@stitchmorg You could use MIDI, but that isn't really Acid's strongest point. A more well-suited program to make your own beats would be Reason or FL Studio.

@ChokyRecords1 its not like fl studio where you tell the drums what to play. it's a multitrack sequencer. you place each seperate kick and snare yourself, from synths and other drum files

When I record a vocal track, I arm a track for record the vocals, and just play a regular track as the instrumental playback, but the armed recording track captures my voice sound plus the instrumental playback also.

I want co capture just my voice and being able to play the instrumental track.

Yes. You can do everything from make the beat to record your vocals to mix it down. Acid is very underrated.

I use FL studio. I know what you mean though, TOO MUCH SAMPLING on acid. It kills ingenuity..

Yes, you can record your own vocals/music and edit it with this software. It's very useful.

Or download Audacity; it's a free software that will let you record and edit.

Not a bad video. My 2 cents for anyone trying to produce beats on a major level is get a Digi Rack and Pro Tools. I personally have the 003 rack and Pro Tools LE 7.4.1

From there try to obtain as many sounds as you can weather you record them live or go online and download sample banks.

Plug Ins are also a big part of professional production, I personally use the Waves Diamond Bundle (Which also works with Acid)

Other programs you might want to look into if you don't want to spring for that kind of money are Reason, and Fruity Loops. Although I nor any big producer I've seen working has used those said programs, I know some do but usually integrate them with other programs.

It's kinda funny cause a lot of kids now days want to sound like classic RZA or Premier, but then sample off of CD or MP3 and can't figure out why the RZA's tracks sound so grimy. LoFi is the true key to all hip-hop, the dustier the record the better. Let's help spread the word.

yes u can create ur own ORIGINAL tracks... just right click on the side box where all the tracks are and then click insert midi track.. then paint a bit of the midi track on.. and press G to paint down the notes onto the midi track on the main screen.. instead of having to go to a separate screen

That Willie Hutch sample is so ill... unfortunately, EVERYBODY decided to use it at the same time. UGK, Jay Z, Cam'Ron, Haxxilla...

That's true. As I said, I'm not taking any credit for the sample since I have hurd others use in in comercial songs. Though I decided to use that sample without knowing anyone had done it. The same thing happened when I made a beat of foreigner sample ''distance', which I found out later was also used by diddy ON the biggie song victory.

Yeah, for sure, I sample the hell out of Willie Hutch. I hate when you make a beat out of a sample and then find out much later that it's already been used. Makes you feel defensive. It happened to me in a beat battle with a really obscure sample... Genya somebody or other. Hate looking like a biter.
