I've written a letter to DADDY!! The address is heaven above. Instead of a stamp I put kisses. The postman says that's best to do. I've written a letter to daddy saying I LOVE YOU!!!!!!
Anyone know the real words? This doesn't look right???
My god could she dress up well. I mean, how many people can you mention who these days could pull of that color? AND she realises that she is at the age where you realy should hife your arms. But the outfit still makes her look like she has an hourglass figure!
What a shallow person! Now that I am older and wiser. I see that Bette Davis was an obsessed BITCH! I take her daughter's side! I don't think she knew what a charity was or an underdog. She had it easy! That is the irony of her BULLSHIT saying, "I did it the hard way!" Fuck You Bette! YOU FOOL! You were WEAK! You don't fool me!
She was such a strong personality and actress. I think this vid is so cool, especially at the end she looks like she's having alot of fun with it. Only someone as cool as her could pull it off...You go Bette!

No matter what Bette did she was amazing becuz she brot quality and star power to it. Sure, her voice really isn't amazing but i love lstening to her becuz of the power, color, and inflection she puts into it.
She sang before in her films and this is great she even has a rock & roll record! That's why she's a Legend and nobody can deny that! If you like this film you should see Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte if your a Bette Davis fan!

This is so AWESOME!!! I LIKE IT & THINK SHE SOUNDS REALLY GOOD. FOR THAT GUY WHO SAID THAT SHE WAS OVERLY CONFIDENT & HER OWN BIGGEST FAN IS DEFINATELY NOT TRUE. Bette Davis is probably the most beloved actress ever & like me, I have met many people that love her voice, the way she talks that makes her singing pleasing to hear even though she is not a professional vocalist. It is still good. Great to be matter of fact!!!
It's unfortunate, but understandable, that Bette parodied herself to support her family in her middle age. She just married too many weak men. What a great talent she had been
I would freeze to death to be with in the same room as Bette, let alone share the stage! What a lady! Bravo Bette, you still make us all vibrate with your performances!
That was probably around 1967, judging by the production look, Bette on the Andy Williams Hour. She'd cut that song as a promo single with Debbie Burton, the voice of "young Baby Jane", a few years earlier.
Does anyone know what year this was? Whatever Happened to Baby Jane was released in 1962, but that was long before color video cameras & recording... right?
It was December 1962 - very, very early color - NBC was one of the first to film and broadcast certain shows in color. Thus there NBC peacock logo with the rainbow color feathers.
CBS was strickly black and white until the mid-60's ABC transitioned around the same time, but prior to CBS, which was the last to go to color.
Color tvs went on sale in aug 1954 all 3 networks had some color programing NBC had most, this show was recorded on quad (2") video tape not film (color video tape systems were in use by 1957) many of these tapes were erased or have since fallen apart i'll say its great to still have a few like this.
The only person I would ever approve of playing ANY role Bette played is Meryl Streep, because I know she's the biggest Bette fan and would strive to do her justice.
@markserjeant I never knew about that. Thanks for telling me the information that she died because of cancer. It reminded me of Audrey Hepburn too. just 4 years before I was born in 1993. How I wish I saw her and I wanted to hug her, she is lovely!

There aren't any stars like her anymore, with perhaps the exception of M. Streep. She knew she couldn't sing, but it didn't matter!!! She was Bette Davis.
Yup Bette Davis can do whatever the hell she wants, so anybody who disliked this video: get 2 Oscars first and then bitch about this. Bette was awesome!!!
@dannykiddo in fact, Bette should have had a 3rd oscar for All About Eve as best actress and perhaps a 4h one for Baby Jane! In the case of the All About Eve, it has been said because Anne Baxter insisted on also campaigning for best actress too they canceled each other out...ultimately giving it to Judy Holiday for Born Yesterday. Too bad!!! :(
@dannykiddo - gosh, an actress she is.. a singer she is not. But at her age she would do anything. Nice voice for disney movie but not as a pop star. Davis was wonderful but overly confident and her own biggest fan.
I love Bette Davis for this! She's not the best singer in the world, but this clip is still very watchable and entertaining. She pulled it off really well!
the video quality looks as if it was copied directly from the master cameras. I doubt if those tv audiences had color clarity this good.. It looks like one of those BONANZA episodes. NBC always had the best video quality

Holy crap! You would think aging Hollywood superstars had agents/managers/producers/lawyers that would prevent the stars from embarrassing themselves like this.
I think this is cool! I love Bette as an actress. She doesn't have the greatest singing voice but she was a wonderful entertainer. I just watching her.
Bette Davis was never afraid to do or say whatever she wanted. She was a strong, self-conscious and talented woman, a legend. She Was fuckin' Bette Davis, for Christ sake! Cant believe you're making such a fuzz about the fact that she aint Maria Callas or Aretha Franklin. So what? You know what would bette do about it? I'd laugh at your face and light up another cigarette. And she wouldn't give a DAMN about what u think. Because she knows she is Bette Davis. and that would be the end.
To me Bette Davis is one of the greatest actresses of all times, a monumental star, but for god's sake, THIS has to the lowest point of her career, it hurts to watch her doing this for a buck.
i love it....so shamelessly flaunting her utter lack of musical talent....i mean: look at her at the end of the song, relentlessly flouncing her skirt, refusing to let this pretty scary "Now What Do I Do?" moment in her career end....nonetheless: i worship her!
Wow, I didn't know this music had lyrics - this is the same song (minus lyrics) that is playing in the background when Blanche is frantically typing a letter for help to toss to her neighbor. Unfortunately, this song is so loud from the neighbor's radio, they don't hear Blanche pleas for help. And then at that moment Jane comes pulling in the driveway and sees the typed note.....
@CarlyIsAGangster I agree, Bette is amazing, very talented, I love her, but yeah at this stage in her career, she could do anything she wants and people are gonna love her and she is gonna make money. She's TOTALLY earn't it though like you say.. You dont get nothing for nothing. She deserves all the success and money she gained.
Kathleen Turner reminds me so much of Bette Davis.

i love it....so shamelessly flaunting her utter lack of musical talent....i mean: look at her at the end of the song, relentlessly flouncing her skirt, refusing to let this pretty scary "Now What Do I Do?" moment in her career end....nonetheless: i worship her!

"Make the, biggest thee-uh-tah ring!" Oh God, you have to love her! She's such a tease. And I am in love with her accent :)

Sure but she is dead now. What's with all the expletives? How common.
