Rice is NOT the oldest in Texas. That's Baylor est. 1845, Rice est 1891, and btw texas u was est. in 1883. A&M est. 1862;Rice WASN'T AROUND! 1891 comes after that. "Flagship" is not an official title, either. It just means it's well known. That fact being, BOTH are considered FLAGSHIP. I'm in no mood to insult you, just presenting the facts.

moreover, while it is clearly not definitive on which school is harder to get into, among, say UT, UCLA, wis, and etc- between UT and a&m there is a clear chasm which no rational beings can overlook; consistently UT ranks at least 20 ranks above a&m in the USNews ranking

A&M has professors that actually take time out of their schedules to help you out and students that actually take care of each other.
