I like this. I don't necissarily like it better than the Soundgarden version, but I don't have to to appreaciate it. I think it's cool and different, unlike his current touring band, who are alright musicians, but don't really ass any creativity to his stuff.

lol this is a pretty weird performance, cornell is somewhat lethargic for one reason or antoher, yet there is still quality in his vocals, its just a more 'dreamy' sort of performance than the original. The musicians though are not quite up to scratch.

Yeah I think that, apart from every thing else, Matt has a particular drum sound - very boomy and padded, even the snare. A Soundgarden track without it sounds really odd haha.

Seen them in November and I wasn't impressed with the band at all. I honestly thought I was going to see just Cornell with an acoustic so maybe that was why. Not to imply that I could have done a better job but they seemed to play with no real passion or genuine desire to be there. Big shoes to fill for those guys after Audioslave and Soundgarden though.

before that, his voice had like a really dark sound (it wasnt bad), but then in badmotorfinger his voice became awesome.

however, sunshower is an awesome vocal (came out in like 99 i believe?)

He injured himself vocally after the Superunknown tour. That's why Down On The Upside sounds a little off vocally.

And what you mean dark is just the way he used to sing before. A little bit different but yes you're right. Not his best.

Sure he could still belt and all. But he never really went back into his higher register the way he did on Superunknown or BMF.

Yo, guitarists out there....is that dude playing this thing in standard tuning or one of the funky tunings that Soundgarden usually does their songs in? I have a Superunkown tab book that has this song in a quasi-open tuning. Guitarist here doesn't seem to be doing those forms.
