The original Funkadelic is like a gateway drug to psychedelic rock. I got into Parliament Funkadelic in 1979-80 and had evey LP at one time. If you love Funkadelic- check out the bands they immitated. Then you will understand where they were truely coming from, cuz this documentary doesn't tell it e.g. the liner notes taken from the Process Church, then Metaphysics translated into slang and introduced as Funk philosophy- ref (Good Thoughts, Bad Thoughts). These dudes were NOT ignorant
@Daintytwinkletoes Dug the hell out of Jimi Hendrix. They dug the hell out of alot of psychedelic bands, cuz they sound like half of them. Fifty Foot Hose, MC5, Sun Ra, Sly, Jimi Hendrix, High Tide, the list goes on.
this documentary is the reason why i am addicted and madly in love with parliament funkadelic. i saw it late at night two years ago and haven't looked back sense. i really love pbs
@TheNewsoul2 u funkin right it was made for us the real kid funkadelics how it's spose too be tho anybody that want's in is welcome the funk belongs too us all aint that right brother

Great documentary. I'm glad they mention drugs rather than avoiding it.
chrisrave 1 year ago
@chrisrave there is no avoiding drugs if you're talking about P-funk. the P stands for pure
