I really liked Fahrenheit which looked alot like this does. Engrossing story and slow puzzle based choices that give alternate endings. Silent Hill fans would probably like this too methinks.

Through my own experience I've noticed that the PS3 can handle deep blacks better than the xBox - this is very evident when playing the very dark, almost all-black game, Bioshock: they seem deeper and richer.

This is also evident on many Blu-ray transfers: the blacks seem more powerful and fulfilling to their purpose vrs. the DVD version (watch No Country for Old Men on Blu-ray - the darker levels seem to reel you into the movie).

When they make a game exclusive they don't sell it to the product, they sell it to the company, so a PS3 exclusive will never be on PC, and a 360 exclusive will always be on PC :)

Don't be "sorry" cause there has been quite a few exclusives for the X Box 360. For example Dead Rising, Halo 3, Halo ODST, Halo Reach, Gears of War 2, Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City, Saints Row etc. Those are just a few examples of games that were solely on the X Box 360. So my point is that it's nice to get something solely for the PS3 for a change which is a good game.

Hey mate, I totally agree with you. I wish at the end of the day all games were multi-platform as well. But the whole point of my debate at the begging was to say that it is nice to get a PS3 exclusive for such a great game when quite often alot of good games only come out on the 360. Like those examples I listed before. And I listed 3 halo games because I'm pissed off they released Halo 1 and 2 on PC which I can play but they don't release the others on PC as well.

Actually if you include the PS1 and PSP there probably have been more 'Sony' Exclusives, far more. It's almost impossible to find a PC version for a PS1 game and most PSP games were designed for it lol.

Try to open your mind a bit to the concept of a game not being about skill, challenge, or success vs. failure (or killing people for that matter). In Heavy Rain, if one of the playable characters dies, you don't get a "game over". It keeps going with the story. When it ends, that doesn't mean you "beat" it either. Try to think of Heavy Rain as more of an experience than just another game. An experience where actions have irrefutable consequences that can lead to any number of endings.

I don't know of any other games "like that". But I do see where you're coming from. Rest assured, Heavy Rain isn't going to be palatable to people who like games for the usual reasons. Those who saw the point of Metal Gear Solid 2 might find this a little bit easier to chew--but even then, by removing the concept of winning vs. losing, you beg a lot of criticism from people who think games shouldn't be so damned philosophical. That's alright though, it's not for everyone.

Then again, there's something that's always troubled me about the modern gamer. For a while we've wanted the outside world to take our obscure pastime seriously, and almost every time we have a ticket out of being criticized for devoting ourselves to something that's a "waste of time", we reject it by saying it shouldn't be any more than a "game". If that's really our mentality, I wouldn't take it seriously either. Not trying to indoctrinate you, just a thought.

As this is an early trailer, the graphics and motion haven't been optimized. In the mean time they're burning a LOT of the budget on the visuals. Check out the Wikipedia article on it to see the technology they're using for the graphics. I'm a bit out of the loop, but from where I'm standing, they're employing the most cutting-edge stuff that exists right now.
