My neighbor burnt one in mid summer which was sitting in his back yard drying in the sun for a while and it went up at least twice as fast as this tree in the video did.

Yes, conifers and pines have oil in them. Yes, they do burn. And Yes, they burn this way if there has been some petrol set about them that has semi-evaporated. I've experienced this due to a stupid neighbour! :o)

Try setting fire to a green pine and you will not get this result.

Aw man! I wanted to hear the pops, cracks, and hisses from the fire as well. Where I was from in missouri, people burned a lot of stuff in piles all the time, christmas trees included. yes, they go up very quickly, especially when they are dead and dry.
