i can´t see any cub being saved, all i can see, is one of the dominating males behaving as usual, figthing among the other males, even if they are from the same pride...
@weird2325 ..u didnt see it b/c the person filming only focused on the angry male. In the beginning, he never shows the cubs whom I later realized must have been in the bush BEHIND the angry male. The cubs and lionesses all looked sickly anyway ..so Idk why J.Varty, Brits & the French in Africa keep asking the world to help fund their big cat bootleg camps (tourist traps).. telling us they're going extinct. Those frauds only protect & look out for their fav cats they know personally, smdh!
Awesome father, he loves his children. One observation though, that one cub was so scared and had absolutely no understanding of what went on. He wound up growling at his own dad. Poor little cub. I know how it feels when the family splits up. Although those cubs might never see their mother again. It sounded like a little heart break in the end of that dad's roar. It was hard for him to settle, so it seemed.
@Junde801 he latched on to this pride for sometime, that was his dad that was protecting him, he was the pride male who mated with the females that were run off, but the cub eventually died of poor health from what I have read
Alot of people think that male lions have it easy because the females do the hunting. But the males have to fight for the pride, sometimes to the death.
Good video. Good father lion, ... and prestigious tv documentaries hardly ever show that usual and right behaviour from the male lion protecting his cubs (and more tasks). They usually (and only) tell that the male lion do nothing..., that lionesses do everything..., and that is proven as false. They ignore or hate the role of the male lion, that's the reason.
Male lions are the only male felines that actually have a role in fatherhood. All other felines like the tigers, leopards, and cougars just leave the female after mating.
They must be allied with the rival pride. That's why they were illuminating the cub to make him a better target. Humans and lions will always beat lions alone.
now thats a father right there took on all those lionesses and i saw a male lion there in there as well so he took on a whole pride and protected that cub, amazing stuff, shame on his pride the mothers just leavin like that, nature is nature but im glad it has a good side to it
pride-takeovers or nomad lions kill any cubs belonging to the existing dominant male(s), this brings the females back into estrus so they will mate with the new male(s). Normally if the cubs are adolescent or older then the new male(s) either kill or chase them out of the prides territory.
Lions from rival pride will eat cubs, if they get to them. Neat to see a male lion babysitting; the lionesses must be hunting. To route most animals, all the male has to do is roar.
Why the hell are you people arguing about the traits and characteristics of lions in a youtube video? First off, I dont see anyone here with wild animal university degrees so just STFU and enjoy the show.
It is very rare for lions/lionesses to kill their own young..I've seen it only in one documentary & that was during the dry season where a cub tried to get a share of the meager food & the male hurt him, but that was during a very volatile time where food was scarce..so I have to disagree with you
Geez y'all don't gotta be flashing ur lights in the lions' faces u fuckn morons

And people say a male lion is lazy. All the females run away when it comes to a battle and without the male lion the cubs die.

It's a bit confusing, it seems like only one cub survives.
The father looks extremely tough and self-confident though, so hopefully the pair makes it through the night.

no you're wrong man, the new male lion which became the leader of the pride, kill all the cubs cause they're not genetically related to him.
Kialarry90 3 years ago 2
they don't kill their own young, read what I typed properly..they kill youngs of other males not their own..

The male lion kills cubs which are not related to him, to force their mother to be free to mate with.
