  • put sum good tires on that beast then see how she does;)

  • @vanco22

did that :) Put the 33 inch tall, 12 and a half inch wide tires from my 81 on it at one point. The 81 did better though, mainly because i didn't hold back as much with that one :)

  • until the frame of your 1st gen yota decides to pack it in 5 miles into the bush.... with only 2 more beer...

  • @ismokewead420

Bullshit, 1st generation my ass. There are atleast 2 other generations before this thing. Toyota's been selling trucks in america since the 60's.

Frames good on this one anyway. I had an 81 that broke in half, but not with only 2 beer left. It took a good 2 years, of pretty intense abuse before the very rusted frame finally broke.

So basically, bullshit all around :) 240,000 miles on the pig as well.

  • @tommartyn this is the first gen 4x4.. so calm down.. yes toyota made other trucks before this one but none where a 4x4...

  • @Mr4x4forlife

:) Not entirely true man, the bodys style before this, there was a factory authorized 4x4 conversion that was done by a dealer, with shitty dana axles and stuff.

Either way, Saying 1st gen toyota, is totally wrong. Saying 1st gen 4x4 wouldn't be horrible, but people don't do that, and i spreads the idea that these were the first toyota's. Its ridiculous man. They literally made the same trucks, with older bodys. 20R engines, w50 trans's.. the whole lot.

  • @tommartyn i understand what you mean and lots of people wouldn't know that if they did their homework.. so i give you props.. but me and lots of other people the 80-83 will be a 1st gen... but that is just us.. i had a 82 yota long bed 4x4 with 22r and factory 4spd trans. it had a 3 inch lift with 33s under it..

  • @Mr4x4forlife

79-83 were the first years with factory offered 4x4. in 81 they went from the 20r to the 22r.

Thats cool man, i haven't heard of any 4x4's with a 4speed. I wonder if the ratios are all the same as the 1-4 gears in the L52 5spd 4x4 trans. (i think its an L52) I know 4th is 1:1, so that is the same in both, but i wonder about the rest. In my buddys 87 2x4 we took out his 4 speed, and put in a W50 out of my 79 2x4, and the ratios were crazy different.

  • beast

  • @misfit72492

    For sure man :)

  • That beast dosent take shit from no one. love it.

  • @jabow15

No sir, it is not a shit taker. Something about toyotas man... Such awesome machines.

  • LMAO, That thing is a beast! Gotta love Toyota

  • @KrashGT

:) Thanks, yeah, they are the best!

  • is it petrol or diesel

  • @MrLoveit2

Sadly its a Petrol pig :) Nah, i actually like the 22R's. We didn't get many of the diesel's over here in the us. You can still find some 2x4 diesels if you look hard enough, and pay enough, but the 4x4 ones are practically extinct :(

Really would have helped in the video if it was diesel, The spark plug wires wouldn't have gotten wet, and started running bad.

  • Dude make a update video of this beast

  • @curtismundy

Hey, thats a good idea man, I'll try to get to that sometime within a month hopefully :) Its been a while since i even went back in the woods and checked it out really.

Gotta get some motivation to get it going soon.

  • Hey mate just wondering what motor is in this hilux. Petrol or deisel??

  • @gdrahcir

Hey, this was a 2.4L petrol. The 22R engine. They sold a diesel here in those years, but only in the 2wd hilux's. I think they didn't have enough power for the 4wd setup. In the next body style, they did have a diesel in the 4wd for 2 years i think. But yeah, we normally don't get the option of the most fuel efficient engines over here :( Man i would love this thing to have been diesel. Don't care how slow it would have been :)

  • @tommartyn The 4AGE would be a good transplant compared to the 22R, similar power but the 4A engines get better fuel economy usually. But both engines are very good.

  • @madjimms

I'd love to transplant a 4aGE some time :) The extra low fuel usage, and the crazy higher reving would be nice too. Not that we don't rev the 22r's just as high :) But it can't be good for the 5500 rpm redline engines. or maybe its 5K, to go up to 7k.

The only thing that would suck about it, would be the loss of torque. Thats a pretty important thing for doing what we do. But at least its got low range :)

  • @tommartyn Maybe an 4AGZE?

  • @madjimms

Yeah, they would all be pretty good, but the thing is that they're 1.6L's, so they just don't have the same kinda UMPH that the 2.4L 22R's, or the 2.2L 20R's had. But i'm sure they would work awesome, just have to get used to how those engines make power :) But again, with low range, i'm sure it would be plenty.

  • @tommartyn Yeah, Toyota makes some damn good engines!, I would love to find some 80-90's Toyo diesels.

  • @madjimms

For sure man :) Its been dream of mine for a bunch of years to find a diesel... :) One of these days

  • @tommartyn good luck, my dads a master toyota tech and he said in the early ninetees mexicans came up and bought all of them. I've seen one in my lifetime and it was in a 2wheel drive.

  • @hisblood27

Well, i'm not much of a racist, but i know there weren't that many to begin with, and even fewer now. i've seen a mid 80's one that i should have bought, and another mid 80's that was 4x4. He said there were about 3 years of them in 4x4. i know back in the 79-83 bodystyle, none of the 4x4's were diesel, because they didn't feel that it had enough power to deal with the extra weight of the 4x4.

  • @tommartyn Thanks for the reply ,i'm not a racist either but thems the facts bub. If you go to Mexico thats where they are.

  • It might be true, I'm sure they're crazy valuable down there, but seriously, how many times have you gone down to mexico? ;)

About 5 years or so ago, and it might still be going on, a company from africa or somewhere near there was buying up all the 80's toyota's from ALL the junk yards around here, and shipping them over too where they were from. And just the front ends, they were cutting them off from the cab back. Paying more then the yards could part them out for. Thats a fact for sure :)

  • i got a 1985 toyota hilux duble cabnit but its a 2wd but i sware i never saw stronger more than a hilux i love this picup <3

  • hilux's will never say "no" to a challenge!

  • @04berza

:), no they don't, i think they actually smile when they see one

  • im subscribing this shit is great!!

  • @HateBigGummedRetards

Awesome man, thanks. hope we can keep some more good stuff coming.

  • is that just steam at 1:56 ? I assume its not smoke.

  • @BluesShredGuru

yeah, its just steam, that thing wasn't a smoker back then :)

  • @tommartyn is it a smoker now? Anyway this is a cool video, and I hope to buy a similar truck soon.

  • @BluesShredGuru

Yeah, what happened was, i got the head all redone, with new valve's, and new seals for the valves and all, but i didn't give it a wear in period, i just started beating it really hard, and serious high rpm's all the time, so the valve seals went very quickly, and it smoked like a bandit. Still passed emissions though :) You don't fail for oil smoke. it has to do with carbon monoxide, and a few other gases.

Incredible trucks man! :) good luck! And thanks.

  • good tires and a good driver - you could go to space in one of those.

  • @eagleeyes55

Yeah man, even with bad tires, and a decent driver you can get pretty damn far :)

  • I couldn't believe you tried again @2:30. Then you tried again ...BRAVO!

  • @kbj42016

Haha, thanks man :) yeah, that was my cousin steve piloting the toyota there. At one point i tried grabbing the bumper trying to help pull it up, but i didn't have any influence on it really.

  • the 1st gen. are nice lookin, i used to have a '86. I gotta '96 Taco w/ reg. cab now Imma do a SAS on it. the IFS is the only problum with the newer ones. but.. MINE HAS THE 3RZ ! WHOO!

  • @LoopsnoopNpass

:) Yeah, you got some extra power :) 22Rs are really incredible though

  • i hear that those Toyota trucks are damn reliable. There almost impossible to break

  • @jumbi100

yeah man! We've had a decent amount of them, and they really are impressive machines. un killable, and very capable too. They can make it through pretty much anything. I'm glad me and my friends discovered them years ago. otherwise we'd never have known. I wonder how well this thing would have done through the water with new plugs and wires :)

  • @tommartyn the plugs and wires wern't the issue try driving through water slowly until you are almost at the bank and then goose it

  • @jumbi100 hell yeah i own three all from previous owners all are still the shit

  • man i wish i had a property to thrash on like this :P

  • @scmini

I hope you find some some day man!

  • TOYOTA CANT KILL EM i OWN A 94 TERCEL LOOK UP THA REAPER!!!

  • I'm runnin 33s on my 84 yoda and my chassies rusted out r u n 4 high or low

  • @trevorstepps97

was the toyota in high or low? I'm not sure. my cousin was driving. could be high. I would have had it in low. It was running on about 2 cylinders though :) what with the old wires, and all the water and all.

  • this truck actually looks like its in semi decent shape

  • @imonfireagain94

In alot of ways it was. but mechanically it was pretty messed up when we got it. and the bed looks ok in the video, but it is all rusted out everwhere, and a few years after this video, litterally fell appart. And its not from the kind of stuff in this video either :) it had a bedliner in it before when i got it, and it had just rusted out the whole thing... Sucks.

  • wait nevermind i know a guy that has the same truck blue and everything

  • bad thing is i know the guy that owns that truck phillp

  • The toyota trucks from the 80's - both types, were the best ever. The post 84 ones looked so mean too. This thing has subtle stately class. Nowadays Hilux/Tacomas are just too soft-looking, even though they do kick ass. I love these videos man! You've got a weapon of mass deforestation there!

  • @phrawgg2

Yeah man :) i'm with you 100% I wish they still made them in some korean factory or something :) Like the willys cj3-b's in japan. their either still making a version of one, or they just stopped very few years ago. And they pop diesel's into them and all. Some day i wanna try out a tacoma with a 4 cylinder and a 5 speed 4x4. :) wanna see if they can do anything.

  • @tommartyn trust me them tacomas can, i got a 96 with 3" of suspension lift and 32's, never been stuck b4, and with wat ive had it in, thats saying something!

  • @DeDakotaslt20001

Thats awesome man :) Makes me pretty happy to know the newer ones still have the awesome toyota thing going on. 32's are a good size for a toyota, for sure :)

  • I repeat, you guys have the sweetest vehicles.

  • @tmhurley27

:) thanks man! Glad you dig them :)

  • good ol first gens

  • They are unstopable :)

I always thought it was weird that these are called first generations, when this was proably the 5th compact pickup generation they sold in us. first 4x4, but they're just 4x4 versions of the regular pickups. It would have been awesome if there were 4x4 versions of the generation before 79 :) they were pretty cool looking :)

  • but big trucks Ford makes a monster

  • Well Nissan and toyotas are well know for holding up Detroit midsized trucks don't last 10 years.

  • yeah man :) True True :)

  • how much did you pay for this truck???and do you still have it

  • I paid free for this truck :) from the same guy who gave us the new Caprice the other week :) but he gave us this 3 or 4 years ago. theres a story about it in the video description of the first Caprice video.

Yeah, its still around, waiting for another head gasket on the 20R i put in it.

    Funny, Your dad had a 22R from 81 or newer in his 79, and i've got a 79 20R in my 83 :)

  • good vid nice hilux but 2 evry1 else just cause the water splashes over the bonnet doesnt mean the water is high enough to get in the air intake but again nice vid and keep at it

  • Hey! thanks man :) it really is aweseome what a stock toyota can do :)

  • Have you ever broke it>?

  • what was all that smoke coming from the bottom of the truck? did it get messed up?

  • Nah, it was just the water turning into steam on the engine and exhaust pipes :) No problems for the old toyota :)

  • oh ok.. i have a questions, how does this car not get messed up when you like sink it in water? doesnt the water go into the muffler and the motor etc?

  • i've heard people mention that kind of stuff before, but we do not seem to have those problems. as long as the engine is running, no water can come in the muffler, because its blowing air out. and sometimes we get some water in the engine, but you just need to change the oil afterwards and you're ok :) Car's can take alot more abuse then people know.

  • its a yota... thats my explanation

  • I would guess steam coming off the motor, cuz water got on it and it gets hot

  • True True, hey! In a few days or so i'm going to be uploading a video of my 81 romping through some flooded woods action. not as flooded as this, but its a cooler looking toyota. :) got the awesome toyota beige, and the old style toyota SR5 decal's on it :) very cool looking :) But at least i did put round headlights and a better grill in this 83 :) out of my 79 2wd

  • it was not smoke, it was steam.

Hot Engine, Tranny, and T-case covered in water gets you steam.

    Cheers

  • thanks! but i have another question, what about the air intake for the car? what happens to it?

  • Eh? It has straight body panels? what the fuck? Wow, this thing really has been throught hell and back, still going strong

  • and also where do you live

  • is this thing still running???

  • its on its 3'rd engine (this one was rebuilt, and the timing chain went) i'm currently in the process of putting a head gasket on it... but got no money right now so its kinda just sitting. Its got a 20R in it now.

I'm in eastern pa, where are you at?

  • Henderson NC I have a 94 nissan pickup with 4 banger and I love your videos

  • Nice! i bet that nissan rips some stuff up! we had a 4x4 v6 nissan and it was unstopable! you may have seen some of the vids of that beast!

Thanks man! glad you like them!

  • your welcome but i always thought that was a four cylinder but yeah a freakin beast it always cranked right back up

  • yep! it always cranked back up even when severly overheating with no cooling system. Pretty amazing thing. that thing was a v6, you can hear the one side's exhaust leaking :) 3 cylinders making that loud tapping sound. they are kinda famous for that. one side getting loud at a time. Gaskets going and stuff. but yeah, INSANE power out of that engine. 4 cylinder would be great too, but that had so much power. Might put up some more vids of that thing.

  • yea you should i enjoyed that thing they do have that power that i never thought a 3.0 v6 wounld have

  • btw deisels are a cult here aswell in the way of offroading and whatnot.

theres more deisel hilux's here than petrol models.

in 4x4 petrols are hopeless. torqueless.

in a 2x4 they make for great fun in the wet. on the road that is./

    haha

  • man, you guys are lucky. yeah, torquey diesel would rock for 4 wheeling. my 40's willys i just got goin is crazy with torque, even though its petrol, because of the crazy long stroke of the engine.

Yeah! petrol 2x4 toyota's rock! got a free 81 that we beat the shit out of sometimes... got a gas tank sitting loose under the hood, and just keep punching that 22R as much as we can! i'll send you a video of that beast :)

  • Jeeps. dont get me started.

Its a jeep thing you wouldn't understand.

  • Just got my '49 willys going :) THAT, is a jeep thing :) for real. :)

  • ohhh umm do they call them tundra's?

cuzz the new tundra's are nothing like hilux's over here there wayy heavier n shit. and come with a v8 if im not mistaken?

bigest motor we got to date in a hilux is a supercharged v6 4litre. bull shit quick for a ute.

i kno of a guy with your ute with a 350 chev in it does the quarter mile in 12 seconds flat. with muddies and 2 inches of lift

  • The newer hilux's are called tacoma's over here i think. Which kinda sounds like some kinda "wild west" thing, so its probably to market to the americans. But those beasts can have 4 cyl's in them, which is awesome. i've seen fundra's with v8's! i may have seen one with a 5.9L v8. those and some nissan has a v8 now. yeah, v6's in the tacoma's. chevy 350's in toyota's... :(

I heard back in the late 60's the chrysler cars you guy's got didn't have the same crazy engines we had.

  • nahh bro our chargers ran hemi and slant 6 cyl's mostly.

they where pretty quick they held the record for australia's fastest 6cyl 4 door sedan, from 1972 to 1989 with the introduction of the VN GMH Commodore.

with the craptastic N/A 3.8 lt multipoint injected Buick motor.

    still beats the eco tech

  • Ah! nice! this dude from over there told me that you guys didn't have the slant's because they didn't have enough power or something. which supprised me because the slant's are pretty strong!

  • hey man im from australia. that is a petrol model with a 4spd box and open diffs both ends right?

jay and jenn umm if u want a gooood offroader, not sure about over there but here hilux's are the trick, mates got one with a 3l 2.8 deisel open diff front lsd rear diff. 2 inch lift and the thing has a mile of clearence. buy 1985 onwards, there all great from there in terms of reliability But thats here, there are some fucked up roads here that we go on for fun and they lux pulls thru everytime!!!

  • yo mate! this is a petrol, (diesel's are sadly extremly rare and unfindable around here... ) but its got a 5 speed. yeah, open diff's... :( would truely be unstopable if there was some LSD action going on. :)

man... diesel... :) thats got to be the best.

wish they used the hilux name over here. its cool.

  • haha yehhh there a cult. we even have hilux wagon's called 4 runners.

1985 models are 2 doors and the back roof comes off just behind the front seats.

what the fuck do they call them over there?

    donga or somethn? haha

ummm landcruisers are great 2 u got any of them over there?

what about nissan patrols? i got a patrol its pretty tuff open diffs tho :(

  • haha, yeah its weird, they're just called "Pickup Truck" over here. back in the 60's they used the Hilux name here too, then they dropped it for some reason. Went nameless. Got the 4 runners here though. Hard to find any old ones. all have been beat to death, and rusted in half :)

Ah! landcrusiers! yeah, those things rock! See them alot. Never seen a patrol. don't know if they sold here. Want to check them out some time...

    Yeah, everything should be posi.

  • tundra im pretty sure means. a dry and barron flat plain.

pretty sure, look it up mayb

  • ha! i guess you don't know toyota's. this has horrible tires on it, and needs new wires... 79-83 toyota pickups can severly out romp jeeps man. they are incredible.

  • haha i do know Yotas that's all my parents have ever owned. My dad has a 08 Tacoma TRD nice lookin truck..i was just raggin ya guys but i do love my Jeep :o) and i don't know about severly out romp lol I'd say they both do damn good

  • True True! my 49 or 54 willys cj-2a can really romp through some awesome stuff. as long as it doesn't bottom out, it can't really get stuck.

  • Im new to the Toyota tanks thing and looking for a good year to get for gas and reliability. what is the best year through year model to go for that still has the true unstoppable history?

  • hey! sorry it took me so long to respond here. Man, these old ones get good gas mileage, and if you find one in really good shape, they are extremely reliable. some time in the mid 80's they switched up to independant front suspension, and those aren't considered as unstopable. probably because they sit lower in the front. so from 79-80 something. :) they are amazing! :)

  • how much was this truck? and how much did it cost you im thinking about buying one just to screw around with it.

  • woops i asked u the same question twice soz

  • haha, thats ok with me man, some times i give the same anwser a few times too... haha, it happens. this thing was free! a guy owned it, blew the head gasket. and didn't want it.

i spent 500 bucks on the head. got it all redone, and we put it back together, and just beat the piss out of it forever, till the timing chain went, then we thew a 20R engine in it. which also has head gasket problems... still need to work on that. if you find one, check the frame, and get it! :) best ever.

  • loco no hablan en español?

  • hahah! i don't. ¿Por qué lo preguntas?

Me gusta aunque la toyota! :)

  • This makes me miss my ole hi-lux even more.

    p.s.

    "what a hunk of shit"

The shittier the better. I love um.

  • Nice, i'm with you man, i'm not down with ones that are all clean and perfect. from there they can only get worse. but an old beater, can really just supprise you all the time with how well it can perform, and hold up. Thats the kind of thing i'm about. What year was your hi-lux?

  • mine was a 1982, it was great but the person who owned it before me was a chicken farmer and there is somthing in the bird crap that just rotted out the chassis on the truck. Then it erm....... umm... snapped in half when I picked it up with a fork lift to do some welding on it. Then it turned into a huge project that I never finished. I sold it for scrap last year while scrap prices were high. "Chineese Olympics" put scrap metal up high so it had to go.

  • But I did chop 20" Off the back to use as a work bench.

When I get some more cash Im gonna get another old shitter!

  • haha, yeah, i've had 3 that are rotting in half. did you see the video of my 81 4wd that did eventually break in half? i made a video with clips from the 3 or 4 years before the engine siezed because the oil pump was broken for about a year. Thing still drove! half a truck! tank stayed on, and it drove! fun!

still have it, and same huge welding project, that i'm sort of half way done. then i have to un seize the main bearings... scrapped alot of stuff too, during the high prices.

  • This is an 83 with headlights and grill from a 79. thats how i got the awesome older looking round headlight thing.

  • I will check out your other vids

  • what a hunk of shit

  • man, what the fuck? with your name and all, you should get how awesome this truck is... you're fucked up man! This kickass toyota was free! whats your deal? is this some stupid thing where you have one in really good condition, so you have to put this one down? got this free from an alcoholic, and it has shitty road tires on it, and look what it can go through! thats deep water man! and its fun... not a piece of shit, a fun toyota!

we beat the shit out of this thing!

  • what kinda tires were on that like did they have some good tread? i have like maby all seasons with a 3 inch lift think it would do that?

  • yeah, these were bassically all season type tread. not bald at all, but not good traction tires. no lift. i'd say if you have a pre independent front suspension toyota pickup, then it should be able to do it no problem. i'd always recommend doing something like this. though i didn't know if we were going to make it at all. and i was really supprised that it did at all. though it was running really rough from the water all over the ignition stuff

  • yea defintly! i do recommend building a snorkel though! there really cheap and there are places online that can help you build one :).

  • I got the same year Yota with 325k miles on it :), they just dont die!

  • ha ha! nice. yeah, they are probably the best trucks ever made. except for the size of the bed for hauling certian stuff. thats really the ONLY thing wrong with these things. They are just incredible. Did you see how deep that water was! it was crazy that thing could drive through it at all! old ass wires and all on it.

  • hey tommy. i know your kinda way up in the middle of noplace. but im sellin my S10. 1000bucks. motor doesnt get spark but turns over.. if you took it to a shop they could have it runnin in no time. no door panels or healiner. red bed. semi gloss black paint with gloss black wheels and red trim rings. striaght pipe exhaust. auto trans. 2.5 4yl. it was one fun as hell truck man. its a shortbox 89 chevy S10. i just dont feel like fuckin with it anymore. but its a good lil truck. fun and light.

  • Thanks man! i appriciate the offer, but if I had 1000 bucks, i'd want to put it toward a Pre 84 toyota. and stick too. The toyota in this video was actually free! I bet that thing was alot of fun! i get your frustration too. it does suck when shit just dosn't work. where are you at again? i'm constantly representing ottsville pa. ha ha

I really do appriciate it though! especially after you've seen my videos, so that means you know what we would do with it! It would be cool...

  • dam, bob that bed! nice truck though.

  • NICE TRUK MEN..

    I HAVE AN I TOYOTA 81 ...

  • Thanks!

    nice! i have 2 81's. a 2WD and a 4WD. i had another 81 2WD. they are the best trucks ever.

got any videos of your Toyota?

  • that damn thing dosent quit

  • Cause its a yoda

  • the 20r's are way tougher and will turn more rpm's, good choice

  • thanks man, yeah i'm digging it. just need to rebuild the carb so it stops cutting out when you press the pedal past 3/4's. other then that it runs perfect. 20 degrees out, press the gas once, turn the key, fires right up, and runs smooth. just got a 76 celica with a 20R too. also needs the carb rebuilt. but runs perfect when it's choked.

  • 83's look awsome with a 3 inch body lift and 38.5's

  • and grills, and circle headlights from 79-81! square headlights suck ass. when i got that thing, it looked like the front end of a jeep cherokee! sucked. well, i don't have money really, so i don't think i'll be lifting it. it goes through everything anyway. i just got some free 31 inch mud tires, still got some tread on them, that's all i need1 things too unsafe on the road as it is!

  • My dad's 83 still runs good and would still go through the mud good but the body has rotted almost completly off it. we parked it 6 years ago after the cab mount fell out going down the road and we ran over it, 3 inch body lift, cab corner and all. it was a short box, we painted it bright yellow.

  • heh heh, yeah, the rust. one of mine broke in half. do you have an pictures of the 83? or video?

  • no video but i will try to get some pictures just after we painted it and now it is prity sad right now it sits out behind our barn.

  • nice! do you have a myspace thing goind on, or should i give you my email address?

  • Yea i was abit worried too about the hill at the end, It's awsome how the amount of water it plowd through at the end didn't disrupt the airflow, thats one good truck. I'm curios to know if you modded the air intake, great vid =)

  • Thanks! that was a cool day in the woods. all that water is not normally there. just land. i actually did make it up the hill after a while, but for some reason the camera didn't capture that part. no modifications on this beast. it possibly dosn't have that hose that loweres the intake from the airfilter to the grill thats it though!

  • Nice man! Too bad you couldnt get up that muddy hill in the end, but you gave up a nice fight! Was kinda worried you'd flood the engine taking in all that water without a snorkel!

  • hey man not bad,,,i think you should take the exhaust right off, straight pipe it it sounds so much better on toyotas my frienhas one and it sounds sweet

  • thanks man! yeah 22r's do sound very vicious without muffling. the only problem is that i like romping in the middle of the night sometimes, and there are to many houses around with people in them who would call the cops at 3 in the morning. but don't worry man, i'm sure it will fall off one of these days. even though the broken in half toyota pickup still has the cat and muffler connected somehow...

  • hey, just wanted to let you know, that the engine went in this truck, well, the timeing chain skipped a whole bunch of teeth, and it wouldn't start anyway. so we ripped it out, and threw a 1979 20R in it, and then the exaust pipe cracked in half before the cat, and i was driving it like that for 2 days. crazy loud. had to weld it back together, but it was fun for a few days...
