and i have a question: how would you know when to use honorifics?

  • @hbllop123

If you have to ask, you're not ready. Don't worry about honorifics yet. That's a pandora's box.

  • Watashi wa hirateuchi shite kudasai

    does that work?

  • I love japanese songs for this very reason( besides the wonderful melody, it teaches)

    1. Orenji no juusu onegaishimasu

  • Hey you said Omizu Onegaishimasu.

Is the O put there to make it more polite? :)

And to summarize the video.. onegaishimasu is used for objects and kudasai for actions?

    Thanks! :)

  • @Creativecowlover

onegaishimasu and kudasai are used when making a request for something, you can say omizu onegaishimasu, and omizu wo kudasai. and also when using kudasai for a request or something it will follow the particle wo.

and yes when putting a o it will be more polite.

  • ringo onegaishimasu.

    itte kudasai!

I think that's correct... I'm a moron, so I could be wrong. I don't know much, but that is why I'm watching you, now isn't it?

  • niku onegaishimasu

    XD Can i have meat

    lol

  • @peanut231san

It's great if you like teaching. If you don't it's hell.

  • @peanut231san

    Yep.

  • You can drop the 'wo' particale in Onegaishiamsu.

But...to be safe, I used Kudasai with friends...but I used Onegaishimasu when going shopping or going out for a drink or a meal.

But what do I know. No matter how much I love the Japanese language, I am useless with languages, so I am more or likely to be wrong...LOL

  • Chotto matte kudasai (really common, I know...)

    hon o onegaishimasu...

  • Ohanami wo kudasai

    Kono marker pen wo onegaishimasu

  • @SN4K3H34D

    I'd say Ohanami ni ikitai.

    GANBATTE!

  • @Gimmeaflakeman

Ni ikitai meaning "let's go there" or something like that.

Ikimashou was "let's go" or something if I remember correctly

  • Soo....Would you say... Tatakai wo kudasai if you were trying to pick a fight with someone....or would that be the same as asking to see a fight ? Or would you just yell "TATAKAI" and the rest would be implied ?

  • I found really pretty sayings that I might tattoo on my back in japanese. Like miyavi.

But I'ma have diffrent stuff. I found alot on Junjou Romantica anf Vampire Knight when they do like text in tense moments like Blood. And I finally understood what The writer said to Him in Junjou Romantica! Suki Desu!

  • but I am a prevert ;)

  • xD wat did it say wen u looked it up :P

  • it did say molester or pervert. actually saw one of victors lessons that had different words for perverts. Im a fairly unexperienced moron, so maybe I didn't catch that the first time. But I wasn't being serious anyway. I don't want kill any chance of talking to any women if I ever got to Japan ;)

  • i'm sorry but did he say... or better why did he say : omizu onegaishimasu... or was that wo mizu? can u switch the place of the noun and wo (which i thought was a suffix)...

  • Ramune onegaishimasu

    suwaru kudasai

is that right?sorry i dont have a japanese language thing on my computer ^^

  • suwatte kudasai

  • is there a diffrent wat of saying it depending on the sentence

  • Is the te form used when you're requesting something of someone combined with kudasai? It's specifically used for requests?

  • No, not just requests. Has too many uses for even one video -- let alone one comment. Learn 'em one by one.

  • @Gimmeaflakeman Is the

"Te" also used like "ing" in english?

  • @edtomorrow

    I would say

    TEIRU or TEIMASU

is like the ING in English

  • @Gimmeaflakeman That's the case if the "ing" implicates that the action is currently in action. Like "I'm eatING" becomes "watashi wa tabeTEIMASU".

But if the "ing" is used when using the action as a noun, like "I don't like swimmING" the japanese stem of the word is used: "Watashi wa OYOGI ni kyoomi ga arimasen" (literally "Speaking of me, I don't have an interest in swimming").

  • @edtomorrow te-form is more close to an adverbial form... it's not... but kinda is... iru is a verb being "to be" or "to exist"... to exist in someway presently means to be existing in that way. that's way te+iru = -ing

another good example would be "dou yatte" which means "in what way"?

more specific explanation: it's used to connected related events generally in a sequence.
