  • Thank you for sharing!

  • ...true, but even it got crowded, Boracay remains a Pearl in the Phils.. and ther're some off seasons too to stay away from the madding crowd!

Also check my video about Phu Quoc in Vietnam, to experience an untouched Island destination.

  • I miss this Island very much. Sad to hear that the island is so crowded now. I was working in an NGO based in the Island few years ago.

  • Gov. corruption, poverty, over crowding, air and water polution, high birth rates among single mothers, prostitution, child sexual abuse, exploitation by western, and asian, corporations are and will ruin the philippines. It has been said that the phils have more taxi/jeepney drivers with masters degrees than any other country.

  • THE RAPE OF BORACAY: Once ruled by its native inhabitants where they can freely enjoy the beauty of their island is now under seclusion in the remote part of the island. Wealthy known personalities were able to secure their rights in Boracay and continuously changing its landscape to their commercial intentions. Degradation of this once lush forest will be inevitable because of the unending influx of Commercial Businesses inside the island.

  • You have a point there, 100%. But that's hard to stop, mainly because of corruption. On the other hand the Phils consists out of more than 7tsd islands, mostly untouched. My opinion: They should announce Boracay as a declared nature reserve.

  • @lhtlueders Would it be possible then to divert beach-related tourism to beaches on the main islands and only allow eco-tourism to go to Boracay ?

(I have never been to the Phillippines but I have some friends there who invited me over): How are the beaches on the main islands ?

  • @AmersfoortTristan The beaches are just amazing. Very fine sand and clean, not to be found easily somewhere else in the world. It's just a very cool holiday spot.

  • hi am planning of going there in Jan next year. do you highly recommend the place?where is the best accomodation ?what activities to do?Please tell me any of your good and bad experiences there if you don't mind.Thank you.

  • Jonys Beach Resort:

It's not directly on the beach, just on the second row besides the beachcomber resort. Between the resort and the beach with their own mexican/phils. restaurant is a street, which sometimes is sort of busy, but because it's a corner situation the tricycles slow down and it's safe and easy to cross. The little hotel is within excellent shape and it's very well maintained, extremely clean and the spacious rooms are well equipped with all sort of travellers in mind.

  • thanks for ur reply.i'll check it out.there r so many places to choose from. But the main thing is I don't have the money to waste on accomodation.some of them charges like too much, it's much cheaper here in australia and the beaches here r way to much better. have you been here?

  • Boracay has been voted again as one of the BEST Beach in the world. I like to visit down under too, but it's very far away... If you travel off season you'll get a hugh discount.

  • @atedol IM FROM BORACAY... I WOULD RECOMMEND YOU TO STAY IN STATION 1
