@VestriDeusEstMortuus It's obvious what happened...everyone knew that...but the mere emotion was what made it a great short...Unpredictable is not always great.
it was their son's heart. gave me goosebumps. there's a similar film by focus entertainment which stars Sean Penn, I believe it's called 21 grams. And another one, still by the same group, which stars Will Smith, 7 pounds (not so similar) but yeah, almost has the same theme.
This is really good. The director and scriptwriter for this is outstanding in their work from what you can see in this short film. I definitely hope to see more films like this. I had the goosebumps from watching this, this is one of the best I've ever seen.
wow, i'm not sure i've ever seen something so simple, yet so profoundly amazing. what a beautiful mind the director must have... i still have a lump in my throat from holding back tears
Passing Hearts includes the physical level: Stephan to Daniel; and the subtle energy level: Daniel to Stephan, Eva-Lena to Daniel, Daniel to Eva-Lena, Lennart to Daniel, and Daniel to Lennart. Returning across the water, Daniel is glowing with a reinvigorated "heart".
The subtle energy also may have passed to you in the audience and deeply changed you if you were totally open, let go, and allowed existence to happen, even for a single moment.
A truly amazing film! Touching, beautifully written and acted with so much compassion. Incredibly moving beyond words. Thanks for posting this and allowing thousands of viewers to see it.
Powerful story, beautifully done. Were you tempted to end @ 11:40? The scar, the touch, the mother listening to her son’s heart, and the farewell revealed the story so succinctly. Did the heart want to stay?
When did "twists" become the mark of good storytelling?
This is an excellent story even though it is predictable. I think viewers rob themselves of enjoyment of a lot of good material by holding standards not all material needs to live up to. Some stories have twists, some have morals, some bring tears, some make you laugh. None of these things by themselves make a good story, and you can have good stories without them.
That was a well structured story. All the cards weren't laid out on the table immediately in so the story was able to unfold slowly. You kind of get a since of where it is headed but there is still a journey to get there.
yawn...another slow tracking wannabe avant garde film about 'Deep' issues..shot & scripted predictably. I did enjoy the sound of the language though. A shame about the 'Feel something now' soundtrack. Im not knocking anyone elses opinion just voicing my own.

@Stereotype101 it's good to be honest but no matter how predictable it is you've got to admitt that it DOES reffer to a very important issue like how somebody's death can save someone else's life... the music just fits... i cannot think of something not similar to that ...

@markobegus I didn't predict it at all. There's no way you can predict that this kid wants to skip school to go visit a parents of a boy whos heart he received??
@sweetbutdaring how can you not...hes lookin himself in the mirror at the begining...he gets out of breath after runing 5 meters...then the "ocourd hello" when they meet...i saw it commin all the way...everyting is good and all but to predictable
It makes me wonder what sort if responsibility it must be to recieve an organ like that? The thought of having to make your life worthy of not only yourself, but also of the person whos organs you've recieved. There could never be a way to make the tragic loss of a child seem worthwhile to those parents, and yet because of their death you are alive.
Live every minute, and get yourself on the register, so when you can't someone else can!
I wish I could say alot but it was so great on a number of levels I cant seem to find the words to describe it. Strangely I think it being in another language added depth.
