of giving us crappy sick reality TV shows. These cartoons are classics and should be saved. Not only put the cartoons on Saturday mornings but in primetime.

  • You a bad dude when you sing your own name while going into battle!!

  • Space Ghost is AWESOME

I use to watch this on TNT, TBS & Cartoon Network, but Thank GOD I can catch it on Boomerang

Gary Owens of TV's Laugh-In Fame did a great job as the voice of Space Ghost

God Bless Gary Owens on his wonderful performance and God Bless Hanna-Barbera and CBS for a job well done

this show was out when Man From U.N.C.L.E., Batman & I Spy were on the air and this show debut in 1966 along w/H-B's The Space Kidettes, The Original Mission: Impossible and The Original Star Trek

  • does anyone know if i can watch all these online?

  • That one person who gave it a thumbs down is frakkin' Zorak!

  • There's a sound effect in this clip I want to download. At :25 and :43 there's a high-pitched pulsing whine when SG uses his powerbands. Anyone know where I can download that SFX?

  • Space Ghost was always one of my favorite cartoon heroes in the 60's (and whatever DNA waste decided to parody it into an idiotic talk show should have his skin removed with a belt sander) and I still enjoy it today. SG and Jonny Quest had the two coolest themes of their age (Spiderman ran a shadow-close third) and it still rocks!

  • nothing space ghost couldnt handle with the liberal application of a power ray........

  • Pretty violent stuff for a 1966 cartoon

  • After this, he became a talk show host.

  • im so glad i have the complete series :)

  • I remember wathing this on Cartoon Network in sweden when i was a kid, Love Space Ghost!

  • does anyone have this theme music in extended version?

  • There was a revival of "Space Ghost", with new episodes (but less violent than the original 1966-67 series) that aired on NBC around 1981 or 1982.

The Phantom Cruiser was redesigned, looking more like something from "Star Wars".

  • Rockin' theme music....I never get tired of it!

  • I here you Archanel101567 this is one of many that I also enjoyed when I was young. Superfriends sucked I do agree on that. However they did do a good job on the Justice League. By the way have you seen the trailer for DC Universe game I find it awesome.

  • I loved watching the reruns of Space Ghost that aired in the 1980s, when I was kid. I don't understand how we've gone from from great cartoons like Space Ghost and the Challenge of the Superfriends to garbage like Spongebob Squarepants.

  • SpaceGhost was one of the most violent cartoons I can remember as a child.

All the badguys would suffer horrible deaths - and it was GREAT!

  • @manofsan I got's to agree but I think Herculoids was actually more cruel. The Dad use to tell the villains he was going to kill them before doing it.

  • That's what we need in a set of opening credits -- no setup, no backstory, no real narration -- just SG blastin' shit. It hooked ME.

  • This is one of my all time favorite cartoons!! They need to bring the serious space ghost back! LOL

  • Um you know when I was younger I thought he was some future batman or something and guess what I still kind of think that he does look like batman

  • it be cool if they made a space ghost movie

  • Hoyt S Curtin (composer for Space Ghost, Johnny Quest, Yogi Bear, Flintstones, Jetsons, Huckleberry Hound, etc.) wrote some of the most memorable pieces of music for cartoons, though it's sad that he himself and his actual name is overlooked. If I went up to somebody and said "Hum the Flintstones theme?" then they'll sing it, but if I asked "Do you know who Hoyt S. Curtin is/ the composer that wrote it?", then they'll be like "Hoyt who?". Anyway, wonderful and catchy theme song.

  • Space ghost is an awesome super hero but an even better talk show host...

  • love space ghost theme very much

  • your right. Same as the Heculoids. But where I live, they both were on [TV] Saturday mornings in the mid-1970's I think on NBC? And the came on a hanna/barb. hour long cartoon show. 1966....I was'nt born til' 1967 lmao

  • OMG I loved good ole' SPACE GHOST when I was a kid in the 1970's! I never missed one show! They came on every Saturday morning, along with the Hercu-loids cartoons. All the sci-fi cartoons from this era seem wayy better then the crap our kids are watching now! The toon- Star Wars 'clone wars' are pretty kool. Now theres nothing like space Ghost or the cartoon Star trek series from the 1970's.

  • @robrcr8 space ghost was actually a cartoon show that started in 1966.

  • this toon gave me the creeps when I was a kid :) but nevertheless, brings back sweet memories.

  • I wish they would make a movie!!

  • TV theme music sucks today!! Cartoons even had better theme music back then!

  • Seriously Spinny Shtuff

  • The 80s cartoon revival of SG was good, too. And so was the origin story DC Comics did a while back.

  • Space Ghost is ultra cool.

  • i want this as a ringtone SO BAD, can't find it anywhere. If anyone can help me with that i would be very grateful

  • @domirae I have it. where do I send?

  • @sdpm1975 :You're guys are awesome!

  • @sdpm1975 me too please!!!! savingcharlie@yahoo.com

  • @domirae I have the actual wav. file from the Hanna-Barbera cd.

  • @domirae Try recording right off the speaker. I've done it succesfully with Speed Racer, the Cylons(original show) saying, "By Your Command", and various sound effects. I even played a DVD of King Kong Vs Godzilla: I would pause it before the copter pilot yells, "Godzilla!"-recorded it, then fast fowarded to a particular Godzilla 'scream'. except for a brief clicking noise, I got the result I wanted for barely any work without paying fees as some web-site charge. Good Luck!

  • @domirae: 1. Get the original DVD

2.Get a program to make and take sound files off of a DVD

    3. Make ringtone file off of DVD.

  • Most of this opening was used in the ending credits in the American version that was on TV back in the 70's and early 80's. It's still used in the ending credits for

the version they show on Boomerang as well. It's like they just reversed the opening and ending credits and made a few alterations.

  • where is brak?

  • 0:41 ZORAK!

  • I always thought "Space Ghost" was a cross between "Superman" and "Flash Gordon".

  • Got any clips of "Teen Force" , with Moleculad, Gravity girl, and Kid Comet?

  • OH MY GOD! I've been trying to think of the name of this cartoon for YEARS. Is that the one where they had like some kind of "space" transports? White one, pink one, and can't remember the next one? They weren't motorcycles...some kinda little..space transport lol

  • Yes, that's the one, Teen Force. I've also been looking for years to find it LOL

Turns out the Redheaded Girls name is Actually "Elektra", Not Gravity Girl. There was a mistake on wikipedia when I looked it up originally.

Teah they had the "Sky Cycles" wich the He-Man Cartoon later "Borrowed" the idea.

The Girl has psychic powers, the Red clothed guy has super speed and the African American guy in the green suit can become intangible like "Kitty Pride" from X-Men.

  • the girl, the red clothed guy, and the what what guy? is it wrong to say black man? what the hell? is it the collor of theyr skinn? YES IT IS!

  • Space Ghost wasn't always a talk show?

  • But where the hell have you been in the last 44 years? of course Space ghost wasn't a talk show! in the original series from 1966, he was an incredible superheroe that defead great galactic villans like Zorak, Brak, Moltar, Metallus, etc...

  • There is talk of a live action version movie.Vin Diesel is my choice to play Space Ghost.

  • when i was younger i just thought lame copy of batman. i'm from europe so i wasn't used to the fact that there are thousands of spandex/mask wearing guys out there

  • @HimikoHimeX I guess that makes you "eurotrash"

  • @HimikoHimeX Im from Europe too and i was used to it...where the hell do u live ? :P And i live in a Europe country nobody knows anything about(Estonia), so thats not an excuse lol. :P

  • @HimikoHimeX

I thought that too, but then I discovered that Space Ghost came before the Batman Animated series design, which is what I thought it was ripping off

  • I love his camouflage
