Not really. I didn't success at trying this game with a French Smasher, and I can't say if online could be well-played.

By the way, I had trouble at doing waveshields ; Dolphin doesn't allow me to press L if R is already pushed, for instance.

So, if I want to waveshield and shield again, here's what I must do :

R pushed => Y/X/Tap Jump & R release ASAP => Wavedash
