Hey, has anyone else here seen the one Nova documentary on colonist insects? They talk about Bees briefly, then they focus on ants and termites. They even show how when one species of colonist insect takes over the colony of another, they adapt it to fit their species better eg. if ants took over a termite mound, they adapt it to suit ants, and if termites took over an ant hill, they adapt it to suit termites. Very interesting stuff, like watching warfare in its primal form.

They release a complex combination of pheromones at varying levels and strengths which are detected by by their antennae . These chemical markers tell other ants where there is food, danger, etc...

I don't think the purpose of this video or others about intelligent design is to dumb down the answer of everything to "God did it." The human was "imperfect" in its beginning stages. The ant, on the other hand, was. Therefore, the ant did not need to evolve.

Human instinct has also developed its curiosity, which explains all the things the human mind has discovered throughout the ages. The ant's instinct also protected it from dangers, but it has not evolved like ours. Simply, the ant instinct allowed it to interact and cooperate with its mates as described in the video.
I praise the narrator and his attempt to drive people into religion... but as always, there are some doubts and flaws here and there. For example, the narrator forgot to point out that ants aren't the only fossils humans have discovered. What of the many other THOUSANDS of dinosaur fossils? Did God create them too? Why don't we see them anymore? Clearly, they evolved and became extinct as time passed.
We all marvel at the beauty of God's creations, but to say that something discredits a scientific concept just because few understand it, and then take advantage of mass ignorance to promote one's beliefs is really obnoxious.

Ants may communicate, and ants may indeed have some sort of sole organizer, but the point is that according to Darwin, that only exists in MORE COMPLEX species, not lower ones. If there is a society of insects more complex and cooperative than humans, evolution cannot be true.

Interestingly. The beauty and mistery used for propaganda and as a sort of religious ideas advertizement. Seems to me so much old-fashioned, Done so many times by different groups to advertize various gods. And it always carries more or less hidden flaws in its logic. Logic and this dogmatic thoughts seem hardly compatible. Reminds me of a Soviet propaganda. I still don't see where its written on those ants "produced by Allah inc." But I of course don't mean to abuse anyone by saying so.

Hey, has anyone else here seen the one Nova documentary on colonist insects? They talk about Bees briefly, then they focus on ants and termites. They even show how when one species of colonist insect takes over the colony of another, they adapt it to fit their species better eg. if ants took over a termite mound, they adapt it to suit ants, and if termites took over an ant hill, they adapt it to suit termites. Very interesting stuff, like watching warfare in its primal form.

the 'proof' for ID in this is so flawed its stupid, any of the examples they used can come about easilly through natural selection, i.e they say becauase it uses spray that disinfects (DI) shit, its a god given ability, NO, all the other ants that tried this died out when thier fungus stoppped growing, however one day a queen produced young with DI through a mutated gene, those ants lived and reproduced, that type of ant now has DI :)

The words "Miraculous" and "Signs" do get mentioned quite a bit. It got a little old.
I believe in intelligent design, as well. However, I don't think the target audience here were empirical thinkers. It seems like a religious organisation put this one together.
The narrator spoke of humans farming for thousands of years, and later mentioned ants harvesting for millions of years. Just what exactly is the origin theory espoused by the authors?

yes... very much so. There is some good information in this video, but it simply isn't science. It only uses pieces of science in order to promote religious propaganda. Comparing ant societies to human societies is ridiculous. what?! It has been established for some time now that ants communicate with one another via chemical signaling. They release a complex combination of pheromones at varying levels and strengths which are detected by by their antennae . These chemical markers tell other ants where there is food, danger, etc...

I like learning about ants but leave the god and intelligent design talk out of it please. If you believe in God, enjoy it, your reasoning obviously led you there. However, if we keep attributing the reason everything exists and anything that happens to God, we won't make any progress.
Look at thunder, we can easily say God caused it but then we wouldn't have found out how it is REALLY made. similarly, if we keep saying God made the universe, what if we can also find out the truth behind it?

I don't think the purpose of this video or others about intelligent design is to dumb down the answer of everything to "God did it." Instead, I see it as saying; "their is a creator who endowed us with the ability and reason to understand everything about the world around us" as apposed to; "existence is a product of happenstance" many people here talk about learning and tolerance but are so quick to tune out when you may learn something about creationism. Yes, I agree, knowledge is wonderful.

Human instinct did not help it to survive as much as the other living beings around it during the prehistoric periods. That is why they developed the curiosity and ability to think. The human was "imperfect" in its beginning stages. The ant, on the other hand, was. Therefore, the ant did not need to evolve.

I praise the narrator and his attempt to drive people into religion... but as always, there are some doubts and flaws here and there. For example, the narrator forgot to point out that ants aren't the only fossils humans have discovered. What of the many other THOUSANDS of dinosaur fossils? Did God create them too? Why don't we see them anymore? Clearly, they evolved and became extinct as time passed.

Ant's cannot sacrifice, they are not large enough to have a brain able to understand the concept of sacrifice or selflessness. As far as i know ant's behaviour is based upon pheromones released from themselves and a need for survival. You can't look at ants as individuals, they form one big animal.

Ants may communicate, and ants may indeed have some sort of sole organizer, but the point is that according to Darwin, that only exists in MORE COMPLEX species, not lower ones. If there is a society of insects more complex and cooperative than humans, evolution cannot be true.
