"Can you repeat that?" the most annoying words ever to a person who stutters, I was hung up on by Barclays (bank in the UK) when i was phoning up to sort my account with them a few years back. I was hanging on words alot and couldnt read out a authentication number or something. Got half way through and I heard the phone hang up.

Anyways, Ended up complaining and got £100 compensation for it, and she got the sack for hanging up. Sweet karma!

I'm a stutterer and still hate the phone. I'm better with it but still hate it. The internet has been a godsend because I write so much better than I talk. Tim is brave - a lot of stutterers (even adults) wouldn't dare pick up a phone so I think he'll be able to do whatever he puts his mind to.

Hi. I'm in the SPA program at WVU. I just met him yesterday in a class I was attending. He isn't a "fake" it's not an act. He is a real person with a real speech impairment- and he is a really great guy! He just graduated with his MASTERS in Speech Pathology!! So this part of his struggle is over for him.

I'd be happy to repeat the word if you don't understand it, but I HAVE to finish it; I can't just leave a word half-finished, even if I'm struggling on it. There was this one time that a guy called that had a horrible stuttering problem, but the person that answered it though it was one of us trying to prank her. I took speech therapy wich helped a bit, I was very disapointed, but lately (after I wrote that comment) have I gotten alot better to control my stutter, the periods of blockings are shorther than seconds now instead of 5 seconds+.
