  • 01:20 TOSHIRO NAGATO whith "thiner" stick has the arsenal of Bujinkan (NYOI BO)

  • BAD MARTIAL ART NINJUTSU ¿? jjjjajajajajajajaja ask TOSHIRO NAGATO Shihan (appears in the video) its Dakentaijutsu causes so much pain get to see the border of the unconscious, yet fast and accurate with his Jutaijutsu and if he wants using his Taihenjutsu not get even a minimum effective strike . BAD MARTIAL ART ¿? jajajjajajajjaaja

  • whats the fence post weapon called? my sensei told me once but i forgot..

    starting at 1:18

  • Much love for my brothers! We are more then a martial art we are a family.

  • ACDC is not bad musik!! techno, justin etc is shit.good video of Sensei hatsumi!!

this is not a stupid martial art if somebody wants to be an authentic stupid martial art seek MMA(also this is not a Martial Art). All the martial arts are the best!!!

  • kanabo kata finally :D

  • Fencepost no Jutsu!

  • stop putting good music on bad martial arts, it an insultto acdc

  • ...a second. Did you learn something from it? IF so, why freak out about it. I trained in an art called Konigun NInjutsu and found out later that it was fake and all it was was Ishin Ryu. They asked me if I was mad and I said no, I learned good stuff. I didn't care if it was called Shitjutsu, it worked. all arts can be good or bad arts, it's not the arts, it's the person training. I've used Bujinkan in mma, and it worked for me. I've trained in 16 arts and know it can be good or bad. Good job.

  • @Berry2be Arteanor always bitches and cries on martial arts videos, he thinks hes some kind of authority in the community, ive seen him randomly on so many different videos crying about false history and all sorts of ridiculous crap not just bujinkan

  • @Berry2be

great... that is a perfectly logical line of reasoning... why on earth didn't you send it as a reply though?

learning viable things from a martial art is great... that does not however mean that you are telling the truth about that art, or your school.

it is the lack of integrity, combined with the specific building of his 'ninpo taijjutsu' brand despite the fact that he has even said he doesnt know whether or not it is real...

how can you trust someone lying for $ like that?

  • wow people kill me. Everything, changes throught the years. even stuff that people think is pure come one, 1000 to 2000 years. the reason for not showing proof is because of some of the secret arts they just don't want people using half ass and stealing it. The "Koga Ryu" has already been stolen and now it's a whole new art. When takamatsu died, no one knew he was last soke for a reason, it's said that he used Ninja tactics with a few last ninja during World War II. Lets say it's all fake for...

  • I honestly don't understand what the dispute is all about. Learn what you can from this vids, and let it be.

  • Nice stuff, i love watching the older footage.

  • Fagot music

  • Comment removed

  • Great footage, so glad it's been saved for posterity. I like the AC/DC "Hell's Bells" soundtrack too, Hard rock & Bujinkan Taijutsu training has always been a perfect combination.

  • you guys are all wrong

  • king of LARPers!

  • the training in japan was not conducted in this idealistic outdoor way but in the rather more down to earth tokyo budokan in ayase also foreigners outnumbered japanese, also the 5th dan test at 0:58 is not done with a real sword anymore I doubt it ever was...

  • yeah but you can cleary see that hatsumi stopped the sword

    his student wasn't fast enough

  • This is a demo video...not the real thing

  • I don't know name of the song, but group is "AC/DC"

  • Hells bells

  • btw whats the name of the song?

  • Hells Bells, ACDC

  • this is my all time favourite bujinkan video on youtube

  • Thanks for posting this. Some tweeker stole my VHS ten years ago.

  • That sucks.

Do you remember what it was called? I'd be interested to find out :p

  • a bujinkan guy tim peterson gave it to me and it might have been sold as ninja: night warriors. but i only remember a kanji title in the beginning.

  • I like the older training of the Buj better than modern stuff. I think this vid was made before the Bujinkan was even founded. So its just Hatsumi giving private lessons. And people please don't start this "Ninjutsu sucks" VS "ninjutsu Rocks" argument. Go to any other vid and thats all people talk about. I've used it. It works for me. Period.

  • The sword bounced in Hatsumi's hands before the guy moved. I suppose the expectations aren't very high for this test.

  • welcome to the oldest debate in all history. You have become its latest victim :) All systems have their merits and were all designed to help fight a specific type of oppression or technique. Something for you to think about - "The best martial art lies not in the martial art itself, but in the person practicing it" - You. Train hard!

  • well i am a former judoka and i am now training ninjutsu. But before i walked away from judo i did some sparrings with my ninjutsu against a judoka and belive me it is just as efective as any art.

    But i agree with tracerelement

  • 1:20 Since it is called this weapon?

  • hmm...we do these allmost on every ocasion... didnt know it was "old" :)

  • What is the name for the giant club their using?

  • Nyoi bô

  • BUJINKAN FOR LIFE

  • yes please stop putting bad music on these old treasured videos

  • @nicktheone118 NOt bad music ...but appropiated music..ok?

  • @nicktheone118 It 's not bad music, It's good music, It's AC/DC \o/

If you want there is the same video without any music on youtube is just looking =)

  • @nicktheone118 this song is not bad music, this is good music, that's AC / DC \o/

iif you want there is the same video without sound is just looking on youtube

  • @nicktheone118 Its good music.But a stupid martial art. NINJAS? guys,REALLY?

  • Walk softly and CARRY A BIG STICK

  • Bujinkan is a school of life.

And the Samurai used to be the greatest soldiers ever, period.

  • Lol? Samurais were good against others samurais. Because they didnt fight against any other soldiers very much.

I would say that 16th century full gothic plate armour knight would easily wash the floor with the samurais.

There have been many warriors in hostory, but their fighitng and battlingstyles are different and made to work against different opponents.

You cannot say that somebody is best.

  • haha. the main problem with the medieval knight - he was about as manueverable as an elephant. also, the katana was much more versatile a sword for fast slices and stabs as well. i train in the bujinkan with a guy who did medieval fighting for 20 years, and according to him, this is much more practical. the key here is fluidity over strength. medieval fighting style is much too stiff and tense to counter the fluidity of the samurai or ninja.

  • Comment removed

  • Lets see, as already pointed out, the Samurai's armour was much more versatile, and allow plenty of movement, whereas a knights armour allowed barely any move. Watch some demo's of a knight using a sword and look how he has to use it. If a knight were to fight a samurai, the Samurai would win 95% of the time.

  • Not true. 10 years ago or so, the History Channel had an expert dress in authentic medieval European full plate armor and he was impressed with how mobile he was. He had no problem doing handsprings and cartwheels, etc. The big difference is that European martial arts died out as they accepted new technologies like guns. So when you watch a demo today of a knight using a sword, you are watching a play actor who is ignorant of how to use the arms.

  • i think it'd be a good matchup to see the two square off but to say that the knight would lose 95% of the time is a little much don't you think? and a knight in a set of plate mail is almost immune to piercing attacks(yumi or the katana), the chainmail underneath would prevent any major slashing attacks (katana or naginata). i agree the knights visibility with the helmet sucks, but every tool the knight carries is a one shot one kill, except for the broad sword. that might kill multiple foes.

  • dude you can easly pierce a full plate armor with a composite bow. europian armors are not that good. btw. samurais don't attack to their targets armor. they take the enemy down and cut their throat. you can't cut through an armor with a sword. you need to cut the kabuto's strings and take it off. now you can cut the head of the enemy. You can kill your armored enemy without cutting him. Crush his head with warhammer, kanabo etc..

  • european armors are actually quite excellent and allow for plenty of movement. europeans easily dominated warfare for centuries. dude you can easily pierce japanese plate armor with a bow as well. the european knight had more crushing weapons than it did slashing weapons, where the opposite is true of a samurai..

fact is since both of these warriors went out we'll never know but it would probably be a very great battle

  • europeans dominated warfare ? only while fighting with other europeans. Ottoman soldiers crushed all the full plated guys, without wearing an armor. Power of the Turkish composite bow !!! Armor only makes you slower. How can you evade a cannon ball, charging cavalry or arrow shower while wearing a heavy armor. It's nearly impossible to run with that. If you wear a full plate armor under the blazing sun, you can fry quickly.

  • the ottomans used plate armor. to say they didn't is stupid. and the ottoman empire even at it's peak barely went into europe. yet europeans have colonized the entire world from africa to australia, to parts of asia. europeans dominated the world, get over it.

  • i am a turkish and i know what my ancestors used in battle. they only used chainmail and leather armor, sometimes lamellar but no full plate. btw, we don't like colonization. we bring peace when we go to somewhere. we re-opened the orthodox churches in constantinople, we stopped the war between mameluks and mongols, we protected the bulgarians from serbians, we killed vlad tepesh who slaughtered thousands of civilans in europe. please read some real history.

  • and yet the turks fell and european culture began to dominate. I don't care if the turks don't like colonization, most of europe did like colonization and europe dominated the world and europe was the driving force behind the advancement of the world. and vlad the impaler is a hero in Romania, because he resisted the expansion of the turks

  • you are right. i didn't say anything against your words. i just gave info about old turkish military. btw, vlad is a hero in romania but in other balkan countries ?

  • Part 1 (168 pages) of Togakure Ryu Densho now on my blog see my Densho vid all free! no scam

  • Stop putting shitty music on good videos.

  • THANK YOU shadow147.

    Thank you.

Why is it is such a damn trend?

  • ditto that all the way to hell and back

  • some of the nine ryu of the bujinkan are "samurai"schools, and there are many ground fighting techniques.

  • mean it wouldnt be so strange sinds bjj was derifed from a samurai style, and sinds bujinkan also teaches some samurai styles...

  • ive also seen a video of a german bujinkan student winning by submission against a brazilian jiu jitsu student. do they teach ground fighting in bujinkan dojos in general or is this an exeption where the sensei also implements jiu jitsu in his classes?

  • no ground technique is very important in all Dojos especially those which like to have an aspect of 21st century fights were more end up on the ground. we to a ground technique about every 2 weeks or even every week.

  • The problem with BJJ type training is that Bujinkan people don't usually want to be on the ground for that long. We train for the possibility of multiple opponents, so being tied up on the ground isn't such a great idea.

Having said that, BJJ training should be done a little. I would hate to be on the ground in a one on one fight with a BJJ guy. But I'd probably just try and poke him in the eye etc instead of wrestling with him.

  • Right! poke him in the eye and run while screaming like a little girl XD

  • The Highland way;)

  • These techniques are mostly designed to kill or maim(very quickly). They have stood the test of many hundreds of years use-in real life and death situations.I think the training is as close to realism as practical, without running out of trng partners,or ending up in pieces yourself.Students can do what they want in their own time of course..

  • Great stuff! Interesting comments-anyone saying this is bullshit is announcing they don't know what they're looking at..."Why carry a big pole??"duh..there's one on every street corner, and it could save y'r life...if you have the wit. We should be thankful some of these juniors can't see the techniques of Ninpo Taijutsu.Better for everyone they stick with WWF.UFC.KFC,or whatever...Hatsumi will take his place in history as one of the greatest martial artists of all time.

  • OMG Hatsumi Sensei young. I've never seen him without greys.

  • watch kudo practicioners then you know why the use the big ass pole, they can handle a great variety of weapons and I even saw one using a dogs toy (plastic chicken about 45cm) to bet the crap out of a training partner, if you know how to use the stuff you can propably injury someone with a tv remote

  • i would like to see these guys in unarmed sparring matches, and would have perferred more taijutsu in this vid but other than that its very well done.

  • this isnt a sparring art or competition its a way of life and and these techniques are not meant to be taken lightly

  • well its a martial art meant to defend yourself with right? how would they otherwise find out that they know their techniques well enough to use in a real fight other than a simulated fight like a sparring match? and im talking about their unarmed techniques

  • and im not suggesting that the guys on this video dont know their techniques, im talking about a beginning or advanced bujinkan pupil

  • awsome...just awsome

  • This has been around for 2000 years. I'm fairly certain fear and adrenaline have been factored in strandneuker. It's okay that you are dumb. Some people just are. I believe in you!

  • These commentors are usually just trolls (the same kind that post in forums, etc.) Honestly, people shouldn't respond to them because they are simply just looking to get reactions for fun. They could be ten years old for all anyone knows. Ignore them.

  • i don't think that is the point, it just shows that you can use anything to take down your enemy regardless of what your enemy has in his hand i do bujinkan budo and it is very effective!!!

  • It was used on battlefield because it could smash people in armor. Most of the battlefield weapons of the feudal era where much larger than the weapons that where carried "day-to-day".

  • half of you wankers commenting and slamming him down are not fit to be thrown by him lol!!

  • who the hell are you?

  • in due time you shall recieve back 10x what you have given. and you know what you just cant stand the fact that you suck and cant fight worth bull! so stop posting on here shut the heck up and leave cause no one wants to hear your cocky bull crap!

  • strandneuker,

why do you say this? If you started a fight with these guys it would be over in seconds. you don't have a clue

  • You wouldn't manage a few steps in that net, especially wearing armor. Ask a bunch of riot police if they would appreciate a fishing net in the middle of an incident. Molotov + a net != health.

Blankets and newspapers work equally well in smaller scale. Many time police have thrown blankets and nets on knife wielding assailants.

  • I'm not talking about an immediate defense, and I am talking about ACTUAL instances. This means I have evidence; proof. You have only your retarded ramblings. Proof of gtfo.

And if you where attacked in your own home, training to grab a blanket or afghan from your bed or furniture and cover your opponent "immediately" wouldn't be a terrible idea. Especially if you where small framed or weak. It's called metsubushi and works on the same principles as pepper stray and smoke grenades.

  • I'm not a black belt. Fear and adrenaline mean you must rely on your muscle memory and unconscious thought. I have had someone break into my house and chase me. I threw stuff at him the whole way till I reached my shotgun. Rest is history.

  • in the words of truth and kindness you will learn to treat others the way would like to be treated. because one day you shall recieve the hate you have given but no one will be there to help you.

  • i shit my pants from laughter whahhahahaaa

this is crap pure bullshit!!!! especially the end...capturing two men with a fishing net lol

  • just for show dude...

  • Hear Hear!!!!!!!!

  • If I'm not mistaken, you have posted negative comments on a lot of videos about bujinkan. Why do you insist on deliberately going through all of the videos just to insult this particular martial art? Do you practice a martial art? If so, which one? What makes you the authority on all things martial arts? I don't understand why there must be one particular martial art that is better than all others. Can't we respect all arts? If you are just trolling, or trying to start a flame war, please leave.

  • all, i say is... if hatsumi were to train with me. i would give anything. he is the grand master and if you question his ability it only proves your are not a believer in the power of ninjustu kiya!!!! ichimonji no kamae!

  • super

  • to anyone that says hatsumi is a fake. you are full of crap. you have probably never trained at all. and if you are a martial artist, you should know that the grand masters sometimes look the least impressive because they are so advanced that they are able to get rid of the flashy parts and still have it be effective. Hatsumi should not have to prove himself to you, he is already the grand master of the true ninja art, isnt that enough

  • @XthefrenchfaggotX You seem like someone who seems to know sth. about this discipline. What is Hatsumi using at 1:59? And what's it used for normally? Thanks.

  • @GaolisVideoLog Thats not Hatsumi at that time, just pointing out, I personally don't know what the Nyui Bo (sp?) used to be used for...

  • @XthefrenchfaggotX

"anyone that says hatsumi is a fake. you are full of crap."

care to back that up with any evidence?

"you have probably never trained at all."

what would that have to do with hatsumi teaching a mishmash of budo and calling it ninjutsu?

"look the least impressive because they are so advanced"

    sure they do...

"that they are able to get rid of the flashy parts and still have it be effectiv"

real battlefield arts dont have any flash to remove.

its still not ninjutsu he teachs

  • @Arteanor um im not sure what kind of evidence u r lookin for. i guess i didnt feel like writing a thesis paper on a youtube comment and still dont...

  • @XthefrenchfaggotX

"um im not sure what kind of evidence u r lookin for"

oh, anything that mentions ANY togakure ryu waza predating takamatsu...

any mention of ninjutsu being or including martial arts/ budo/ taijutsu..

or anything to substantiate hatsumi's repeated claims to edo period scrolls that takamatsu told the brd he never recieved.

so if the scrolls didnt come from takamatsu, where did they come from? and why is it that they are not allowed to be examined by experts (koryu societies)

  • @Treanor togakure is a real ryu. sandayu momochi, iga's most famous ninja used togakure methods and techs.shoku, the very famous ninja climbing gear/weapon, a style of shuriken and a fist weapon were all sole creations of togakure.these are recorded and historical facts that proves togakure existed.

  • @XthefrenchfaggotX right on.

  • @XthefrenchfaggotX

"Hatsumi should not have to prove himself to you, he is already the grand master of the true ninja art, isnt that enough"

uh yes he does, atleast if he wants to be taken seriously in the japanese budo community... and he has shown already that he doesnt want that.

you continually assert that he is a "grandmaster" of a 'true ninja art', how does one verify that? or prove that any of this video's techniques were ever used by shinobi ? its EVIDENCE, got any?

  • @Arteanor no one puts any weight on what u say get that thro ur head.

  • @Arteanor

It depends of if we understand the "ninja art" as a compilation of real ninja techinques or as other techniques based on the ninja spirit, that could or could not have existed.

  • @aporlarepublica

""ninja art" as a compilation of real ninja techinques or as other techniques based on the ninja spirit, that could or could not have existed. "

so how does him claiming to be 34th soke FIT with something that 'could or could not have existed'

he does NOT claim it is a RECREATION, he CLAIMS DIRECT LINEAGE.

with no more proof than that him saying his sensei said someone taught it to him and called it ninjutsu....

    it is ALL hearsay,

    check out TSOAS2008's investigation vids.

  • wow... this is one of the best ninjutsu clips i have seen on youtube! :D

  • I think the net part was too much.

  • It's just a demo of some of the different aspects of Ninjutsu. It's not supposed to be realistic.

  • can someone tell me where I can get one of those nets the awesome ninja uses at the end? and how to hide it?

  • ninpo ikkan!!! Hatsumi sensey is real master!

  • I don't see how you can say that. I see very little similarity with jujitsu. Ninpo is actually a lot more similar to Chinese Chin Na grappling. I studied Jujitsu for a while and never once encountered rope techniques. Plus jujitsu techniques are designed to take down quickly. Ninpo techniques are meant to let the opponent think he has control until the last moment.

  • Big similarities with jujutsu, Jujutsu is not a defensive art you propably lern only defensive techniques, the rope is used in jujutsu(hojojutsu) In my opinion better, the half techniques are standing, and I dont think to hold the sword like this in Chin Na

  • Another key difference is that jujitsu is a defensive art. Any martial artist knows that almost all martial arts combinations start with an opponent striking. Ninpo can be offensive. Also, Hatsumi and Hayes probably are the last Ninjas. I mean that they know the whole art. Including the espionage practices that are illegal to teach in Japan, and will get you in a Waco type situation in the US. Only the combat aspect, taijitsu, is currently being taught.

  • Hatsumi sensei is a ninja

  • Looks like LARPing to me. If you practice with antique, historical weapons because you enjoy it that is great. It is a great way to preserve history. I don't make fun of civil war re-inactors. However I laugh at people that think they are ninjas. Ha Ha ....Ha

  • I am not a ninja, but I am very knowledgeable about martial arts. I consider myself a modern martial artist. I don't own a sword or a spear. However, I do own lots of firearms. But I will state that there ARE modern ninjas. There are many fakes. But the last ninja sect alive is what is today called Bujinkan Ninpo. My sensei is studying it because most guys learn one style and move to another. I am not interested in old weapons, but I respect their preservation

  • The point is they train with all weapons past and present. Hatsumi has helped train members of the CIA and NSA in modern gun techniques, especially in disarming them. They are not Hollywood ninjas. They do not train with nets and stars to look flashy. They train with sticks, knives, and guns in addition to swords because it's in keeping with traditional methods. The Bujinkan isn't a money making institute to make people feel badass. It trains one in survival techniques.

  • whahahahahaaaaaaaaa Bujinkan not ment for money making?!! that is a lie...

  • This comment is not what an honorable martial artist would say, please show respect!

  • how can you say bujinkan is effective only against japanese arts?

    Your deluded, with all respect.

  • This is mostly from an old video (at least to me old). I'm afraid its not very representative of the art though and this is more of the flashy stuff. But that's what videos are for. And Ill have to disagree with Alexyxx87 (no offense) especially on the fact that Kung Fu is the basis for modern combat systems.

  • what's the name for the large staff used from 1:19 to 2:30 on this video?

  • it's called a nyo ibo. An historical battlefield weapon used against swordsman and samurai mounted on horses.

  • Maybe kung fu are not the more espectacular martial art, but what i say, it,s that kung fu,s training, forms, movements, and weapons, have all necesaries characteristics, it,s a fast, strong, opened and difficult martial art, but ninjutsu based his power only in japanese weapons, ninjutsu only can fight to others japaneses warriors, but kung fu is opened to all martial arts because is the base of all modern combat systems, the old shaolin is a treasure for china.

  • Hmmm perhaps it may be like that but... we train to have a better quality of life not go against another martial art. As a student of Shaolin you MUST know that, or maybe not. Amitabha

  • very good video

  • i think its AC/DC Hells Bells

  • which is the name of the song?

  • The kaiten at 4:02 - 4:03 was pretty useless, I'd even call it a blunder, he put himself into a very vulnerable position...

  • Please post a video of you demonstrating better kaiten plainhal. Maybe YOU can "educate" us.- LOL

  • @PMACoralSprings

If you are rolling, you ALWAYS keep your eye on your opponent during the kaiten! Not just that he wasn't looking... he turned his back!

If you train ninjutsu, you should know that you're not supposed to get caught in such a vulnerable position especially when you don't know where you're enemy is.

I find it very sad that someone presenting a school that teaches ninjutsu doesn't realize that.

  • That one guy looks like Sho Kosugi.

  • Ninjutsu is good, but the true way, is shaolin kung fu. In my opinion the best martial art.

  • shaolin kung fu is overrated. i dont understand why people think that every art came from kung fu or that kung fu is some ultimate invincible art.....i mean come on...kung fu is a watered down shadow of its predeccessor.....East Indian Kalaripattaya LOL @ "indestructible" bald headed men who made up animal forms by mimicking the movements of Crickettes and snakes

  • Kung fu has nothing on Ninjutsu. Budo taijutsu is THE ART of all arts... kung fu is SOOOO overrated....

  • how far and deep into the body can those star go if anyone knows? personaly would those nasty spikes be a bigger concern to me, but then again, what do I know about ... ninpo?

  • shuriken were originally held in the hand and used as striking weapons. If thrown it was likely a diversionary tactic

  • These comments are cracking me up. It's just martial arts guys. If you don't believe it works, then go out and try it. Some teachers don't do good stuff, some do. Same is true for all martial arts. So instead of sitting here and criticizing your ass off, why don't you go out and DO IT. I don't know about you guys, but I learned to walk before I talk.

  • then look at urself

  • It's interesting to see the evolution of the training from the old days and now. We didn't do ANY of this kind of stuff when I was in Japan.

  • Apparently "Ninjutsu" isn't in vogue, anymore, so now they are calling it by a different name.

  • Yeah, I think it's just "taijutsu" now. I guess people found that when they introduced their art as "ninjutsu" people started expecting stupid shit.

  • If by this you refer to Bujinkan there's an easier explanation. As a SYSTEM we incorporate 9 schools or Ryûha, only 3 are Ninjutsu Ryûha therefore calling the whole system ninjutsu wouldn't be suited. Budô Taijutsu is more suitable don't you think? For other ninjutsu schools I just don't know

  • i thought there were like 72 schools of ninjutsu... thats a bit much to master don't you think? hatsumi sensei is soke of 9 of these schools... i agree that its not entirely ninjutsu... but it doesn't get any closed then this

  • only 3 of the 9 schools are ninja schools and even those, very little is taught. In fact, other than a few kata from Togakure and a tiny bit from Kumogakure, i'm not aware of anything that has been taught. As far as i know, nothing from Gyokushin ryu has ever been taught to any students including the japanese shihan. forget about the gaijin shihan.

  • Great video , odd music choice tough... ;-)

    Thanks for sharing!

  • that one guy got his 5 dan.

  • I love watching the old trainings. Thanks for sharing.

  • Yeah...

  • I am a kyosensei in Ninjutsu....I enjoyed the video except for the fact it had AC/DC...I like AC/DC but I think the song is out of place for the art

  • kyosensei?

  • We are not a part of the Bujinkan...in a dojo there is the Osensei-head of school..then the kyosensei-under sensei of the school

  • you mean ko not kyo

  • If thats what you see is men trying to pretend to be ninjas than you are surely ignorant. If you study Muay Thai are you pretending to be a thai warrior from 500 years ago?No your are training in an art that you enjoy.Every art has a history so don't be stupid.

  • Pure pwnage...Hatsumi Sama rocks!
