Spartans were genetically altered from like todler ages and were trained from there up to their adult ages so of course they are going to seem like over kill.

The ODST's on the other hand are more like todays Airborne soldiers because instead of having a parachute they have drop pods XD. Because of that fact thats porbably why alot of people favor the ODST's over Spartans.

Honestly, Master Chief can go f*** himself. The ODST should have been the main characters of the Halo series. They are more realistic, have cooler armor, and if you've played ODST and seen the cutscene where they team up to take down a chieftain you'll agree when I say that stabbing a Brute in the neck repeatedly is far cooler than just whacking him with the butt of your gun.
