i'm really happy a show like this is going to air on prime time american tv. it's the first time many americans will get a glimpse into a more humanized view on china.
Unfortunately, most of the opinions here are colored by what your politicians and media have been spoon-feeding you for decades.
The only good news for you is that the Chinese will probably remain more fair and reasonable toward you than you have been toward them for the past 160 years.
I have lived in China for a long time and I am ashamed of how we westerners portray China.
it has...one child policy??? I mean it has gotten to the point where the next resort would be not allowing people to have children at all...even this, many outsiders criticise human-rights over One child policy...either way, it's a no win situation.
That's awesome that these people are choosing to speak out in an environment that may not always be very welcoming to voices of dissent.
I think having the Olympics in China will turn out to be an amazing thing for that nation, for Tibet, for the world, because I think it will FORCE major changes to China's approach to its role in the global community.
That and it's hard to imagine things getting much worse. :P
Stop worrying about the China's domestic issues and start worrying about what your own tyrant is doing to the world.
The country that is built on by the bones of native Indians and African slaves has no place in pointing the moral finger at other people around the world. It's disgusting to see how non-Tibetan folks (primarily Whites) have upstaged the Dali Lama's cause and placed their own self-interests over the Tibetan people.
