  • Hi Thanks for your reply. I am having a very hard time finding the 3 in. hair clip you used to make the hair clip out of the feather duster. I have tried Wal Mart, CVS, Rite Aid, Sally's etc. just no luck. Any help would be great. Love the demo on YouTube by the way. Great job. F

  • Well, you've inspired me - I just went out and bought all the items and I'm going for it, thank you so much, you brilliant & crafty lady you!

  • Do you get the interfacing and scrap felt from a craft store? Never heard of those items because I don't really do many crafty things like this? Is interfacing just a piece of fabric? Thanks. Nice accessories by the way.

  • I love this video and have bought a feather duster to make one. Just cannot find the silver barret that You used for it. Any ideas?

  • @FRC1944 The craft store I got all the items from had both types of clips - or the drug store - have fun, good luck!

  • OH MY GOD A DUSTER SO CHEAP!! THANK YOU :D

  • WHat was the brown/tan fabric you used for the heart shape and on the smaller barrett? What is it called.Pls let me know

  • @naijabee that stuff is called felt a very cheap fabric, but you need to be carful how you use it, if you get felt wet the dye will run and stain clothes and skin and that stuff stays on your skin for about tree months i speak from personal experiance. LOL not fun

  • is there something else i can use instead of interfacing?

  • i've been trying to get the kind of clip that you used for the first design. is there a proper name for it? where can i purchase it online?

  • AWESOME! I've been looking for a tutorial like this for awhile.

    Can't wait to try it.

  • Hey guys I was wondering if you had anything cool to do with corks?

  • what kind of interfacing is this?

  • wow thats good

  • What kind of clip did she use for the first feather thing?

  • hopefully threadbanger is happy they supported obama so adamently... it'd make them about the only people still satisfied with their votes :/

  • Plumassiers - professionals who are skilled at dying feathers and making them into arrangements like boas, aigrettes, tufts and sprays for use in fashion and interior design.

    Nice work.

  • what is innerfacing

  • construction paper would probably work just as well.

  • @puppies3rock Its a types of material that you attach/sew/glue to fabric to make it stiff like if you want a collar on a shirt to stick up or what ever~ =3

  • I love those! ^.^

  • I have found that hot glue doesn't stay too well. Try using all purpose "super glue" Something a little stronger than hot glue.

  • THANK YOU THREADBANGER!!!

  • wow thanks going to make these for xmass this year.

  • oh heyy!

    brittany!!

  • omg. this is now my favorite video! im gonna make so many feather accessories!!!

  • The feather hair ornaments are classically called 'fascinators' I don't know why or where it originated, but that's what they're called.

    Cheers! *snip snip snip*

  • I LOVE CORINNE!!

  • amazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzing!!!!

  • what was the black thing used?

  • the base for the first clip? it's interfacing. It's a heavish fabric with a glue back. It's what makes collars/cuffs stiff and if ironed will fuse with the fabric

  • i see.. thanx! ;)

  • What kind fo interfacing was used?

  • These would be good for a Pow Wow Outfit :D

  • OMG I have the same button!

  • The feather hair clips are cool. I'll have to try that some day :)

  • fun stuff. i love the feather hair clips.

  • what was the black thing? i didn't catch what it was...

  • All things I can find in a dollar store! This is so much better than the $20-30 that Urban Outfitters is trying to charge.

  • that cassette necklace seems a little clunky

  • Thank you so much.

  • lol Kenley...

  • I've always loved those feather headdresses ^^ They look very snazzy; feather headwear in general is cool, I think :) I wanna make one right away!

  • Rob, Corinne - idk if you guys will read this, but your show (is it called a show?? or a blogshow? lol) is... amazing! i'm not just talking 'bout all your tips, inside looks, and the ideas you bring together, but i'm talking the technical stuff too! your logos, the way its filmed, the transitions, and your own commercials look great! do you guys do all that on your own? and one more thing: are you guys paid to do all that? :D its great! keep it upp!

  • super cool!

  • where do u get the curved hair clip she used on the first demo? I cant seem to find any.

  • @pinkstarred- You should be able to find them at your local craft store :)

  • rite aid, duane reade

  • That is unbelievably cute!

  • this is really cool im definatly making these. :D

  • they dont buy craft feathers so they can RECYCLE and you can't hate on the commercials cause thats probably who helps keep this show goin! i dont like commercials but i cant hate on em for using the extra help!!

  • is there a reason you used feather duster feathers rather then craft feathers? just wondering if there is a difference : )

  • awesome!

  • Corinne is as cute as Wednesday Addams (Christina Ricci).

  • what's with the commercial for tmobile??

  • We all have to make a living...

  • yeah man i just skip them & boycott products of said ad because they pissed me off.

  • Cute! It reminds me of the 1920's!

  • aww i like 'em. so cute! :)

  • I love watching little videos like these

    thanks!

that would make a great present!

  • I love little tid-bits like this! They're so easily done and I have most of the stuff around my house. Good to see that the old ThreadBanger is back!

    let me know pleaseeee

    -nancee

  • This might be useless, but what I do is get a fake flower and superglue it (by the stem) to a bobby pin. Hooray!

...Yeah, "ghetto", I know. But I like them. =]

  • This is just in time! I'm costuming a production of Peter and the Wolf, and I was wondering how to make a fascinator-style hairpiece for my Bird. Thanks Threadbanger!

  • oh awesome i think ill make some :]

ha i laughed when they said kenley shes like my least favourite designer this season

  • ohmygosh, awsome ideas :D

Im gonna make me some cute Fimo headpieces soon, I'll buy extra for some new accesories ^ ^

  • Very cute think I'm going to make one.

They are like the ones I saw a The clothing show in Toronto today. Good thing I didn't buy one.

  • Kenley Collins' style is fucking sweet,

she is as vintage as it gets.

  • thts actually cute!!!

it's not really my style but i luvv it!!!

  • soo cute.

  • SELLOUTS! they sold out to TMOBILE!!!

  • so i guess that means you sold out to tacos?

  • everyone's style is different. that is what DIY is about...DO IT YOURSELF. if you don't like it, make it differently.

    xoxox c

  • pretty cool, pity this week kind of ditches the guy viewers tho

  • ehhhh~ shouldnt of used the button

  • woow! t-mobile's now sponsering u!

keep up teh good work guys....

    i'll go far :)

  • i hope i don't sound dumb but what is "interfacing"?

  • i dont know either but it looked like just a sheet of foam

  • omg i love crazylady's stuff

  • Greetings!! I have used this same method many times for a variety of things. My favorite thing is to use my glue gun and fake flowers to make some INCREDIBLE pieces. Alas, I have no recorder with which to show you these goodies.

Still, keep an open mind. Places like Claires charge around 8-12 dollars for something you can make for under 4 with some help from Goodwill.

  • Cute! I love those hairpieces, and YAY they DON'T involve sewing machines. :) I also really like that junk bracelet.

  • whoot! fascinators! I love it.

  • THREADBANGERS!! just came back from the LA fair a tones of fun janome was there and loved the sewing machines

  • that shrinky jewelry is fun to do

    i make it alot

i also do alot of necklaces and bracelets

i just might hafta show them off

    =O

oh, and those were some pretty awesome hairpieces

  • i feel like i'm watching one giant commercial anymore.

  • I wish I could find some faux feathers - do this up vegan style!

  • michales has faux feathers

  • thank you so much i really love kenly's hair peices.

  • Seriously.. what can be done with BRAS that are past their prime? I've used the cups as patches on pants, and I remember the 'boobie bag' from another episode.. but what else can they be re-worked into?

  • that feather barette would be great for a

    20s flapper costume.

  • love Corinne's shrug in the last bit!

    love the project too!

  • @ 2:14 is that one of those scabble pices rings???How do you make it look like glassy on the top does anyone no I tried mod podge but it just dont look the same HELP ME OUT fellow DIY'ers!

  • Uh... clear nail polish? Or would that chip off and screw up the letters? Just throwing stuff out there...

  • wow, a feathered head piece?

how about something practical, like a whip,

i could use it to swing to work, very economical.

  • ooooo corinne got a tan or maybe its just my computer:) anyways i *love* the feather hair clips!!

  • Epic Episode of Epicness.

  • Nothing is sacred. :3

  • really cool hair thingies.. boo on commercials for big companies!

  • I agree, the Hair Items were awesome, but I hate all the commercials. I know they need the funding, but damn.... these are overwhelming. I think i'd be more inclined to pay attention to comercials from independant smaller company's that need the publicity.

  • advertising is a big deal to me. i wish we could only advertise for smaller eco friendly companies but the truth of the matter is that they don't have money to spend on advertising. we have turned down a lot of ads that totally go against the DIY ethic but i have to choose my battles.

if you don't like the commercials, it is very easy to skip past them. xoxo c

  • i dont mind the commercails i have watched you a long time and it is exciting to see how far you come i see your own t.v show in your future!!! i LOVE the diy net.!! keep up the great work thread banger!
