@charmander42 Because you cant charge the customer to let the air out of the tires but you can to have a "service crew" come out and chop the roof off.
@studpuppy69 no no no the tow truck has on-board air, you run an airline back to the trailer when finished & U don't remove all the air from the trailer tires if you do U will have 1 hell of a time getting them to bead back up. I used 2 drive a tow truck so i know a little something about these things
@Neonflowful I don't care if your dad's a trucker, you're wrong. My dad its a trucker, I'm a tire tech, former bus driver and Class A CDL holder. When you break the bead on a tire and the full weight is on the tire, it will not air up. That is absurd to say it will. Go take the valve cores out of the tires on your dad's truck and then show video airing it up with the full weight on the tire. Then post it and get back to me.
That first trailer was probably totaled, but I don't know though I work for Great Dane at a service facility and the worst one I've seen we rebuilt from the floor up fron to back top to bottom all new panels, posts, roof and roof bows, doors and door frame all because a driver flew under a low bridge it took us about 6 months to complete for National Semi and 200 something hours later.
Heyyyy cool, I was thinking that they'd have to remove the tires from that one truck. I didn't know what they would have to do from there, but something told me the first step was getting rid of the tires.
the truck that went over the ice instead of picking the whole trailer up why did they not just pull it back wards they made that issue so much bigger then what it really was and the load would not have shifted either
Personally i would have put a chain around the lefthand side of the rear dollies, and dragged it sideways back into line with the cab. If need be, you can lift & drag at the same time to keep the trailer level.
exactly drag it side ways if you have a bit of a bald spot on the tires better then what they did or like i said to pull it backwards.i just got done truck diving school and another student did this exact same thing and the school also teaches heavy machinery they called in a backhoe and pulled it backwards problem solved
well trurth if they had abrain on the trailer the hook could have lowered the trailer then backed out ot instead of cuting off the roof cut the dollies off to lower the trailer another example on how towing companies go for the big buck.
They didn't cut the dollies off, they just removed the wheels, but personally i would have tried letting the air out of the tires first, that should have lowered the trailer by 8 inches.
This towman is the biggest piece of embarrassment there is in the industry. If a REAL towman did to a REAL customer what this jerk is showboating, he'd be out of business.
if you have regular cable you should still get this show it would just be on a different channel as long as you have the speed channel if not call the cable company and request it.
Some cable companies do not include "Speed Channel" in there basic package. You need to call the cable company to see what you need to do. I didn't see the show till I got "Disc Network" because they include it in the basic channels.
thanks for posting

FromOneMindsEye 2 years ago
just take the valve coors out of the trailer tires
piglett2195 2 years ago
@piglett2195 Then how are you going to air them back up with the full weight of the trailer on them? Easier to take the tires off.

How can a "Big Rig" leak brake fluid? They don't use it, they have air brakes. Something dosen't add up.
