A viking was simply a raider. Viking means raider. To go on a pillage or raid was to "go a viking". So the Scandinavians would have called french and spanish pirates as vikings. Which would make any finnish raider a viking by name. All i know is i would be scared shitless as an Englishman watching a longboat sail up my rivers.

Im not sure these guys would like to be called Viking Metal. Finns werent Vikings, but they got fucked up by them. The Finnish band Moonsorrow also said they dont want to be known as Viking Metal for that reason.

There can also been found finnish weapons, buckle of belts etc. for example in danish viking tombs. I can tell you more because YLE (finnish 'BBC') made a program about the subject. Estonians are many times called as "after vikings". Write to google: Raid on Sigtuna, its good to start from there.
