  • This is Zak Starkey's main crash, isn't it, two of these and a 22" for a ride

  • The bell

  • will berman from mgmt uses this ride

  • hey im looking for a large ride that has alot of stick deffinition and a certain 'ping' when i hit the bow (not necessarilly the bell) but i can also use as a big crash that dosnt spurge out with overtones like most rides do.

about the stick deffinition thing, think of Danny Carey style syncopation on the ride cymbal in his songs with Tool and the sort of sound he gets with a Brad Wilk Rage Against the Machine sort of big crash sound when i hit it hard as a crash

  • Travis Barker uses this cymbal. So to all his haters who bought this cymbal without knowin that can begin to complain about it now......just so you know........T Barker ftw.

  • @MBblink182 travis barker uses an a sweet ride brilliant. there is even a video that proves it

  • @iplaythedrumsalot Yes, he uses the sweet ride as his ride, and this crashride as his right crash.

  • Does anybody know if this thing can take a Bill Ward/Black Sabbath type of beating?

  • Is this a great ride and crash or just a decent one of both? Because im looking for a crash-able ride that i can use for my primary crash and ride, but im afraid that this isn't enough of a ride (if you get what im saying). I'm able to get one so i'd appreciate if you could answer!!!!

  • @BennyVengeance888 same problem i'm lookin' for a 22" avedis medium ride to compare them

  • @habit1979 I think im going to go for the avedis sweet ride. More of a ping than the armand ride, but a better crash than the medium imo! I think.. :L Unless i can find a cheap k custom dark ride, which are apparently quite crashable too! :P

  • @BennyVengeance888 Don’t know if you mind me taking your question. I had similar concerns as you before I played & bought this model ride, me personally ‘guessed’ this ride had too much wash and lacked stick definition; I was wrong & obviously surprised, In my humble opinion this K ride has excellent control stability definition & clarity in regards to sticking. And its crash is vast, and like DrumCoalition said below, “Heavenly.. And this is from somebody who owns a Med Hvy weight ride.

  • @LukeDz1 Not at all! And thanks! That clarifies things a bit. :) Just another question if you dont mind? I've been torn between choose Zildjian K\K Customs or Sabian HHX. I was then considering a mixture of both but kinda decided against it for two reasons (both of which im not sure about..) One: Would they mix well? and Two: Alot of people have said that the K's dont project like the HHX's do.. Don't know if you'd know anything about the HHX's but any help would be great! Thanks. :)

  • @BennyVengeance888 Well as a matter of fact I own this ride with a set up split between zildjian and sabian majority sabian HHX evol. HHX, Yeah they're loud! 1)In My personal set up K and HHX mix very well in terms of volume, but that’s considering this ride is big. 2)I have to check my facts but I believe HHX is within the same genre as the K's, since as you know zildjian 'begat' sabian. Weights are a factor in cymbal volume. You wont know until you play and compare them yourself ultimately.

  • i have one doubt. are crash/rides to have two cymbals in one, so that you can crash on the edge and ride on the top, or is it to ride on the edge? y don't know if i made my point but...

  • @BrianWilson720

crash/rides are meant to be played on the top and bell (as a ride), and you can crash the edge (as a crash).

I just bought the 21" version. It's heavenly.

  • if thts a ludwig drum set then i have the exact same drumset just i only have the crash ride

  • @buthandwilson unfortunately its a yamaha maple custom. but awesome cymbal

  • hey ive been wondering how you tune ur snare drums?coz it sounds awsome...

  • wobbly... like it!

  • uhm i bought this and its the best cymbal ive used , zildjian k gives a really nice sound and tell you the truth i didnt care who it was made for who played it , in my opinion of drumming for years this is worth it

  • I think he used ride crash

  • where is in that list ride crash? xD

  • I havent been able to find a thickness on the cymbal.... is it a med/thin?

  • This cymbal is thick.

  • @memphisdrumshop according to Zildjian it's medium thin. Great sounding either way. Great playing as always from the Memphis guys!

  • this cymbal won't let you down...the best crash ride yet!!!

  • man i want that cymbal so bad it sounds really good

  • It's a ride that is also perfect for crashing..I hope you're being sarcastic...

  • Hi ! I just got the 22" of this. Its great. But does yours have these little lines which are normally typical for Avedis cymbals ? Urs seems so much shinier... Greeeeets

  • This is actually a brilliant finished K cymbal. You can get a few of the K Series with the brilliant finish.

  • oh man such a different sound from these videos and zildjians site!!!
