I think the thinking pattern of Germany can be understood, even though it is not justifiable. In both WWI and II Germany experienced, specially in the 2nd one, how awful and brutal a winning army can be, because they were in the side of losers. So they can't believe or they don't like to believe that their is a small island named SL where history has not been repeated. I don't think that they will believe this even if they see to their own eyes and experience by themselves, what is happening
