it all depends leg strength...some people cant use hands because they don't have a strong enough upper body but strong legs. or vice versa but all in all with practice you can do it either way no problem
i agree with you on that, i mean how else is there a no hand kip up? if you need your hands so much....u might wanna check my guide on how to do a kip up there's also a roll kip up and a no hand kip up in it :)

at first you should try it WITH ur hands ;) it's much more easier for a beginner :D

I first did them on my tramp, then my bed then carpet then concrete. It took a while but now they are easy
